Here are some clips of our very 1st filming in 1991/92 at Boston. Those videos are now released as downloads with tons of historic footage. Visit www.justplanes....
Oh. My. Flashback. The good ol' days when the Air Canada livery was beautiful, the 747 dominated the Tarmac, and Federal Express was still blue and red! Oh my how the times have changed! Ah, those L-1011s and DC-9s...sweet Lord I miss seeing the old American chrome, and who could forget the venerable DC-10? Probably one of the best videos on this channel :) *LIKED!*
@@bojam_83 The FedEx 747's were acquired after buying Flying Tigers (hence the hybrid livery) and were only in the fleet for a brief period after the takeover.
Wow, thanks for the trip back in time! DC-8's DC-9's, 707's, Convair's 727's, etc! What a time! The days where JT3D's, JT8D's, JT9D's, CF6's and many others made thunderous music! Man I miss it! I remember Sud Caravelle's on the ramp when I was a kid.... Golden age!
Wish there are plane spotting videos from 1960s, 1970s, 1980s etc, love seeing retro liveries and Airlines that are defunct today but in its glory days back then
the Aer Lingus 747,s i still remember flying on them back in the 80,s ..my first time was at age 7 in 1983 going from Dublin to Faro in Portugal .i recall as a young boy looking out at the sheer size of the wing and engines as we taxied past some cessnas ..
Got to sit in the jump seat behind the captain to and from Faro by flashing my PPL licence. After 911 was told I was the last person to be allowed into the cockpit. Sad!
@@Phyrescape What was Braniff 3? The last Braniff that I remember had a white color with a blue belly that ran up the tail, and the word Braniff was red in Blade Runner font. Tell me more about Braniff 3.....
Always great videos, Just Planes! My Dad is from Quincy, Mass. and has family back there, and we used to fly United Economy from Denver to Boston a lot! Back in 1992, you still got a full meal in economy, but that changed several years later, and I always wonder why? Anyhow, Happy Thanksgiving!
what do you think the odds are of ANY of those planes still flying or are still in Service today????? Probably would bet a lot of these are sitting at that plane boneyard we've all heard about...
Andrew Silva jep, though I reckon some will have been used as cargo aircraft and maybe still are in use today! By the way I miss the variety of different airlines the way it was in America. Things have changed
The Sabena A310 in the video (D-AIDA) flew for Condor and Lufthansa, is now more than 32 years old and still in service for German Air Force (Luftwaffe)
What was the plan on that first day, @justplanes ? Was there a business plan in place already for producing and selling the footage, or did you film the airport and then later realize it could be a marketable product? How did you do it?
Awesome video but my God the quality from that time frame lol! Today my phone records in 4K... back then a phone came in a briefcase with no camera lol
Um,... I'm pretty sure Braniff wasn't in "flying colors" in the 90s. Last I remember, it wasn't the same company anymore and had a completely different livery. If Braniff even reached the 90s that is....
There must have been a lot of diversions.... KLM, Aerolineas Argentinas, UTA Cargo, AOM French Airlines, BWIA, Air Aruba, Air Libertè, UltrAir... JKF must have been closed or rerouted those aircraft due to weather.
My gosh! I wish we could have some of those airlines back. Absolutely lovely video (as usual).

Wow. Huge thanks for sharing this one. Super Like!
Man, that was the hayday of aviation. MGM Grand Air?!
That takes me back ! I remember that Shamrock 747 , unfortunately I never got to fly on it but I saw it a few times at Dublin Airport
brilliant! Thanks for sharing!

lake fire 747 to faro?
Do u think the Boeing 777 are too expensive to run nowadays especially with so many air lines having them.
And that awesome livery! Better than this stupid eurowhite copypaste
Xcoea Gaming and more.
They use A330s on that route still.
Got to sit in the jump seat behind the captain to and from Faro by flashing my PPL licence. After 911 was told I was the last person to be allowed into the cockpit. Sad!
You know it's old when Braniff is there...
SuperChris153
RIP Braniff
That was actually Braniff THREE can you believe it? The SAME LIVERY AS BRANIFF 1... THAT WAS AWESOME!!!

