just got back from Vegas a week ago. We had fun, but on the last day before leaving, we decided to throw $100.00 bucks in a slot at Paris. We spun for about an hour when my wife hit the grand jackpot for $11,050! Jackpots do happen folks! Keep the faith and play until the end!
The one thing I will say about the MyVegas redemption is for the shark reef ticket it's currently at 50,000 points(for reference you get 400 a day for a daily bonus and I believe about 100 per minute or two of active play) and after playing for about a month, only at 45,000(if you can, try to use it for other things around the country or for rooms, they are slightly better priced)
Between the 6 apps that accrue the same loyalty points, I’ve earned 875,000 points since February. Two of them just require the app to be open to earn. Easy peasy.
The MyVegas app really sucks for those of us who live in Las Vegas. I was mostly interested in the free play rewards, but they specifically exclude residents of Clark County.
Great video. I think Vegas on a budget is very challenging. Especially if you are a drinker or trying to eat remotely healthy. I think you could easily have a nice day by the pool or do some free sightseeing for sure. But nightlife is where it gers expensive for us.
I grabbed an 18 pack at a convenience store and drank the night away with some friends at bellagio fountain. It was so cold out that our beer didn't need a cooler.
Even if you aren't doing a "travel on a budget" challenge, there's still some good ideas-It pays to pick your spots as to when you'll splurge-why spend $$$ for Breakfast when you can go to Ellis Island, Salsa de Cantina or Blondies (though, per my Dad, Blondie's deal ends at 9 AM).
Ruby!! Thank you SO much for this video! We leave on Monday and decided to stay at Planet Hollywood after all. I watched your entire video on the opening of Resorts World while I was packing last night. Your red dress moment was beautiful. Thanks for all you do! 🙏🏽😃🥰
I went to Vegas for the first time, 2 weeks ago. It was cool to see you walk through places I visited. I wish I saw this video b4 going. Welp, now im prepared for my future Vegas trip
You always have such great ideas. I'm definitely going to try Ellis Island - I LOVE chicken parm! If people watch your videos, they can semi-plan their trip with your advice and tips. Ruby is the best!
I’m a new subscriber that’s recently come across your videos. I have enjoyed all the videos I’ve watched so far! This one is great if you’re wanting to stay on a certain budget for the day. The next time in Vegas I definitely want to try a certain budget for a day and see what good deals I can get. I look forward to seeing more of your helpful videos 😊
@@loblowry6282 Oh yes, I'm aware! We have 4 nights comp'd at Cosmo this summer... And I didn't say the room was free because I paid for it last trip! LOL...
Love the Las Vegas strip, great video. Another fantastic place for lunch is Oceans One in Planet Hollywood. Lunch menu for $5.00 and the food is from their regular menu and husband approved, which means a lot. Also, drinks are 3 for $10 all day and night.
Wow, and you didn't even get the famous cheap hotdog at Casino Royale ;) You guys seems really down to earth and I'm really enjoying all the Las Vegas vlogs! Lots of good tips.
OR if u come in a car go outside the city - 5 minute drive ( we went to Red Lobster, because we are not from USA and i wanted to experience Red Lobster) there is a grocery store.
I thought you might go to Ocean One for the $5 anything on the menu lunch. There is the $9.99 slice and a beer in NY NY. For a group of people the nachos at the MGM Grand feed 6 and are $25, the bartender there said the same plate is $75 at the Bellagio.
I saw another Vlogger post affordable eats in Las Vegas yesterday, he spent $33.00 on breakfast at Circa and $45.00 at Black Tap for a chicken sandwich and a shake. Ruby for the WIN!!!!
If you are Veteran, you can get free parking, discounts on buffets, etc., at the MGM, and Caesars Casino. Just go to the players club. Make sure you have proof of military service, and they will issue you a Military Players card.
Great ideas! All that food looked good. I enjoy budget friendly food. Derrick from another channel visited the 'eatwell' snack shop in Cromwell and got like 3 chili cheese hotdogs for $5.00. There was a soda fountain and the drink was free..
Lol. Not at the Cromwell. Eatwell (who's menu I just looked up) is like a high end Starbucks. $13 mcmuffins, $7 coffee, $6 muffins and $15 turkey sandwiches. Not a hot dog in sight.
