- Carlin Isles is one of my favorite rugby player and is the FASTEST rugby player in the world. Not only is he the fastest in rugby but is faster than a lot of other sports stars in other sports to. He even has ran faster than usian bolt by .22 seconds.

Carlin Isles (born November 21, 1989) is an American rugby union and rugby sevens player who is currently under contract with the USA sevens team. Recently, Isles was under contract with Glasgow Warriors of the Pro12.
Isles currently plays rugby for the United States national sevens rugby team. Isles had been touted as the fastest rugby player in the world. During a workout with the Detroit Lions Isles ran a time of 4.22 seconds in the 40-yard dash, the fastest time recorded that year.

Carlin went to my highschool. I once tackled him in american football as a linebacker on a blitz in youth league ( maybe 12 to 14 years old). I was 15 lbs bigger...upon a helmet to helmet tackle, i lost consciousness for a couple seconds in a game. Like a feather hitting you at 1 million mph. He only had 4 or 5 yards to accelerate. Hit me like a feather at 1 million mph...made the tackle. But damn...this guy has my respect. Good dude.

I wish rugby was taken more seriously in the U.S. I'm playing for my college club right now and were struggling to even field enough people. I've fallen in love with the spirt and would love to see it grow. If anybody wants to come and play for SFASU rugby then come to east Texas. We would live to have you.

I would love to see a US national rugby league. We have so many college track and field athletes. The Olympics is pretty much it after college and there aren't very many open slots. All that athletic talent in our college track and field guys could be put into a professional rugby league. Shot puters, discus throwers and decathletes would make great big guys. Obviously sprinters would make great sprinters, who would have guessed. And the others like pole vault, javelin, high jump would easily fill out the rest of the team. These people come out of college and just have no where to go with all that athleticism. Lets put them on a rugby pitch and see what they can do.

Carlin Isles was pretty much the fastest player in the NFL when he was (briefly) in it. He didn't quite make it as a rugby player, only having 1 season with Glasgow and never playing for the 1st team. He was probably a bit small and that affected his defence. I kinda wished he hadn't been capped for the US. Then we could have kept him in Glasgow and worked on his defence and he could have played for Scotland cos he was a hell of a runner.
Isles never made a roster or played a game in the NFL.
He wouldnt be good in 15s. Hes not physical at all he would get punished every game. He doesnt have the skills and doesnt really have a side step, so he wont even get to run in free space.

Carlin isles has no step, just straight line speed which makes him very ineffective in 15s because theres no space. And shane has a more solid build he could take punishment, carlin isles gets run over a lot even in 7s. Not to mention skills

Not to be like America! But if 95% of our best athletes didnt play a game no one else in the world plays, then I think the world would truly understand how we do sports in the 🇺🇸 we start at like 6yrs old and dont stop until after college and most of us dont make it. But almost exclusively American football and basketball, which is getting better globally but we stopped using our pros again if you haven't noticed (in fiba and Olympics).

Well in a well developed sport, you would have s combination of everything. There are teams/players in football that specialise in speed, there are teams that are defensive, there are technical sides etc. If Rugby does not incorporate various styles of play, then that is ridiculous. Speed has always been one of the fundamental aspects of sport. Power cannot be the only element.