Wow, I was -2 years old at that time! Remarkable footage!
Wow!!! You guys are amazing
Like x1000! Fantastic! Thank you!
Thanks for a pleasant stroll down Memory Lane.
Great to see these old carriers, that was the day. The competition has left the system.
The lower the bypass ratio, the happier I get. Great video.
thanks men thankkss
It's great to see all these old birds and their liveries
Excellent footage.
1:41 N141JR built in 1944 (presumably for WW2 service) is possibly (?) still occasionally flown.

Wow back then EI Aer Lingus had 747s wish they still had them
Nice admixture. Is the Key Air 727 the D. B. Cooper 727? No it is not N29KA. It is N39KA.
Aer lingus, it's hard to beat the Irish !
Of course.
@@j.o.1516 How about a nice game of rugby 😉
Private Jet-now that is a rare sighting indeed!
Good old legendary airplanes...
So many old planes!
Please find and release some 80s footage. I would die to see Northwest Orient Airlines!
that's gold!!
Glad seeing aer lingus 2 occasions. Shame the livery of double decker planes ceased for our national air liner.
Awesome
3:39 What on earth was doing a AR's 747 in Boston??? They never flew there!!
Maybe diverted.
That Ultra air was the cleanest one
Is that British Airways 747 still in service? What's the code that the plane goes under
With what kind of camera is this filmed?
Great old liveries
ATA/TWA hybrid, Air France with UAL nose cone, 2 NW liveries, lots of oddball stuff going on back then.
britsh airways has the most 747's in service the rest of the 747's are now cargo planes.
Did you guys have a thing for the AW 757s? Because I could swear there's at least one in all of your videos!
Nothing wrong with that! 🤗👍
Is this a reupload? I remember seeing some of the footage somewhere...
1:35 did ATA kept the TWA livery???
Awesome video but my God the quality from that time frame lol! Today my phone records in 4K... back then a phone came in a briefcase with no camera lol
I miss those twa colors and flying on the727sanddc10s
DC 9's and 707's at the ramp. You dont see that anywhere in the world anymore
Lennart3021 Iran :D
Luckyli
never knew aer lingus had a 747
Ther had Three.. EI-ASI, EI-ASJ and EI-BED.
Shea300zxTT Yes Aerlingus had at least 2 or 3 that flew to the USA
Unfortunately we don't have double decker anymore. Shame
Big shocker for me
everyone had a jumbo
Taesa airlines @ 2:25
1:28 DC-9-14 series, my hometown airline!
3:53 United nose cone?
Wow! A DC-3!
Nowadays we only have those wimpy computerised boeing and airbus plastic tubes
Muita Saudade desses Veteranos

Ah the golden age :)

Oh! What do you have?! Anything from the 80s?!!! Please share with us!!!!
Too bad there werent any of the commuters on here. except maybe the Northwest Airlink Metroliner taxiing in the background.
4:19 thumbnail
This was what started it all and my national flag carrier was the final shot
D-AIDA still flying
Yep. Converted to frighter in 1996, now in service for German Air Force under registration 10+24.
There must have been a lot of diversions.... KLM, Aerolineas Argentinas, UTA Cargo, AOM French Airlines, BWIA, Air Aruba, Air Libertè, UltrAir... JKF must have been closed or rerouted those aircraft due to weather.
Planes then were less safer than today, It was normal to have 1 or 2 major crashes a year in theUS.
I never saw an air lingus B747-400
eeeehg aerolineas argentinas PAPA
The end of Braniff.
I saw the title pic and i was like ‘ cool an are lingus 747’ and at 4:13 1 saw it
Choice!
usair begins with youuu!
Safe to say that none of those planes in this video are flying anywhere anymore. Maybe the 757..
Kovboi
Safe is the word.
I see death traps compared to today’s airliners.
Iimpressive airline variety. ALL with nice paintschemes unlike today's white-plane with only painted tail garbage
old school FedEx... 747 !!
Yes, those were great!
Horrible memories of the DC10 days.
Aww, sorry that you have bad memories. The DC-10 is one of my favorite airliners of all time. Cheers.
Some Real Shit Paint Jobs & Tri-Engine Dinos here ... Although I have to confess , Most of My trans-atlantic flights Were D-C 10's ...
