I don’t think he was more capable than your average dude with a large appetite. “food” won the majority of large meal challenges - I think many he lost were definitely conquerable.

@@brandonWilliams-yr4re not hw, it was an actual news story covered by my college’s newspaper back in 2009. There was plenty of hype surrounding the event and when the episode aired in December of that year.

@@acidexpierence the grease trucks and the parking lot that’s in the clip is now a hi-rise building with a common area called “The Yard” and RU Hungry is now a storefront instead of a truck (or stand). I actually went inside the original RU Hungry truck/stand for a Targum assignment a few years ago and I got to be inside where the magic happens.
I promise you, these are the most filling sandwiches of all time. And yes, the restaurants and trucks are still open though there are few trucks left.

tbh i know a lot of people who enjoy salad sandwiches. And if the person who made it was vegetarian/ vegan most of them eat a fuck ton of junk food like just as much as normal meat eaters do. Most just cut out meat bc of the animals not because of health. I dont think theyd think that adding veggies would make it healthier it would just make it taste better to them

a pro eater would do this in less than 30 minutes. the fries would be hard but it's a very possible challenge. also shouldve gotten some type of sauce to make all the bread and starch go down easier

I remember watching this as a kid with my mom , really good show
i actually ate the fat daryll when i went on vacay with my family. it was so good. i didn’t think it would taste good with the tomato and lettuce on it, but omg it was so refreshing after all the fries and meat and such. i do recommend eating these if you are in the new brunswick area. they really are a nice food truck, and the chef/owner is so sweet and struck a conversation with every single one of his customers.
(the romano was my favourite. but i love a sunny side up egg. the daryll was the second best. then the cat. we had three in the two weeks we went. we tried a new one every visit.)

I used to watch this show all the time! Although I personally would never partake in eatings challenge of the foods featured on this show, the host yet made it fun and interesting to watch. It got to a point to where he had to finally stop all this eatin' shyte tho'!!

I was in New Brunswick in the 80's and I never had a fat sandwich . I used to go to MV deli or Stuff yer Face . Remember the grease trucks. Greasy Tony's was popular
We used to go to Mr. C's. My go to after the Knight Club was a Cheese Steak Hoagie (lettuce, tomato, onion) with Double Fried Eggs. I got them so often that every so often they would throw bacon on for free. That was 88 - 92. I guess that would be a fat sandwich now.

Here's the secret to taking on a challenge like this. Go for the meat first, then take down the veggies. And save the bread for last. But in this case, I'd ask for a cup of water. So you can soak the bread to make it go down easier and faster.
