Academy-Eduard 1/48 Messerschmitt BF 109 K4 Model Conversion Quick Build.
This video is a model aircraft build depicting the last variant of the Messerschmitt Bf 109, the K4.
The build utilises parts from Eduard G6 and G10 kits to upgrade the Academy K4 kit, I use inspiration from an aircraft profile to finish the aircraft, using an interesting scheme with a yellow band on the nose and yellow rudder.
Paints used were:
MRP
RLM 74 - Upper Camouflage Colour and Mottle
RLM75 - Upper Camouflage Colour and Mottle
RLM76 - Underside Camouflage Colour
RLM04 - Rudder and cowling band
RLM66 - Cockpit
RLM70 - Propeller
RLM02 - Wheel Wells

This video is a great point of reference on correcting the kit. Great work
The cockpit bulkhead behind the pilots head on the bf109K was flat with a hinged access panel, the one you used with box like shape sticking partially out was used on the late Gustav's like G-14's. It's use is to accommodate the battery but that was relocated into rear part of the fuselage by the time the K version of the 109 along.
Hartmann=black tulip; Graf=red tulip.
Bulge behind pilots head is a cover for relocated battery on 'G' versions; 'K' versions did NOT have this bulged cover.
Great!👍👍👍
Agree, this originally was a HobbyCraft of Canada kit, Academy did all of their molding.Built this kit when it first came out. Also, the red tulip is NOT a Hartmann machine. I believe its for another JG52 ace/staff pilot (don't have my reference at hand, sorry).
The pilot was Herman Graf using the red tulips
nice build but i think the landing gear legs on the k ´Kurfürst were painted red
Interesting to see what you can bash up in a pinch. Might be kind of a fun "clear the deck bash" type of series to do occasionally. A kind of clearing of the random stuff leftover and see what comes of it. If you enjoyed doing it, that's the proper accuracy, it's a hobby after all.
Good build. Will be looking out for the Eduard version for sure.
Excellent kit mod. Thanks for posting.
*I like the result of your build, wonderful me-109!*
That looks quite good, nice work.
I'm eager for Eduard to do a K version...
...отлично все получается!...
Splendid result 👍
Nice work!
Nice build 👍
Nice 109! 👍
The Eduard Kurfurst can't come quick enough.
I have to ask as an old old model maker from wayyyyy back do we not now put the we all know what decal on the tail plane anymore even though it’s part of the history of the aircraft is it that pc
Being pc is such a pain these days. I use them on all my Luftwaffe tail fins.
🤝👍
What model of Cricut machine do you use?
