It's a 'Glowworm' bought out by Vaillant. Unlike other Vaillants it has an inferior aluminium heat exchanger and is more difficult to install and maintain. It's a bit CHEAPER but certainly NOT BETTER than the PRO or PLUS range which are superb models!!

That's useful. Thought 🤔 my plumber was being tight and putting this in. I'd rather 200 quid more for a better boiler....

Yeah i think its also inbred with Heatline aswell😂 i wasnt too keen on these at first as the connections underneath are complicated and squashed together. On the plus side the fact you can have the rear outlet option for flue.

How have you complied with the Boiler+ regulations that came into force in 2018, if all you have used is a mechanical clock and standard Honeywell mechanical room thermostat???

    Hi Mark,
What’s your views on a Vailant vs a Worcester Bosch, what would you go for?
I’m asking as my current combination boiler Soinier Duvall, is 16 years old and we are re fitting the kitchen and are told it’s at the end of its life, working ok though but thinking is a good time to replace it now when we are doing the kitchen.
    Any advice appreciated.
    Thanks David.
Ps what boiler do you have?

Both boiler are good. Just depends on your preference

Agree with last comment. Vaillant, Worcester and Ideal. All top ranking boilers in the UK.
What you should bear in mind is that it doesn't matter which boiler you get these days they are all extremely complicated and have expensive components within them.
So having the extended guarantees really is a bonus.

All modern boilers are high-performance machines squeezing every ounce of energy out of your gas.
I regularly compare them to modern day hi performance racing cars.
You wouldn't put dirty old 20 year old tractor fuel in a high performance car.
And yet we take a high-performance boiler and stick it on a 20 or 30 year old radiator system and expect it to run perfectly for 20 years.
No matter how much flushing and cleaning is done on an old system there will always be dirt in it. Filters help considerably reduce magnet damage but does not stop it.
Even in brand new systems Which are well treated.
Over years magnetite still built-up affecting boiler performance and eventually it will kill it.

I have a vaillant ecomax 835 in my house and it has run pretty much without any problems.

Also bear in mind all the manufacturers have different models in general the more expensive ones are better having said that my preferred boiler would be the Vaillant ecotec pro. it's just more reliable!

To purge the p.00 system as I can hear air in boiler. Do I just open the black valve below it to right? I guess screw left to open. Bloody plumber can't help me for weeks zzzzz.

combi boiler. I normally make sure there is enough pressure in the system1.5 bar, then run heating. That should pump air out of the boiler.
Turn the hot tap on and off whilst heating is on to remove all air. Then bleed of air from rads, top up boiler.
That's what I do 99% of the time.
Works fine unless there are other problems.

@@MarkBallardLTD thank you so much I will try this. Thank you thank you. I did the purge programme today and it seems to have worked too. They all have different ways the valve works too. Not sure why the instructions are so vague.

    Hi Mark,
This boiler does not have good reviews, do you recommend this boiler

    • @MarkBallardLTD
      @MarkBallardLTD  2 года назад

I have used this boiler many times and they are workings absolutely fine, But I would recommend spending more and getting the Vaillant ecotec Pro or Plus boilers they have stainless steel heat exchangers and there's a couple of other thing I proffer in these boiler as an engineer. The Pro is the most reliable in my opinion,

That boiler isn't going to win any prizes for looks. I'd go with Worcester Bosch.
