Although supposedly set on ‘the south coast’ (for the purpose of flinging the Citroen back to France) the trebuchet scene was filmed in Bawdsey, Suffolk. The building it was dropped onto was especially constructed for the scene, and the car dropped from a crane. Very entertaining though!
