That 2011 packers receiving core was so insanely deep. To think they went 15-1 with the last ranked defense says something
Fax
Too bad the giants receivers made them look pedestrian in that playoff game.
@@matthewgreco3212 fax
@@matthewgreco3212 I remember the Packers couldn't catch a cold that day. 6 drops
And I also remember Plax and then Nicks showing out. 07 and 11 respectively
Calvin Johnson and himself are the best duo of all time
Harry Engel nate burleson idk all sucked
@@Jake-hp8mg Tate was good that’s about it
@Harry Engel golden tate was good
Not a duos list
Him and Nate burleson are a big reason they went to the playoffs in 2011-2012 season
Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne both hella underrated. Easily the most underrated WR duo of the 21st century Imo they should be higher
Underrated but also boosted from the fact they had a top 3 QB ever throwing them the ball
@@23jakesmith23 well yeah, obviously. A majority of the guys on the list have a really good QB. But manning being top all time definitely boosted their production
this combo should have won more super bowls.
@@pissbastardpiss261 💯
This list is WR groups and that is why #3 and #2 are on that list. Both teams with 5 stars.
Harrison and Wayne compete with Rice & Brown, Rice & Owens, Bruce & Holt, and Carter & Moss as the best duos.
The Rams with Torry Holt and Issac Bruce were a great receiving duo back in the day
Torry Holt, Issac Bruce and Az Hakeem (Rick Proel and Marshall Faulk) were added in tht bad ass trio....
Torry Holt for HOF! Chanting till the time I die!
@@WithScienceAsMySheperd The Titans were NOT 1 yard away from winning the Super Bowl. As a Rams fan I am sick and tired of hearing how the Titans were 1 yard away from winning. The Titans were 1 yard away from being behind by 1 point 23-22. If they make the extra point the game is tied and we got OT. That is the only thing the Titans were 1 yard away from.
@@ajburrr He'll get in
@@johngiarelli2372 someones a sore winner
1400 yards in one season in the 50s is acctually insane!
In 1991, Andre Reed(HOF) had over 1,100 yards and 10 TDs. James Lofton (HOF) had about 1,100 yards and 8 TDs. Don Beebe, had 500 yards and 6 TDs. Andre Reed and James Lofton both made the Pro Bowl. How isn't this at least an honorable mention.
Yeah, the Bills are an unforgivable omission here.
Not to mention that both Lofton and Reed are in the Hall of Fame, and had to deal with MVP RB Thurman Thomas getting so many touches.
Because there are teams with better production in a single season, stupid. Hell, Jeff George's 1995 unit was better by the numbers. And they didn't have the MVP in the backfield.
Was about to comment the same also
Also Houston's run & shoot squad.
And Denvers three amigos
Moss and T.O. without a super bowl ring is a crime!!!!
idk about t.o. but moss had his chances not once but twice! 2007 patriots and 2012 49ers. the giants and ravens were in his way.
1998
@@jakobbraunjames6905 moss wasn’t in the super bowl that season.
Dude I know but it was close
@@jakobbraunjames6905 at least the falcons lost it for you. I don’t think anyone could’ve beaten that 98 Broncos team. They were almost mere unstoppable. The 15-1 1998 Vikings may have give them a challenge but we’ll never know 🤷
Art Monk is underrated man, actually, a lot of these guys on this list are underrated
He really is
Yeah there was actually a point in time where some believed Art Monk was better than Jerry Rice
I was at the HOF ceremony when Art and Darrell got in. The longest standing ovation I was ever a part of.
He’s not underrated, he’s in the hall of fame
@@shaquille.oatmeal8907 He’s not talked about in WR GOAT conversations. The most well known names are Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens, and Randy Moss
2002 Raiders had Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, and Jerry Porter. That was quite a trio and Gannon set records with them that year.
Ya Jerry porter was their passing red zone target that year more than brown and Rice who usually got them to the red zone lol and Zach Crockett was their ground game touchdown machine I remember that year and im a packers fan
I'll take Moss, Carter, and Reed!!!
the Dolphins 84's WR core was one of the greatets in NFL history Dupper Clayton More they were special.
