I was sadly born in the wrong time, I never was able to experience this, seeing many airlines from different parts of US and the world. I wish things would’ve been different…
The good'ole days of SJU when I was a kid. Seeing how busy the airport was back then just brings t so many happy memories. Sad to see what the airport is now.
Spent lots of time in San Juan as a kid at the Aeroparque watching takeoffs and landings. Watching the video makes me feel like I'm 10 again. Nice job!
Waow , what memories from the mid 1990s , This video made cry. What great memories seeing all these legacy airlines that are non existent today. Memories of our former AA SJU HUB with 74 mainline and 66 regional. I miss working out from this airport SJU. HUGS to all who knew about era that will NEVER RETURN. Regards to all from AA MIAMI HUB.
Herbert Carillo I so miss those days at SJU even though I’m young and missed out on the true good days, but I was lucky enough to experience SJU when it still had a bit of life left in it. Terminal D filled with mainline planes, flights to much more cities than now. The ATRs were my favorite
The plane at 1:06 is a United Parcel Service (UPS) DC-8-73. The strakes on the engines are the easiest identifier that it is a -73, if it had no strakes it's a DC-8-71.
There was a second (and later, third) incarnation of Pan Am that was formerly Carnival Air Lines and operated in the late '90s. The A300 in the video may have been one of theirs.
I will be going into KFLL frequently this year 2k15 so wanted to see their airport, eventhough this is an older video. I will purchase it this new year. I am curious: according to JP's sales (and youtube viewing) figures I assume there are more airport video viewers than cockpit video viewers, as one must be into flying a particular bird so sit through a cockpit demonstration of a couple hours, whereas the variety of what you see in airport vids are almost endless. Am I correct? Happy and blessed newest year to all.
1:23 that A300 was flying so slow and nearly stalled while landing
Miss those times. Great tjsj
Amazing spotting!!!
The busiest and largest airport in the Caribbean. What a memories.
So sad to see that the airport is not that active now. The AA Terminal in this video looks like a big international airport terminal
1:05 N784T is from 1942!
@1:38: DC3 (Dakota) is always the cutest, most beautiful bird of all times!

Yep. Back when the government owned the airport.

Right
Wow!!!! Good times.
The Pan Am A300 came about as the result of the 1998 merger between Pan Am (II) and Carnival Airlines, from where the A300s and B737-400s came

A real thank you, so much nostalgia in one video. So much of it gone...

1:06
How is possible that TWA and Pan Am flew in 2001 if both finish service before 2000's? 🤔
Just wondering, how is there a Pan Am A310 if Pan Am went bankrupt in 1991
what a classic! glade you guys were there and were able to video tape history miss all those airliners some good memories thanks justplanes.
I still have this video on VHS plus a bunch of others.

Wonderful video! great memories
As a retired ZSU Apch controller from the 1990's
, this video sure brings back the memories!
2001 + Pan Am?!?!?! IMPOSSIBLE!
Who says it was still flying for Pan Am then? Could've been a lease before repaint...it's not cheap to repaint an airliner...
That reincarnation Pan am but not original pan am
@PlaneWatch001 that reincarnation pan am
@@travisgamble8765 that reincarnation pan am but not original pan am just name
Thanks for sharing! I remember those nostalgic, good ol' days!
Very welcome!
Yo quiero volver a Putero Rico
The memories...back when SJU was a busy airport and saw diversity of equipment (DC3s to DC10s, defunct airlines to those still operating).
wow.. really cool video
Good video!
The DC-3 N784T was a plane I flew for about a year, so of the three times it appears in the video that could have me flying it.
That’s amazing! From 1942! From what I could find it stopped flying in 2008. What a life it had!
San Juan at its prime :) still is the busiest and largest airport in the Caribbean :)
yes, almost tail strike
This is amazing! I love seeing all these classics from back in the day at SJU
The Red Convair Crashed about 2 weeks ago in the lagoon after taking off runway 10 killing both pilots. :(
How much would shipping to Puerto Rico be?
absolutely brilliant!!!!
Many classics in this video, WOW!!!

Wow did not know Just panes came to P.R :)
I have this DVD, & I still watch it! Do you have any plans on returning to our beautiful island & perhaps make a sequel?
Not in the near future but hopefully at some point...
Douglas Dc-8
DC3; Dakota
at 2:19 taking off the 767-300 was that Air 2000 at the time ?
Iberia DC-10... and A343! Cant be that old!
....and PAN AM too? Wow, very OLD!
I like this. But what is the plane on 1:06?
Vic Hament Douglas DC-8
Was Pan Am still in service? Amazing video.
There was an attempt to revive it. Same name different owners. Another possibility is that it was an old pan am plane wet leased and not repainted.
McDonnell Douglas DC-8
How old is this? TWA and Pan Am?!!!
TWA close in 2001 pan am is reincarnation four time but not original pan am just name
Is this airport in france?
San Juan, Puerto Rico

Happy and blessed newest year to all.
Sad not to see a DOMNICANA DE AVIACIÓN metal, a daily visitor to SJU.

It's been a while ago for sure.
Make more sju
