Thought on Luxor's Buffet?
Would you eat here?
Stayed there last August, thought the buffet was alright. I’d go again! The free mimosas were a great addition haha
nope, we had it in December... gross!! I really tried to like it, but could not
Back in 2017 it was pretty good. Now it’s cafeteria quality and pig slop.
At $17, it's fine, as long as you're selective with what you put on your plate. But, we've had much better luck at Pyramid Cafe. I would never paid full price for this buffet.
We ate there twice on our last trip. Really awful. I'm a breakfast person and it was the worst breakfast food I've ever eaten. So the answer is no I would not eat there again.
The best part of the entire video was the look and your face after the bite of the raspberry cake! Thanks for taking one for the team Ruby!
"Oh, that's horrible. I don't like that." You crack me up! 😂
Ya I think I know where I’m NOT going to eat at !! 😂
Luxor has been at the top of our 'worst buffet in Vegas' list for a very very long time. Thank you for preventing us from needing to go this year because it looks like they're going to win again for 2024.
It's $17!! What are/were you expecting? Lol.
@@otrebla8944 It's not though, unless you have a MyVegas voucher for it. Otherwise $30.99 - then it feels expensive.
@@otrebla8944Best post in 2024 💯
@@otrebla8944Exactly, your paying $17 dollars and expecting gourmet food be real
@@otrebla8944 It's only $17 for My Vegas users, the full price is $31.
"When I get a cooked one, they're really good." 😂😂 You are too nice to these companies Ruby!!
Agree😂
One potato, 🥔 two potato 🥔🥔
lmao
Your reaction to the raspberry Swiss roll is one for the ages.
Thanks for honest review. That is why I watch your video.
"Uneven cooking seems to be the theme here." LOL The last time I ate at the old Pharaoh's Pheast buffet was in 2012. The first time was back in 2003. In those days it was top quality for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They had a section for Mediterranean cuisine, rivaled only by the same at the Spice Market Buffet inside the old Aladdin Hotel (Planet Hollywood).
Thanks for the update. Back in the early 2000s. The property was high value and quality which included the buffet which cost around $12.
My best guess is that buffets are in their final decline. I expect some will survive but I doubt the hotels on the strip will retain much longer and choose to replace with food courts.
In terms of cheap buffets, I would agree. And not just in Vegas but really all across the country. They were on the decline even before covid. Most of them have simply never re-opened. I still think certain kinds of buffets will exist. Brazilian BBQs come to mind. Again, not cheap by any means, but the price point *should* reflect the food quality and overall dining experience you're going to get at one. Also mongolian grills because essentially every plate you get is going to be freshly cooked and made to order. I happen to love buffets so I certainly do miss them.
@@Singleballtheory I guess you get what you pay for. In the general way that the cost of everything in Vegas is going, it doesn't add up that the AYCE concept can stack up against the general need to scrape more and more revenue per visitor.
I'm a Brit who happens to love visiting Vegas ... buffets here are reasonably rare but food courts are becoming omnipresent, I guess it's very on-trend right now but that's going to kill buffets even faster (imho) and I believe there's quite a few Vegas buffets who've already succumbed to the 'conversion'
Buffets in general in Vegas are either terrible and cheap or very expensive and good. Back when I started going in 2010 they were so much better
That Vegas is dead my friend (and it is never coming back from what it seems), just keep the good memories and never go back. That is what I did at least, so much of the world left to explore
@@FurrKnightI remember Caesar’s buffet was like 30-40 around 2013. Now it’s damn near $100. Insane
I know. It was an observation I was making not an expectation of change.@@FurrKnight
That's because Vegas is so crowded now they just have to decide will they cater to the Walmart crowd and cook massive unseasoned goop or cater to the Uber Chic and rich ASF like The Wynn. There is no more Buffet Middle Ground.
@@Piggy-Oink-Oink there really isn’t a middle class in the US anymore. Damn shame
First time I've ever seen you laugh at how bad something tasted......Thanks for the heads-up!
Got a trip planned in the very near future and have been watching your videos for reviews of all kinds, especially food options. Thank you for all the honest reviews. It's been quite helpful in weighing out cost versus quality versus location versus overall experience. I'm feeling pretty confident about not only where we're going to be staying but also our itinerary while we're there. Thanks again!
Did Luxor buffet once and didn't have any complaints. But then I ate mostly breakfast 🥞 food and didn't do dessert. Omelette station was terrific.
No buffet anywhere blows me away, regardless of price. They are mostly cheap food. But I love finding excellent food at excellent prices. You get what you pay for @ Luxor.
Purpose of buffets is to eat as much as you can. It's quantity over quality. So stick with food that doesn't require much skill to cook like eggs, sausage and bacon. That's why breakfast buffets work well for me. Sauces require more skill. If I load up on breakfast I can skip lunch and have a light dinner. Saves me money in Vegas.
If you come to Asia, I wish you try buffets there. Miles above anything in most of the US and quality is indeed good (most of the time)
Appreciate that you keep these updated and current.