Should be better than an honorable mention. They were together and incredibly productive for years, unlike a number of others on this list.
The best thing about the quartet of receivers on the Greatest Show on Turf is that they could slot the greatest receiving back of all time into that corps whenever needed. Marshall Faulk would have been the #3 if he just straight up played receiver. Incredible group.
Reggie Wayne and marvin Harrison🔥
2011 Packers were something else. Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, Donald Driver, James Jones, AND Randall Cobb ??
as a packers fan I say amen and its a shame jermichael Finley had that career ending neck injury after looking like future star after 09
@@ericsmith6823 2011 was a pivotal year future Packers teams. The loss of both J-Mike and Nick Collins led to some disappointing losses in future years
Torry Holt is severely underrated. Missed out on the Hall of Fame this year.
Sweet Jesus do I miss watching Kurt Warner play
We all knew Holt and Bruce were finna be 1😈 personally think Marvin and Wayne were a bit low but list is pretty good
Chad Johnson as a #1 Route Maestro & Footwork Matador, T.J. Houshmandzadeh as the #2 Comeback Route Specialist and Chris "Slim" Henry (R.I.P.) as a #3 Short-Stop Slot/Deep Threat Receiver. Can't Forget Palmer (Before he said "screw this front office" and dipped), and that O-Line back in 2005 that Kept Palmer throwing cannons in the pocket, even through the Kimo Van OlWtfIsThatGuysName incident.
Probably not comparable to the units on this list, but the Falcons at one point had a young Julio, middle-aged Tony Gonzalez, and Roddy White (who I think was an underrated WR)
He's not counting tight ends, or this list would be very different.
@@atomzero1 Oh damn, you right.
They included Jerry Smith from the Redskins
@@atomzero1 They had Michael Jenkins tho
@Levi Ackerman for sure
Warren Moon and the fab 4. 3 - 1000 yard receivers. The fourth had 600 yards on 66 receptions.
I was surprised it took this long for someone to mention Warren Moon and hi run and shoot receivers. I expected that to be top three on the list and the pose higher up.
Boldin and Larry were sick together wish they could have stayed together forever beast
08 playoffs
2011 Packers were the best. I always say they’re the best single season passing offense ever.
Jordy broke out in 2011 for more than 1200 yards and 15 TDs in only 9 starts. The Rodgers to Nelson combo was so deadly and this was the first real showing of the duo.
Jennings had almost a 1000 yard season but he only started 13 games. He also got 9 TDs.
Jermicheal Finley had his best year getting over 700 yards and 8 TDs. He would have been even better had it not been for his career ending injury in 13.
James Jones had another solid year with over 600 yards and 7 TDs. He always seemed to somehow find his way open.
Donald Driver was definitely getting up there but the reliable veteran still managed to pull in 6 TDs for just under 500 yards.
Add a rookie Randall Cobb who was dangerous in the return game, and you have an absolutely dominant offense.
3 is good but they should be 2 or 1 especially when they literally beat the #2 team in the Super Bowl the year before.
They were insanely deep
I wouldnt say best but def top 5-3
Tony Preston it’s so disappointing that they didn’t win another ring in 11. They messed up resting starters and didn’t play well for that 1st quarter and a half. And by the time they woke up, their crap pass defense couldn’t stop anyone. It’s a real shame.
That loss of Nick Collins really screwed that team. He was the defensive MVP of that team. He was the keystone. Once he was gone, the middle of the field was easy pickings. Sure they had good corner depth with Sam Shields, Tramon Williams and Charles Woodson, but without Collins, there was nobody competent enough in the middle of the field. It’s a real shame. Could have been a HOFer had it not been for the injury.
And then fell to the 9 - 7 New York Giants in the first round of the playoffs 😂 🗽#BlueCheese
@@yaahlabanyamyan144 that team won the bowl
2004 Indianapolis Colts Harrison, Wayne & Stokley all over 1000 yards also Clark had almost 500 yards himself along with 5 TD's
Give Reggie Wayne a golden jacket
@@charlescharliebabynewman6998 straight up🚫🧢
@Harry Engel bro that team was loaded offensively bro but defensively they couldn't stop a nose bleed Ty Law destroyed them in the AFC championship game smh
@Harry Engel it definitely is
@@qceaz11overexaggerating. Many great offenses had worse defenses than those Colts teams. Also the 04 Colts didnt have to deal with Ty Law, that was in 03.