Check out the Stratosphere. Her video was ok. Los Olivos on DI for the best Italian food on a budget, bring your fav wine and make sure to get a reservation

Aaahhh this was such a fun video...love the first few notes of "Hey Big Spender" at the beginning. :) My boyfriend and I go to Vegas a few times a year, and it's always fun to hear about great deals, specials, etc., that we didn't know about before. The aquarium is always so nice (yay myVegas or MLife Rewards), and ya can't beat a cheap good breakfast to start the day. :) Oh! The yard long drinks inside New York New York I've always found to be cheaper than on the Strip. Great pours too, and a few bucks less. Ellis Island was a good call. I don't know if they still have the "build your own margarita" for $5 anymore. I also like Ocean One Grille at the Miracle Mile Shops. Cheap breakfast, lunch and dinner. Oh and booze!
Another fun free thing you could have done at Mandalay Bay: after you go to the shark reef, you can use that ticket to get into the Mandalay Bay pools.
@@l.a.woman564 the last time I did it, it was Pre-COVID so you might need to look into it but the way we did it was: -we got a Shark reef reward from myvegas slots (I think you could purchase a ticket as well) - got the reward voucher from the mlife desk. I was in Vegas a couple weeks ago and tried to get to Blondies for their breakfast special. I got there at 10:45 and they said they just stopped serving breakfast ☹️ But fortunately La Salsa cantina was right there so I went there instead
The thing about the breakfast special though, yes, it's $4.99, but there is no coffee included in the deal. If you are okay with having your breakfast just with water, then it's fine. But the cost of coffee is just as much as the breakfast itself, so if you add coffee, tax and tip, your breakfast is now around $15.00 per person. And I come to Vegas solo almost every time, and you can get a much nicer breakfast for about $5.00 more.
I’ve watched so many of your videos Ruby and thank you. My question is this….when booking is it cheaper to do Expedia and book a package or book hotel through their website with these promotions??
I've heard her say before to book directly with the hotel so you can get points on your players card. If you book thru a 3rd party (expedia, travelocity, etc) you don't earn points on your room... I believe. I'd check each hotel. The MGM resorts have their best rates on their sites
I work at a hotel, albeit not in Las Vegas. We treat guests who book directly with us much better than those who book with Expedia (because Expedia et al are just bargain shoppers and unlikely to be loyal even if we give them a great stay),, and we match an advertised rate elsewhere. Great video!! My last couple of trips the only time we didn't walk was to go to the outlet mall. We walked everywhere, every day!! Sore feet but let's be honest, I'm cheap and would rather have money for something else besides the train lol MyVegas gold coins are definitely worth using. 👌
I missed the part about how much you spent on your hotel room. I honestly expected you to hike all the way north on the strip to get a room at the Gold Spike and then maybe eat a few $1 dollar tacos with your change if you were lucky.
We never eat breakfast on vacation. We get up around 8 am, take a shower, and snack on crackers, peanut butter, a banana. When we go downstairs, we do get a latte. Then lunch in a restaurant.

I;m going to las vegas with my husband next Friday and I've been watching your videos love them
Ruby, that long line into the Barber Shop at the Cosmo is a speakeasy.
Check out my most recent Cosmopolitan video we go inside! Thats why I thought it was funny the lady said it because its a secret!
Great video!! My last couple of trips the only time we didn't walk was to go to the outlet mall. We walked everywhere, every day!! Sore feet but let's be honest, I'm cheap and would rather have money for something else besides the train lol MyVegas gold coins are definitely worth using. 👌
CVS great for drinks too
I missed the part about how much you spent on your hotel room. I honestly expected you to hike all the way north on the strip to get a room at the Gold Spike and then maybe eat a few $1 dollar tacos with your change if you were lucky.
What is the My Vegas app you mentioned?
I'm definitely trying this challenge next time I'm in town!
Love your videos Ruby! There's a lot of great info in this one, but when I go to Vegas, no way am I eating Taco Smell...lol
We never eat breakfast on vacation. We get up around 8 am, take a shower, and snack on crackers, peanut butter, a banana. When we go downstairs, we do get a latte. Then lunch in a restaurant.
