You asked him to settle down after calling him a monster . Of course , he wants to throw you up in the air but he realized this bloke ain’t worth it. Lol 😂
What a beauty and how impressive, It is a pity that the man has taken him almost to the edge of extinction only because of his fangs and his thirst for greatness.
We should never blame the elephant for anything on these visits to their world. Scott probably should have maintained more distance, but he did a hell of job keeping his composure and maintaining order versus the true "King of the Jungle".
@@fullton3499 I think a lot of guides have learned much more even in the four years that have passed by since he did this drive. His result was actually a great training video (unplanned of course) for him and other guides that shows the possible negative effect and how to recover if you do screw up. He was not the only one to goof during that period. I actually enjoy his excitement, presentation, and knowledge about the animals in Africa (including the Maasai Mara).
@@jeffer2350 Oh please! My dad took us to the KNP 50 years ago! He knew nothing about animals but knew not to get too close and not to aggravate elephants. Useless guide! Should not be working in this occupation at all. Not with animals, not with guests.
IT'S THE MOST AWESOME EXPERIENCE...... My Mother & I had the privilege of being surrounded by A Matriarch and her family.... The Matriarch was two meters from Our Vehicle's door, she was feeding... Our Engine was off, a Mother with a baby walked upto our vehicles back wheels, smelt them with her trunk, was quite happy for us to stay standing there, she gently lay her trunk on the trunk / boot of the car, waited for her littlest one to pass, lifted her trunk and walked off... The Matriarch continued to feed, IT WAS AN EXTREMELY HUMBLING EXPERIENCE.... ❤🌟🐘🌟🌟🐘🌟🌟🐘❤🌟🐘❤
Here’s an idea.....How about leaving this elephant, and all other wildlife for that matter, THE HELL ALONE!! This is his territory and you’re annoying him!! Following him to the mud hole and pulling up right beside him was really ridiculous on your part!
@Mindy I actually think it is cute when an Ellie pokes holes in the side of a car. I love their feisty nature. When a 10,000 lb highly intelligent animal only pokes holes in a car when he could have done worse, I think that's cute and almost affectionate. PLEASE DON'T ANTAGONIZE THE LARGEST LAND ANIMAL ON EARTH. LOL
Scott shouldn't have let him get so close to car because the elephant was given no indication of a boundary so ellie kept doing what he wanted to. He thought it was ok to touch the car. Then, when it was too late, the car having been touched, he was finally "told" that there was a boundary after all and that he had crossed it. In the second sighting, Scott, who was well aware that, while the elephant wasn't upset, he was in the mood to mess around, like youngish bulls will sometimes do. I was absolutely shocked when Scott chose to situate the car down the bank, from top of dam. This elephant's previous behavior showed that he needed extra space, an important fact Scott hadn't considered. He plainly crossed the elephant's boundary. Afterward, Scott said it's easy to look back on what he might have done differently, like raising his voice more. While I understand he was shaken up, he was only focused on his reaction after the fact. I was surprised that he didn't include looking back to the beginning of that event and asking himself what caused the elephant's behavior in the first place - parking way too close! I think Scott is a fantastic guide. I do hope he thought about the sightings, in total, once he had calmed down.
Hi! Thank you, MsDebbiB! Your opinion means a lot to me because of all of your experience observing so many guide presentations, which enables you to have seen a huge variety of guides and sightings. Also, you are very caring, to help ensure that viewers, new and old, have easy access to past live safaris! I have recommended people see these videos by finding your name. Thank you for all of your work!
Jennifer Sherman i asked myself that too...to me the elephant didnt look angry just curious and playful but still I think maybe Scott should had given him more space
I would've shat myself for sure, there's no question about it a nice freshly baked loaf in my briefs. Absolutely great video and commentary , brilliant just brilliant!!!!!!
This was an incredible sighting! I was watching it live and I was holding my breath. Mr. Hole in Ear Ellie is a naughty boy. He has a history of pushing the boundaries. Now, he's in musth and everyone is avoiding him. He's in need of ellie etiquette!
So an elephant shows he doesn't want them around and what do they do? They go out and hunt him down for another encounter. Stupid behavior by these guys. The elephant showed better judgement than those idiots.
How stupid! Telling an Elephant his behavior is unacceptable! Hey human .. it’s your behavior that is unacceptable! Stay out of their home and let them live in peace!
A teenage male pushing his luck but what a dangerous situation the guide was in. One slap of that trunk into the guide's head could've broken his neck! This boy already showed he was in a pushy mood why take a chance?
Potamuus I'm so glad to see Scotty during the Mara drives. He has a wonderful way of talking about the animals and what's going on around him. I wish he'd come back to guide.at Djuma again!
Seen numerous Safari live drives, never seen Daryl. He's just being himself and showing his personality so all the guides should be aware of his behaviors. He seemed to just be messing with him but obviously could do serious damage!
I know this fairly well. I have come across him 3 times within the Kruger park. On one occasion he was in full musth and had me reversing for a kilometer he never charged and was adamant he was going to have my side of the road and just kept on pushing me back at his fast pace. The other 2 events were nothing much out of the ordinary watching him munching on some branches.
MsDebbiB I have a question. An elephant's trunk has 2 nostrils. When they spray water on their backs and spray dust on their backs, how do they do that without making mud in their trunks? Can they close one side of the nostril, and, one is for dust and the other for water? Or do they just wait for their trunks to dry out first?
The Elephant was just signing that He is in charge there. Accept that you are just human and act upon it. That Gaint was very gentle with you. You 'll never make friends when you try to look bigger then you are.
I forgot to mention this bloke in the vehicle presented, and handled this situation very well. I loved the remark about Ellie " being a radical in his youth " re the hole in his ear where the earring went. A punk rock elephant. That's as good the piano playing cat
The driver knows little about elephants! That animal was frustrated and angry!! When they push their tusks into the earth it shows what they want to do to their enemies,' He was NOT playing in the mud!
Maybe he just wanted to show you how great he looked in mud. I think he was just telling you the second time "hey, I thought I told you guys to leave. Why are you following me?"
My Dear Man you did GO SO CLOSE TO HIM...AND TWICE SO ....A MUDDY BAD WAS ON THIS TIME...HAHAHAAA..OR NOT??😁😃😄😅😂😊🤔🤔😊☺☺🤗🤗 thank u for this video..nice xxx.
Your camera man did not let us see what the elephant was doing the second time he approached so you had to describe it. Not an interesting thing to watch. Sorry.....
What happened there is that you took a risk with a huge wild animal. One whos tribe has a history of killing people... Its a matter of odds and you should quit while you're still alive...
SERIOUSLY.. Is that not risky? U are putting urself at risk and also Ur crew. Is this not courting potential disaster? If U are doing just for dramatics and U-tube trp.. then U are actually playing with fire and one day it may all end up very bad. All it takes is for that elephant to not listen to ur verbal warnings to not come close..and one swipe of that granite trunk....
He is aggressive! Very! You should know as a guide that when a male buries his tusks into the earth he is very angry and basically shows you what he will do to you! You played a dangerous game and should have left the second time . .
He seemed to be MAKING HIMSELF APPEAR LARGE when he put his trunk over his tusks. Then he got down on his knees and shoved his tusks all the way in to the ground.Watching it pre-recorded, I sort of knew he was going to make another approach, which he did.Glad everyone is safe, including the elephant.... LOL
Hahahaha. Fascinating? More like frightening. You did awesome. I could not believe you didn't even start the engine. Did you try not to scare him, or it simply didn't cross your mind having to think under that pressure?

