I think you have to read Erik´s book "Power", where he talks about the problem to do long tours and still have to visit the hospital in Sweden every month. And how hard it was to had to cancel shows because he was getting so many colds due to his weak immune system. The book will be published in English in mid-November.
I had a weak immune system from lack of sunlight working the midnight shift many years. I take high doses of vitamin D3 and magnesium now. Problem solved.
@@Freedom-Fighter1 I don't really know how it works, but Erik had a stem cell transplant six months before he joined Skid Row and got a new immune system. I think he was flattered and happy when they asked him and took the chance. But he probably needed more time to recover from his cancer. And just going back and forth between the US and Sweden can be difficult then.
wow what a bunch of douchy comments about a really decent guy. Erik went through hell, I come from a family where cancer has taken most of my family i've seen it up close way to many times. Treatments, marrow transplants are no joke and can take years even decades to recover from and even then you're not fully recovered. And being that you have constant medical appointments etc and seeing that he went on the road for nearly 2 years straight with Skid Row I couldn't imagine the inner strength Erik had to find to pull that off. Assuming Erik used Skid Row is a complete joke. Erik and SR were hoping his immune system would recover, however with the constant grind of touring and introducing a lot of different virus' along the way, he got sick a lot and it just got to the point where he felt he wasn't doing his health any favors nor Skid Row any favors. Not one person in SR said anything negative about Erik. SR is a business and in order to keep that business a float and paying those employed in that business they have to be on the road as much as possible, that's where bands made their money these days, where as back in the day album sales etc was the money maker, that is not the case anymore. Touring is what makes money but it also costs a lot to do that and having to take long breaks and time from the road for one person just wasn't working. So they went their separate ways. Erik still needs to make an income so he does his youtube video's. And does hire gunned stuff lately. Which is a lot better than having to be on the road for months at a time. And for those saying SR does NOT allow any outside writing, that's not exactly true. And that song Erik released on his YT page may have been a song he wrote and presented to SR. He even said he doubted they would have used it but it was fun to do. Band members write a lot of songs that never get used. Not a big deal, not sure why anyone is trying to make it one.?
Skid Row doesn't let anyone write songs other than the founding members, which is why Tony Harnell left so quickly. They must not let that known when singers first come in
Thats not why Tony left, Tony has said in an interview they asked him to leave so he could go get help for his addictions and he even credited the guys for seeing how big his problems were and cared enough to let him go, so he could get help.

He left Skid Row because the touring was too extensive for his recovery from the bone marrow transplant which made him have a weak immune system and he was constantly getting sick. They tried negotiating a better tour schedule but couldn't come to terms and Erik had to choose health first.

i think the whole gronwell thing came down to $ and those guys really not wanting to progress that band any further . golden knights here are a massive hit here 17-18 k every home game but i can tell u that 85 per of locals here dont want this garbage team and owner and after seeing the renderings i bet fischer wont own the team after its alll said and done probaly balllys will . yea its amazing how baseball wont allow some of these guys in heck sammy sosa banned from wrigley but it was ok for astros to have cameras trash cans and tracking devices to know what pitches are coming during the ws lol

Jason green who is Stephen pearcys tour manager and has the Jason green show on u tube was at the lzzy Hale skid row shows with Stephen and he said he talked to snake and Rachel from skid row and Jason says there is more to the story than we know but Jason said he won’t be the one to tell the story it’s their business but he definitely said this on his show!

I felt the same with Skid Row. That album was pretty dang solid. And then we get nothing. Glad Seb has some good solo stuff.

Schenker definitely doesn't tour as much as Skid Row and he does more stuff in Europe so maybe that's why Erik can make that work. 🤷 Who knows.
And the tour is next year, his immune system gets better as time goes on.