I was thinking of going to this buffet on our trip. I'm so glad you reviewed it so we knew that it wasn't worth it! I would've used my myVegas points, so glad I should use them for something else.
We're going to Vegas on a Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning. It stinks that a lot of the good/affordable buffets aren't open during that time. I wish I would have known that before we planned the days we'd be there.
Thanks for your videos! They've made planning this trip so much easier!! They're great!!!
The theming that lives on within this buffet is what brings me back. The food is not gonna be top of the line but for a decent breakfast when you want a variety of options, I think it’s a pretty good for what it is
When your initial reaction is laughter, I’m laughing with ya gal! 😂
Appreciate your honesty, Ruby! Thanks!
The look on your face when you tried the pizza and desserts were priceless you had me cracked up
I typically stay at Luxor, buffet at Excalibur. Totally worth the walk next door.
This buffet looks like the buffets from the 1990s when they charged $4.99. It was a lost leader, but they were trying to attract people into their casino to gamble.
$20 hotel rooms and $5 buffets to get people to come gamble at their establishment. Those were the days. Now they charge through the nose for EVERYTHING. Vegas is not a great place to go anymore.
That’s a good observation. Agree.
A made to order omelette or some sliced ham or turkey and side of fruit would be a good choice…and a good deal for “on strip” prices… * IF* it’s BOGO. Thank you for the review.😊
Ms. Ruby your reviews are always honest and informative I surely appreciate you.
Ruby you and your hubby doing great. Make that media so glad to see how much you've grown. I think I've been following you since you had like 10000 followers or something. Good luck glad to see it love it❤❤❤
I was debating going to the Luxor buffet this week but after your review I’m passing on it. Thanks for the honest review !
When it comes to Vegas buffets (especially post-covid), it's better to spend a bit more money and avoid places like this. There used to be some really great, less-expensive, buffets but in my experience, that's a thing of the past. Bellagio is still really good. It's not cheap but it's not $100 like Wynn and Cesar's either. I love their brunch!
@@angelaa1611 Do you know if Bellagio adds a 18% gratuity to their buffet price ? Thanks !
Link for My vegas app ?
Another great review! Whenever me and my husband plan Vegas trips, we binge all your food videos. Would LOVE to see a review on best Mocktails in Vegas! ❤
Thanks Ruby for another GREAT review, I am staying @ the Luxor next month and I did have thoughts of trying the buffet with the My Vegas coupon but I will use the buffet coupon for the MGM Grand. Thanks again.
Mr Ruby passing on the shrimp is all you need to know...
Thanks for the video on the Luxor Buffet. I appreciate the honest review.
Ty for sharing. Not too big on buffets, but definitely love your descriptions. 💕
I like your reviews, you are very honest and that's is much appreciated. I hate those youtubers that says everything is tasty and then I go to try..... huge disappointment
Thank you, glad I subscribed your channel and happy to watch all your videos.
Thank you for your reviews
The Bellagio brunch was $35 a piece after the coupon and I would say the level of quality was the same. Next time, if I must do a buffet I will do the Luxor.
Thanks for the great review Ruby! You're the BEST food reviewer!
You can always go to one of the $80 buffets. Vegas is just not a bargain anymore. They used to have tons of hotel and buffet deals and made their money from gambling. IDK if people aren’t gambling as much or if the hotels are just more greedy now.
South point has a great buffet as does main street station, both still very affordable too.
It's Greed!
Corporate greed is Vegas' new mafia type of greed.
Love your laughter at the end with the horribly dry cupcake! Thanks for making me smile!
I love her honesty!!!!!
Had the Luxor buffet a couple years back. Was not impressed either. Your Main Street Station Buffet recommendation in previous videos was spot on though, it is much better and still affordable.
love your reviews
Thank you for this Ruby - so next time we are in Vegas will skip this for sure. You have given us SO many ones that are great! xxx
Let’s cross that one of the list of must try buffets to try in Vegas
Appreciate your honesty
We got to the Luxor buffet at the end of the day. They decided to cut up the decorated cakes that were for sale…omg! So delicious! With an ice cold glass of milk….heaven!
You always do the best food reviews, Ruby! Perhaps do one about the best off-strip spots!
Brilliant video as usual!
I would rather eat at South Point buffet, or even their $1.25 hotdogs at the sportsbook.
"I loved how themed it is"... LOL... that is my first Vegas Memory, all the themed hotels! My first trip, I rode rides at the MGM Theme park!! - where the signature towers are now.
Thanks for your service 🫡 🍽️
Cheers from San Diego C.
@16:16 check out that piece of hair on the top left of the spring roll.....
Eww lol i hope it was mine it looks blonde 😅
Ugh 😮
Thank you for this review! I'll probably never get to Las Vegas, so I enjoy videos like this. I could tell those breakfast potatoes were undercooked.
Thanx for the review.. For the money I think it be best to find someplace else all together!
Ruby, your expressions on this one said it all before you described anything about the food items. Lol! Thank you for your honest opinion, and for taking one for the team.