In all seriousness -- I always cringe when people call these beautiful animals 'monsters'.
"That's unacceptable " LOL !!!
You're encroaching on his territory.
What a beauty and how impressive, It is a pity that the man has taken him almost to the edge of extinction only because of his fangs and his thirst for greatness.
“Start the car and chase you away”,....or more like “start the car and run the hell outta here”
What a magnificent bull, I would love to see one in person. These people take them for granted.
I'm sure that they most definitely don't take them for granted. They are well aware of how amazing they have it there.
They are blessed!!!
LMAO, "that is unacceptable". I bet that really scared off the ellie.
Well it actually did calm him down when Scott started talking to him because he did stop it and then he departed.
Yeah you got that right and correctly stated..
Made him remember his manners. Lol
Awesome man... I'm in Johannesburg right now and I have enjoyed my stay in South Africa for the last 3 weeks...
The elephant is most likely sick of people .
Wonderful to be able to see his reaction close-up. Scary - yes. Powerful from every standpoint, but he was never aggressive. Cool.
Scott: Still draping his tusk over his trunk.
Me: You've back to front.
And thankfully Scott came back to the Safari Live family!
Tiddybeth I'm so grateful to have Scotty back! He's a wonderful part of the safariLIVE family!👍😎

Scott started the problem in the first place...
Absolutely correct. I hope that this Scott is no longer guiding. Just pathetic from someone who should know better.

its a hole the shape of a bell and thats daryl taylas friend from camp and ours.
