The best wide receivers in the NFL pose a constant threat to the secondary. These are the players that have any Quarterbacks trust because they have the ability to go up and get the ball regardless of the circumstances. The scary part is along with glue hands, a couple players also have the elite speed and quickness to take the top off the defense and be considered the fastest players in NFL history. These are the top 10 best wide receivers in NFL history.

Paul Warfield is the 2nd best receiver based on two stats: yards per catch (20.1) and receptions per TD (5.02). Warfield is the only receiver in league history with 400+ receptions and 20 ypc. Receptions per TD is my own stat and certainly not standard. Don Hutson is the only other receiver with an RPT better than Warfield's. Rice has an RPT of 7.8, but the game was different in his era. Warfield's teams attempted less than 30 passes per game over his career, and relied on the deep pass more than NFL offenses of today.
Sharpe had incredible production while playing on some crappy Packers teams with Don Majkowski at QB. If he had played 12 years or so with Montana, Marino or even Phil Simms, he'd have a bust in Canton.

No Don Hudson??? He literally was the pioneer of modern day receivers and was the first to run multiple routes still being ran today. He was also so ahead of his time the Packers had to pay him twice as much as anyone else.

    Easy peasy lemon squeezy:.
    1. Jerry Rice
    2. Larry Fitzgerald
    3. Randy Moss
    4. Terrell Owens
    5. Marvin Harrison
Although there should be in astrix next to Rice and Fitzgerald...One for Rice because he had two of the greatest quarterbacks of all time throwing to him week in and week out throughout his career in Steve Young and Joe Montana.. something none of the other guys on this list can claim..... you're bound to put up great numbers if you're a great receiver being thrown the ball by those two guys 99% of your career... And an astrix next to Fitzgerald's name because he had the exact opposite as Rice ..he had second and third-string quarterbacks throwing him the ball 85% of his career (and he still finished second all-time in receiving yards.. that in of itself is the most astonishing stat on this entire list!!!) .. he had Kurt Warner for only a couple seasons and Carson Palmer a couple more... Just imagine what Larry Fitzgerald's numbers would be if he had a great quarterback throwing to him most of his career.. would have obliterated Jerry Rice's numbers.

What defines a Wide Receiver is his "soft hands"-the ability to Catch the PASS in ALL WEATHERS, however it is thrown. the following names are men who did it "the old fashion way "sans gloves, adhesives, tape, etc.,- Raymond Berry ,Anquan Bolden, Bobby Mitchell, Lance Allworth , Jimmy Orr, Homer Jones. " CATCHING The FOOTBALL to achieve continuation of advancing offensive team play was of paramount importance "FIRST and FOREMOST" for what is now described as "the possession receiver. Many of the players listed in the video are noted exceptional runners after a catch; but only a few have the capability to "MAKE THE CATCH" when the defensive players are fully aware that ONE is the likely play to advance the offense.

I love Moss and he made it look so easy. He made men look like little boys. However, people like to make it seem like he had some kind of disadvantage because he didn't have HOF QBs like Rice did. That's nonsense. He played in a great system in Minnesota and was paired with another top 10 receiver in Carter, who I believe was every bit as talented as Rice. Also, he played in a great system in NE for a few years. The only time he didn't have a great system was with the Raiders, and he kind of disappeared when he was with them. He's still top 3 all time but Rice is definitely the GOAT.

But he should everyone why he was a guy to be feared when he went to NE. He was untouchable. Plus look at how long Rice played to pad his stats towards the end of his career. He is great no doubt but pure talent wise, Moss is better. But Moss with Montana and Steve Young and tell me he doesn't put up the same numbers but probably better than Rice.

      Moss after 12 years- 928 rec. 14,465 yds. 15.6 Y/R 148 TD's
Even given those conditions Moss STILL couldn't pass Rice.
Now when you consider Moss NEVER even had a 500 yds season after year 12 while Rice after his 12th year had 3 1000 yd seasons and 3 800 yd. seasons, why on Earth would you think that Moss would have passed Rice with the same amount of time played?

You'd better put Paul Warfield in there before Fitzgerald.

Fitz is better than Moss and Owens, he's top 3 all-time. No one has better hands than him. He also has more career recptions and recieving yards than both of them
