Thanks a lot for this video! I have one PS1 with the same version of the PS1 that you showed in the video. I removed the fuse made the bridge and worked properly. In the next week, I'll buy the fuse to make the repair, but I can play on the weekend! Regards from Brasil!

Thank you for the much needed information. Mine was the PS602 and the board is bit different and that fixed the controller port i found an odd ball fuse .25 amp fuse and voila.

This is awesome, thanks for the advice, sure enough that little "15" fuse is blown in my 7501. Odd because it just crapped out mid play with no particular reason I can think of. I also find it hilarious that you use the same test game that I do: Trilogy is the best way to test all buttons quickly!

Did you end up putting the number 15 fuse or just left a solder join to make continuity, i’d really like to know cause I just took the fuse out of mine and was wondering how long it’ll last without it or if it really needs it

Can I keep my PS1 the same way you did in the video? Because I see that my controller port started working after removing fuse 15. I did solder them like you did, so is it safe to leave it without the fuse or not?

I have the same problem but I think my PS One SCPH-101 is dead for good. I tested all the fuses (that I could find), I don't know much about electronics, so I tried to locate them using the service manual diagram (Mobo PM-41-71). I tested the fuses FB 117, FB 123, FB119, FB118, FB122, FB124, FB121 and FB120. I don't have the courage to throw it away because it was a gift from my mother.

Hello! Thanks for the video. By following your tutorial, I found two fuses that do not work, a 15 and 20. Do you know the reference of these fuses to replace?

Not off the top of my head but you should be able to find schematics for the board online easily.

Hi there!! I have a problem with a DualShock controller, the analog turns off by itself after a few seconds sometimes instantly. All the buttons seem to work and when testing rumble seem to work, but again analog and vibration will stop working after a bit, any ideas? Thanks!!

I just got a model 5501 today for $10. The only thing that is not working is its not detecting a memory card (original ps1 memory card, pins cleaned along with port pins cleaned). Everything else works! Controller and vibration works an its a 3rd party ps2 controller. I also have a model 7501 and the memory card is detected on there along with my PS2 Slim. The pins dont seem bent at all and are rather clean! Cant seem to figure it out on the model 5501 nor can i find any information on this really lol.. If anyone has advice just lmk!

I have the exact same problem, in my case the Ps605 fuse was the proplem. I also bought it with a third party controller. It is possibel that they caused the fuse to blow. If it is not that one try the other Ps601- 604 fuses.

My brother just got a 5501 in the mail with broken controller ports. Haven't looked at it yet but I was supposed to install PS1Digital on it. He tells me that it doesn't work even with another set of controller ports from another console.

Fuses and flex cable are most likely candidates. Good luck!

@@SunkenCanoeArcade Just walked him through it on the phone and verified it was the fuse. :) Read one of your comments that it's 750mA but, unlike the picture on GameSX that says 0.7A, mine says "15." Thanks for the info!

@Dominic Duenas To update: We did replace the fuse and install PS1Digital, which worked great, but then we took a direct hit from an EF-4 tornado while I was working on a PS1Digital audio bypass. I was booting the PS1Digital with my audio bypass for the first time when the power went out and we were literally inside the tornado less than a minute later. The last thing in my phone’s camera roll before the recording of us being hit by the tornado was working on the bypass board/PlayStation. Never got back to it after that (still recovering). :(

@Dominic Duenas If you want to get your feet wet, a fuse replacement is a good way to start. :) Heck, you could even just bridge it but then whatever caused it to blow could damage something more important next time. I got my replacement fuse from a junk PlayStation that wasn’t suitable for the work I was doing (wrong model) but if you don’t have one then Console5 sells them for $0.79. It is relatively large and easy to solder for a surface mount component but it may be difficult to avoid surrounding components. It may be easier to just attach a fuse with leads/wires since you wouldn’t even have to remove the original.

How much mA fuse did you use?

    • @SaveAmerica-TRUMP2024

well the fuse is marked 15, so I would assume 15 mA? I just did the solder bridge. Probably wont bother with a replacement fuse.
