Shaw Brothers never disappoint when it comes to their Martial Arts/Kung Fu Movies, they Automatically gets 5 👍👍👍👍👍's Up in My Books! I've been watching the Shaw Brothers since 1985 on Saturdays starting at 1:00p.m. to 5:00p.m.! It would be half of the time a Double Header of Kung Fu Pictures like the 5 Deadly Venoms and next would be the Cripple Adventures! The other half of the time, it would be just One Martial Art Movie for that Saturday Afternoon starting at 3:00p.m., a movie last for 90 minutes (1 hour, 30 minutes or for 2 hours), it would be the Shaolin Prince or the 5 Elements, some Legendary Kung Fu Movies that's still Untouchable to this day, that cant be No Competition!!
Actually I have seen a Channel for Kung Fu/Martial Arts only Movies, it come on like a Commercial. I've seen it Advertised about 2 to 3 times out of a Week in Recent moments ago, actually I've seen the Advertisement just Yesterday, No Joke, I forget the Channel actual Name! In the opening scene, that young master... he was in "Ten Tigers of Kwangtung" and "Two Champions" I also see some Venom mob Supporting actors... any movie with these guys has to be good! That was Sheng Chiang. I called him The Babyface Assassin. He was known as a highly skilled martial artist & acrobat. Also known for his comic relief in most of the movies he had a role in. Was childhood friends with Phillip Kwok whom worked with in many movies. They were the good guys in The Five Deadly Venoms. Chaing died in 1990 at the age of 36.

The one thing that annoys me is the fact that Lady Cheng had to die due to his ineptitude and inability to follow instructions (repeatedly)! I kept waiting for her to show up again, hoping her death was just a trick to fool the bad guys... 😓😠
@@MD-DLive Yup. His wife Mona Fong who was producer of most of those films died too. I miss those era of films. Watching them english dubbed while on TV or getting them bootleg with the english subtitles and mandarin/cantonese language. I cherish my collection of old school Kung Fu flicks.

There has to be at least three or more members in a flim preferably the core members like Kuo Chui, Lu Feng and Chiang Sheng. A good example would be a film like House of Traps which also have the "Baby venoms" (Chin Siu Ho, Chu Ko, and Chi Tien Chee)
The girl shouldn't have died. I thought they would fall in love and be together. In mostly all shaw bros movies they never show the hero be with the girl at the end. She's either killed or he becomes a monk or goes away. But since 1978 I was 10 when started watching kung fu movies . Now 56 I watch and collect to preserve so others can enjoy. RIP to all the greats and ty for making great action films 🙏
Shaw brothers movies are serie B movies. Never as good as the best full feature outdoors movies. They're the equivalent of fast food everything under control in a studio and using the same recipe over and over. Some people like fast food, i get bored with it.
You might be right about shaw bros scenes but dont you forget just like fast food its about the seasoning and that's shaw bros storylines .. And those same cheesey scenery you're talking about are the trademark and ambience that make their movies classic... FOH
@@culturedat It's a matter of opinion and taste, but there is no question that movies made exclusively in studios like all S&B movies and using theater like props fake walls, fake props, fake backdrop skies, even fake sunshine and actors made up like a theater scene could never match the best movies filmed in the great natural scenic places temples, mountains, rivers, forests, real ancient interiors houses and garden. Also all SB movies follow the same fast food formula, to me it's all canned food, reliable food but can never be the best. Also it was cheaper to make and the actors didn't have to travel to remote cities and locations in the wild. But that is what makes the best movies, filmed in Shaolin or mountains etc.. I consider SB movies to be more like telefilms not full fledged movies. They can never be the greatest.

@wilykat yes. Many of those films were made in the mid seventies. Last time I looked up Run Run shaw he was 100 years old, passed by now I'm sure!