I laughed out loud when you tried the Swiss roll 😆. I tried the Luxor buffet my first visit to Vegas about 7 years ago and it was decent, the desserts were waaayyyy better then!
Thanks for your honest opinion. I stayed at Luxor once...in 2009 ... never again....😏
I don’t know if anyone has commented on the rice but it is probably cilantro lime rice. They serve it a Chipotles. It is becoming more popular.
I always eat at the Luxor buffet whenever I’m in vegas whilst it isn’t one of the best buffets it’s certainly not bad food
Always love, respected your opinions 🥰Thanks Kitten 🐈⬛😬
I have been waiting for that buffet to come back. 😊
These videos are the absolute best! 😂 Maybe consider doing airport lounge buffet food reviews next.
That looked SO bad - I'm definitely passing on it! Thanks for taking one for the team Ruby! 😆🤣😆
You look great!1 Love the updates.
I feel that at 1/2 price that meal was ok good.Your vlog presentation and editing are always excellent!
Which camera do you use for filming? Its good !!
I was wondering about the turkey looked like it was going to be dry. Glad it was good. Thank you for your videos. I cant wait to visit vegas again it will be 20 years since ive been when i go for my 50th bday LOL so happy you do these videos that is how i'm planning my trip.
Good stuff y’all👍
😂😂😂 the pizza reaction!!!!
It's been a long time since I was in Vegas, but it seems to me that Luxor and Excalibur both need a major renovation. Good video, Ruby. Have a great week.
Thanks for taking one for the team. 😂
This is why for buffet, I will only eat at Wynn and Bachanal Buffet. I am however interested in trying out M Resort buffet she posted while back.
Never seen you gag on food before, the dry cupcake😆😆…sounds like the whole buffet was something I would walk past, quickly lol. Thanks for the info 😂🤣.
you do a great job of describing the food w/o being pretentious or acting like a master chef. great video! really glad i found your channel!
Thank you for that
Good job on this video
loved your shows, under cooked food really mad me think before I ever eat their again. thank you ( i got sick from under cooked food a few years back )
Gonna be at the Luxor in 4 weeks! Can’t wait!
@travelruby Been following you for couple years and learned a ton, Ty!! Is there a Slot game like the “MGM slots” but for Caesar’s ?? 😊
love the newer music at the start of the videos!
Ms. Ruby I really like the fact that you love to eat and SO DO I. Then again who doesn’t love to eat. I do have that app and I will make use of the coupon. Thank you for this video.
1. Rubys reaction to the Swiss roll and Cupcake has me dying with laughter
2. They should implode the Luxor
That was funny Ruby!
Thanks for taking one for the team!
U can eat this, it's not halal
Last time I stayed at the Wynn in 2018, the buffet was still delicious! Plus we were comped for one buffet each day - didn’t need much more food than that. Haven’t been back since and not sure I will ever be back.
Hey! Hope we can visit next year
We’re planning a dirty 30 / family vacation to Vegas and really appreciate the review. I can’t lie I won’t ever go to the Luxor again but I still found the review funny and helpful ! 😂
10/10 with the presentation, very well done. Come on though, the cake was so dry it was sucking the moisture out of your mouth! Literally funniest thing I've ever heard about cake
We are going to be there in May, staying at the mirage!!!
Yes! More of these videos... Cheap eats! 😀
Just came across your channel and looking forward to seeing you again.
I love the Luxor. It’s insane.
Mr. Ruby needs to eat the shrimp at these types of buffets. Take one for the team every now and then.
This might be your funniest buffet review ever. Cant stop laughing seeing your face eating that Raspberry Cake and dry as safari dessert Red Velvet Cupcake 😂
Tried it once in 2017 never went back. Does this buffet really make money?? Couldn't the space be used for anything else?
The Mexican rice you tried is similar to the lime cilantro rice recipes that come up when I google chipotle rice.
Looks like they are trying to improve. Years ago, we went, and honestly, the Golden Corral was better.
Looks so deelish!
The $20 trick worked at PH! We were upgraded to connecting suites! Also, favorite place to eat, Nacho Daddy. You should review that one! We went to both locations....stumbled upon it at Fremont Street and learned there was one right by where we were staying at the Miracle Mile! My friends had the nachos and quesadilla and I had the best chicken taco of my life and ordered it both times we went. Friendly staff. It was the best happy accident!
Was the first buffet I ever tried on my first visit to Vegas back in 1997
"It's like they put pizza toppings on top of cardboard or styrofoam." Just at this minute, an add kicked in for Quilted Northern toilet paper. I naturally thought of pizza toppings on top of toilet paper.
The expression on your face when you took a bite of that raspberry thing was priceless! I cracked up as you tried to eat it and describe it. Even years ago, the Luxor buffet was mediocre at best. But at these prices it's a hard pass! Great job Ruby, the things you do for us!
the earrings are beautiful. Was there a soft serve machine in the dessert section? I really go to a buffet for the soft serve.
“Oh, that’s so bad!” We both laughed out loud at your expression