Faulk also had 1000 yards receiving in either 1999 or 2000
That 2000 rams team really was the perfect wr group wow
Those colts teams were so fun to watch. Harrison was straight money every game and wayne, stokely, dallas Clark and edgerrin james. Too bad edgerrin left before they won the superbowl
Gonna be a banger video! I loved the other top 10 lists on this channel!
‘20-‘21 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom’s throwing options include but are not limited to:
Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown, Scott Miller, Tyler Johnson, Rob Gronkowski, and Cameron Brate.
Scotty Miller?? Mediocre NFL WR
Tyler Johnson below average WR
Cameron Brate avg TE at best. I have no clue why you are listing such unremarkable players as weapons.
I've been waiting for this
The colts crew with Peyton is my favorite
I'm thinking Heywood Jeffires and Ernest Givins should be on here. Early 90's Oilers were so much fun to watch.
Run & Shoot
Yes love the early 2010s receiving core so underrated. Great that their getting the respect they deserve.
Best channel on RUclips by far. I like the low key mic
Amen and war eagle Auburn University
What about jimmy smit and Keenan McCardell
That's 2, not 4 or 5
This was very cool. Good job spotlighting some older squads that are often forgotten about like the 1989 Redskins. Since I'm a 49ers fan I'd probably agree regarding 1998. Two HOF receivers plus Stokes who had his best year. Overall my top 3 if we're just talking receivers (no tight ends) would be 1999 Rams, 1998 Vikings, and 2004 Colts. I'm guessing if tight ends weren't excluded here we would have gotten of one of the Air Coryell Chargers squads from the early 80's. BTW, a good trio that could have made your honorable mention might have been one of the Houston Oilers teams of the early 90's. Ernest Givens, Haywood Jeffires, and Drew Hill would up some great numbers as a trio. Anyway, keep up the good work.
Glad to see some love for the WR tandems of the days of yore. I can't really fault the 2000 Rams being chosen as the top tandem.
Ravens with boldin, Torrey Smith, and jacoby Jones was really good. I’m not a ravens fan but I respected this trio.
The 1998 Minnesota Vikings had in my opinion the third best wide receiving corps ever with a rookie Randy moss and Chris Carter
I always appreciated the 2002/2003 Browns corps. Northcutt, Morgan, Johnson, & Davis were deceptively solid.
I miss that 2013 broncos offense 😔
And Defense is whaat ends up getting them a superbowl
They got blown out by Seattle. All that for nothing lol
U forgot the Falcons with roddy white and julio or rn in 2020
Brooo Ikr! People always forget about roddy white. Ridley still got a big career ahead of him, but julio is definitely up there.
Manning, Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne were the greatest I thought. Kurt Warner, Torry Holt and Issac Bruce aka greatest show on turf were dynamic also
Man... Art Monk , Al Toon , James Lofton... some of the forgotten greats that are probably little underrated as well.
Art Monk for sure.
Al Toon, most people dont even know who he is . Jets had terrible Q.B's also
How do you leave out the Greatest wide receiver duo of all time, Lynn Swann and John Stallworth? Also, no San Diego Chargers' Air Coryell with Kellen Winslow Sr, Charlie Joiner, John Jefferson and Wes Chandler should be on this list.
Can you imagine if Swann and Stallworth got the number if passes today! We forget they were on a running team and they still are both in the Hall of Fame. They are number 2. They are tied with The Marks brothers. Fred Belitnicof , Clifford Branch, and Dave Casper. Are. Number three. Rice and Taylor are 1. The Chargers group is 3.
@Harry Engel Jim Smith was great as a third wheel. Before he was to get a starting spot, he jumped to the USFL
@Harry Engel Drafted in 77 and left for the other league in the 80's
2007 Patriots receiving core is slept on
Exactly. They got glossed over, but Stallworth and Gaffney were excellent number 3 and 4 WR's.
love to see my ST. LOUIS Rams still landing number 1 spots for the GSOT!
