I'm a workaholic at heart but I'm really struggling to find a healthy balance that isn't too distant or too obsessed. Either way, I'm just glad this year is finally over so I can move forward. When I was a small child my family picked on me for being "elf like". I was small, short, and had pointy-ish ears. They used elf bowling like a threat to me. I cause mischief? Elf bowling. I cracked a funny joke? Elf bowling. I exist? Take me Elf bowling. This video unlocked years of forgotten trauma. I was given an elf hat for my birthday to solidify it. They called it "Christmas in July". My birthday cake was cupcakes in the shape of a Christmas tree. Thank you, Alex. Now I have realized my greatest fears. I'm afraid of Santa Claus. For a movie about Bowling, at 3:15 they got the scoring all wrong. Santa’s frames score is impossible given he has a 300 total score and all strikes, he should have had 30/60/90/etc. in the frames.
I remember being a kid at a cousins house who lived like a state away from me. We were in her room and she was like "do you wanna watch a movie" and I was like yeah, so she pulls out the DvD to Elf Bowling and warns me that its really sad. This is the legacy this movie has to me. That my kid cousin thought it was really really sad and had to warn me about it

I feel like they’re entire excuse for why that’s a good idea is probably “well the nightmare before Christmas is a Halloween Christmas movie and that’s super successful so it’s a great idea”

so in fourth grade my choir did a performance called "a pirate Christmas" and so when you ask "why are their pirates" my first thought was,"isn't that obvious?" before I realised it is very much not and really doesn't make any sense at all not even in my choir performance ten years ago

I remember this game… but if memory serves, Santa’s elves attempted to unionize and went on strike, so Santa decided to become the strike breaker by hitting them with a bowling ball. You could kill a deer by missing really badly and an elf would occasionally get its head ripped off. Oh, and if you don’t get all the elves they’d insult you. “That all the balls you got, Santa?” Sticks out in my memory. Yeah this should have stuck closer to the source material. I think that would have been funnier.
