is this compatible with existing solar panels? looking to remove the current boiler and cylinder to upgrade to Combi but the property has an existing solar panel heating the water. i have read mixed reviews, some saying it is and others saying no. also need rear flue.
If you have solar hot water and are wanting to remove your cylinder this will render the solar heating redundant. Solar hot water systems are usually designed as a pre-heat for a solar compatible cylinder.
Hey Opentherm is achievable with the VR33 module from vaillant them selves, then you'd have to use their controllers too. Out the box you are correct only eBus is available. Out of interest, what are you wanting to achieve with opentherm? Is it the extra info at a glance for example?
@@iheat I was more looking to explore the savings experienced through being able to modulate the boilers heating itself. I have a Nest thermostat and that does support opentherm. I have read about the VR33 module, but also understand this is not supported in the UK?
I was wondering can anyone tell me what’s the difference between Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 415 Vs Vaillant ecoFIT pure 415 a bit cheaper vs Vaillant ecoFIT Sustain 415 much cheaper no longer in Vaillant products list Thanks
Plus is flagship has best reviews, overall great monster of a boiler. Pure is entry level but does have the rear flue option which may be more suited to your needs. The sustain is for housing contracts and not for supply to public sadly
hi, I have just installed this boiler ecofit pure 30kw through our local gas engineer. When I asked about Shock arrestor to be installed they said it's not necessary for this boiler. Is it true? Thank you.
Shock arrestors are what we would call "best practice". They're not mandatory in most cases, but they help protect parts inside your boiler from damage and help avoid issues with water hammer and back flow. All down to the engineer on the day, they're rather inexpensive so I imagine the local engineer went with his gut on this one.
Fit them on occasions, basically the same as the Glowworm energy. Often makes me wonder, how the heatline again identicall bar the casing, display board and a few very minor differences such as flue turret can be sold for around £750 less lol.
When you find the cheat codes for good marketing and brand recognition let us know! Its an argument as old as the hills haha! To be fair there are various quality of life improvements as you move up the ranges and things like improved build quality and component construction, but we take your point, when we look at the Alpha range - how they can fit all the parts in and keep the price so low we'll never know!
What are you talking about with the warranty? 😂 It’s not a 10 year warranty from I-heat, it’s 10 years from the manufacturer when registered by any vaillant advance installer, bullshit merchant you are.
Had this boiler (830 - combi) fitted today, with Hive - and absolutely loving it.... 🎉
Great to hear! Wish you all the best with it!
Do you mind me asking what the cost was for the boiler and labour?

You mention it has opentherm compatibility, i cant find any references to that in their docs, only eBus, is thst right?

Right now, I have an i-mini 24. Would you recommend this boiler as a replacement?
Hey 100% very similiar form factor, most likely an easy swap if staying in same location. Great powerful boiler and Vaillant a well renown brand.