For the #1 Rams, Ricky Proehl caught the only touchdown scored in the playoff game against the Bucs on route to the SB.
These are all great! Because of Emmitt Smith Kelvin Martin, Alvin Harper and Michael Irvin did not have the numbers of all of these units however they were essential for the Cowboys Super Bowls in 1992
Chad Johnson and Chad Ochocinco. Best duo ever.
Yeah
I’m gonna say it Peyton Manning has had great wide receivers when he played with the Colts and Broncos
Battle then Brady with the patriots in my opinion
@@carterdaly1398 Brady had a better organization tho
Unpopular Opinion: Brandon Stokley would've been a HOF if he wasn't injured every season.
That’s literally his whole career lol, “when he played with the Colts and Broncos” 😂😂😂
And look at how they all played when Peyton left... Reggie and Marvin are HOFers, but Peyton truly elevated them to their level.
I feel like the 2021-2022 Bengals squad was insane, it deserves an honorable mention
For me its the 2000's Rams. Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce, Ricky Proehl, Az Hakim, speed speed speed
Honorable mentions for me
- Colts (Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Brandon Stokely)
- Cardinals (Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Steve Breaston)
- Dolphins (The Mark Twins)
- Jaguars (Jimmy Smith, Keenan McCardell)
- Bengals (Ocho Cinco, TJ, Chris Henry)
Glad to see my Rams getting some respect. Holt should have been in the HOF by now
The Posse should be ranked a lot higher than #9. First trip to EVER record a 1,000 yard season for all three wide receivers
And won a sb together
@@IneedJesusmostthey won 2 Superbowls together.
As a Rams fan, I already knew the 2000 season Rams would be #1. That shit is simple. 🔥🔥🔥
Next video suggestion: best LB corps of all-time. No. 1 of course will be The Dome Patrol.
Another honorable mention should've been the 2009 New Orleans Saints. They made big play after big play. It was fun watching them.
I'm a lifelong Packers fan. So, I'm pleased that our guys made the list. But, i'm absolutely STUNNED that the trio of Charlie Joiner/John Jefferson/Kellon Winslow of the San Diego Chargers didn't make your list. They were simply amazing! Dan Fouts was blessed to be surrounded by such talent. They were unstoppable. Too bad their defense was so aweful! Green Bay had the EXACT same problem in the early 80's...
Air Coryell with Wes Chandler too. They were clearly the best bunch ever and revolutionized the game
The 1987 Denver Broncos: The 3 Amigos: Ricky Nattiel, Vance Johnson, &, Mark Jackson.
95 lions Herman Moore, Brett Perriman and Johnnie Morton
Good ole Herman, Megatron before Megatron
It's too bad Greg Jennings got Injured in 2011 near the end of the season. Missed the final 3 games and the playoffs. Maybe they get back to the Superbowl if he doesn't get hurt. He was never quite the same. Very underrated WR. Clutch
Smooth route runner and excellent after the catch.
Hot Take: If Dak Prescott and his WR trio of Cooper, Lamb, Gallup all stay healthy in 2021, the 2021 Cowboys will be on this list.
...Could've easily included the Houston Oilers & Atlanta Falcons WR corps w/those run & shoot offenses.
1994 patriots should be on here. A group that caught 405 passes. Drew bledsoe led the league in passing yards thanks to 5 guys with 52 or more catches, including Ben coats
No one's had a better 6 game start than Kurt Warner in 2000, before injury he was on pace for 6000 yards - he doesn't break his hand he has the best year of all time.
I know this is a WR group video, but many of these teams also had stud TE’s. Pretty crazy.
LOOOVE seeing the 2010 Steelers at No. 2
The possy, Washington east top 10, Sanders, monk, and clark was dominant for a decade and for multiple super bowls
Jacksonville had a decent group with mccardell smith and Kyle Brady
That 98 Viking receiver core🔥🔥🔥🔥
Julio Jones and roddy white and Alfred Jenkins and you could add tony Gonzalez too if you are including tight end
Harrison, Wayne, Stokely, Dallas Clark
1000th like in the video its fresh
Tim Brown, Jerry Rice and Jerry Porter with the Oakland Raiders
My personal favorite is Rod Smith and Ed McCaffrey.
