My best friend & I saw this in a Chinatown theater it made us fans of Hung chin Pau Sammo Hung he directs an all star cast starring Liang Chia Jen /Bierdy\as Dr.Lian Cassano Wua. Lui ChiaYung from The 36th Chamber of Shaulin. and other known film villians.He put Yung Chun on the map.
I always liked Kung Fu movies where there are two good guys fighting one fiendish Master and they fight in tandem, one guy goes low and the other guy goes high!
The Mantis villain was super tough, but he needed to combine his style with drunk boxing and have some additional body armor, and he would have been invincible
The guy who played the mantis!!! Featured in many great classics!!!! There was one he featured in where the snake style was on display in the opening fight scene featuring him and another great fighter!!!! I always enjoyed watching them use the snake style!!!! Because i always believed that the snake style is one of the greatest most graceful deadliest fighting styles to watch in the ol skool Kung Fu movies 💗💗

Regardless if this story most likely didn't happen in real life, this movies character is one of the many hk wingchun movies based on the lineage of "yip man" (bruce lees master) yuen biao was in the prodigal son irony with sammo hung and that was based on lurng baek who continued the wingchun linage (and played by real life yipmans son in "ipman a legend is born". This would be a good film if the main hero wasn't a) a korean b) uses a flying kick as a finisher (borrowed from his professional taekwondo skills) when this movie was based on chinese kungfu/wingchun

Totally agree; Fung was one of the most underrated martial arts movie actors ever. Wish he had gotten some starring protagonist roles and been allowed to really shine.
