A keychain with a +8 mod to dex sounds like a legendary item, and maybe could go like this.... Bosco's Chains of Inconvenience, cursed, requires attunement. Wearing these chains give you a +8 bonus to your Dexterity score. This bonus can go beyond 20, but not 30. After attuning, the chains bind around your body and every 1d4 days you must pay 50d10 gold to the chains, which is teleported to Bosco. If payment is not given 24 hours after required, add another 50d10 to the amount of gold owed and this new amount must now be paid instead. You also become cursed as the chains constrict one of your limbs. While it is perfectly usable, this binding causes 1d4 to be subtracted from all your ability checks, attack rolls, and saving throws. The curse ends when the new amount is paid, releasing your constricted limb. If this new amount is not paid, increase the number of d4 that are subtracted by 1 and the amount owed by another 50d10 as the chains wrap around another limb. If the number of d4s being subtracted equals 5 (regardless of the number of limbs you have), the chain wraps around your heart, and if the final amount is not paid, you will die, your debt gets cleared, and you can only be resurrected via True Resurrection or Wish. While you are in debt, the only way to unattune to this item is the Wish spell, which will also clear your debt. Once your debt is cleared, via Wish or actually paying, all of the chains will release, the curse is lifted, you no long subtract any d4s from your rolls, and you can freely unattune from this item. Casting Remove Curse and other similar spells can only remove 1d4 at a time, but the debt still accumulates as normal and cannot be stopped. If you unattune to this item while still in debt (via death and later resurrection or the WIsh spell), you will not be able to attune to it again without first paying off your debt. Any thoughts on things to add or remove? I thought like, since Bosco runs the inconvenience store, the item would have a drawback related to that. That brought me to mimic Bane and have it tied to Bosco sucking Sam and Max dry of all their funds, and if not, then the inconvenience kicks in. It's inconvenient to have to pay 50-500 gold every 1-4 days, but hey that's the price of potentially have 28 Dex, just go rob people the government or something like Sam and Max do. I then thought, why not have it kill you? And since this is legendary status we're talking, only 9th level spells fix that. I also love that the only way to clear the debt is casting Wish (since you can just make fuck tons of money with Wish anyways, why not? It's Wish), not even death clear it, just gets rid of the curse part.

Thanks for the upload, Tom.

I feel like someone at TellTale really liked System Shock growing up. The Internet screams SHODAN to me, just less sadistic. But still as insane.
How does a 2007 video game so accurately predict 2020-2023?
I watched a comedy skit show from the 70s the other day and it was scarily accurate to how things are now...