They should make a hall of fame plays that have an image and plaque for a play and a ton of details of a play like when stokely went down the sideline
Absolutely crazy that the '12 Falcons aren't on here - you have to consider Tony Gonzalez in all this.
That’s right, that’s when they had roddy white still doing his thing and young julio paired up with gonzalez. Julio and white both had 1,000 yard seasons and Tony was close to 1,000. Harry Douglas was a backup which he wasn’t terrible either but I’d say they should’ve made top ten easily
Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Antonio Brown has to be at least an honorable mention at this point.
Ocho and Housh not having at least an honorable mention is wild.
O5 Bengals with Chad, T.J. and Chris Henry(RIP) were one hell of a trio.
Honorable mention. 2020/21 buccaneers
The Posse!!!
I wish we got to see a few years of Big Ben throwing to Brown, Martavis Bryant and Markus Wheaton, it looked very promising but suspensions and injuries prevented it from ever developing into an elite squad
The 1995 falcons had 3 recievers go over 1,000 yards. Eric Metcalf caught 104 passes, and 8 tds, while terrance mathis and bert emanuel had 1039 yards each, and 14 combined scores for both of them
Eric Metcalf one of the most underrated multi purpose players of all time.
He was insane in Cleveland he was doing what Devin Hester did just a better receiver & played R.B
When redskins had Pierre Garçon Desean Jackson Jamison crowded and Jordan Reed that was an underrated stack
Y’all should do best QB RB WR
QB+RB+WR=trio
Duo=2 people
I think you gotta have Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne at number 2 because they’re the closest to holt and Bruce
Crazy that Ocho and T.O. stunk together.
congratulations Demaryius Thomas on an amazing career! I will never forget the night you put the offense on your back during the AFC Wild Card round playoffs caught that pass from Tim Tebow which he took about a decade to release with his extremely slow developing throwing motion, then the ball was in the air for what felt like a century but then bang you snatched right off the air at its highest point then quickly tucked it in and proceeded to stiff arm the career out of a Steeler DB, and you used your track sprinter 🏃♂️ speed with them long strides and TOUCHDOWN!!!! Broncos win on 1st play of OT! An amazing moment but sad as well bc the end of Tebow Time and that crazy unpredictable season... who would've thought a QB who sometimes was Bout 4 for 22 in completions would get a playoff win!! But the end of Tebow marked the beginning of Peyton the GOAT MANNING!!!
The colts should be higher they also had Dallas Clark who was a great TE
Just think if Rice and Tim Brown were both on the 49ers with Montana and Young and in their prime(Although they were still all-pro caliber on the Raiders).
If you were to include TEs, that Colts Team would be #1. Dallas Clark was a beast.
You guys forgot Calvin Johnson and Megatron
No mention of Rice and Taylor at all. Insane.
Taylor reminds me of Klay Thompson
Living in Steph Curry's shadow.
And then Kevin Durrant came to the Team in form of Terrel Owens
1980 Chargers had the first trio of 1000 yd receivers when football rules were a lot tougher on receivers. J.J. Jefferson had 82 catches for 1340 yds 13 tds, Charlie Joiner 71 catches for 1132 yds 10 touchdowns tds , Kellen Winslow, a tight end had 89 catches for 1290 yds 9 tds so how are they not mentioned in this conversation??!!
Oops you forgot:
Haywood Jeffries, Drew Hill, Ernest Givins for the Oilers
Herman Moore, Brett Perriman, Johnie Morton for the Lions
JaMarr Chase, Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins for the Bengals
Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks, Mario Manningham for the Giants
marvin harrison faded away BADLY in the postseason
Mahomes, Kelce, Hill, Hardman, Watkins, Robinson HAS to be a mention as well.
Agreed getting too much hate after they played so bad in the bowl
This the only video that gives that Packers core some credit
2010 We Really Had Ward, Randle El, Wallace, Sanders, & AB We Definitely Should Of Won That Championship 💯
The 2000 St. Louis Rams: Ricky Proehl, Az Zahir Hakim, Torry Holt, &, Issac Bruce.
Rice and Taylor!
