VR had quite a bit to do with why I wanted the Pro and I am glad to see these games already on the Pro support list. I have one ordered and am excited to be able to try these games out since I do own all three.
I played No Man’e Sky on the Pro yesterday for about 4 hours. The difference between base PS5 and Pro is very noticeable. Imagine having played with no glasses for the longest time. And the suddenly you decide to put them on. It feels like that, everything is so crisp and clear. Better frame rate. Overall, a much smoother experience. Absolutely worth it.
I think it's worth the $700 if the redesigned games run at 90/120fps and the vast majority of PSVR2 games that run at 90fps go up to 120fps + improved resolution and anti-aliasing or greatly improved graphics to get as close as possible to a PC with 4080.
This would have been more likely if: 1) they upgraded the CPU at all 2) the GPU had a 50% uplift instead of up to 45% Instead we have a lot of ai upscaler and ray tracing, which idk how much VR games can use. Especially as the ai upscaler uses 2ms of frame time, and idk how many VR games are using RT.
Id buy PS5Pro if/when we get a GT7 update for PSVR2, it's great , but room for improvement there. (e.g. non re-projected?) I think NMS they could improve draw distance, and smooth out FPS esp around new water ... but Light No Fire announcement would-be the bigger draw for me - but that's possibly as Ive done so much NMS (100s of hours) , Im kind of done with it. Kayak/CyubeVR as you say, I cannot see making a big enough difference to warrant $700... so more icing on the cake.
Honestly I wonder what the PS5 Pro could do for raytracing. That *was* one of the main improvements they advertised was faster raytracing; if this enables PSVR2 games to have raytracing, that could be HUGE
I bought a PS4 Pro specifically for the benefits to PSVR1 and it was a game changer. Clarity and performance was better in every way I couldn’t imagine going back and playing on the standard PS4. Even if it’s not as noticeable with the psvr2 I would still say that the PS5 pro is a must for gaming in VR on PlayStation.
I think Cyube is using 8k textures in the current PS5 version? I'm pretty sure I remember the devs mentioning that, because I think it's the only PSVR2 game that does use 8k textures.
Pre ordered a ps5 pro for psvr2, i had got the adaptor for pc, so currently running it on a pc, but i do have both games announced. NMS on pc was good until all the gfx updates and now its not as stable. I tried it through my xr elite headset and it was still a bit janky, so im hoping for a smooth experience and decent draw distance as the upgrades on the pro. Will let you know.
Wait no mans sky is reprojected??? How is it so clear and smooth then I thought it was 90 native it’s one of the sharpest games on psvr2? Is reprojection something Sony needs to fix or is it actually the developers? Cause I had no idea versus something like CoTM that has clear reprojection?
Got my pre-order in and PSVR2 is ready for Aces of Thunder, GT7, and No Man's Sky. But the first thing I'm going to pop in is Kayak VR because that's insane just on the regular PS5, now add 24 more Tflops and PSSR. Man in terms of Tflops vs the PS4, which also had VR, the PS5 Pro is 15 times more powerful than a PS4.
I tried kayak vr yesterday on the pro, but I cant tell the difference? Granted I haven't played it in quite some time. Norway in the storm was impressive. Also played a few hours of in to the radius in quality mode and it ran just fine with no notisable studder. In some parts of the game in performance mode on the normal ps5 there was a lot of problems, didnt go there, this time. I had zero issues thou.
Sony's lack of care concerning VR is the main reason I haven't bought one yet .... seems like Sony has already conceded the VR space to Facebook/or other competitors
You should see the crispness of Kayak VR with 4090 - i assure you: It can be improved. But i don't know, if it can be to the same degree (ps5pro still has significantly less GPU power, than a 4090, but on the other hand, dfr might be able to close or at least decrease that gap and we still don't know how capable pssr is esp. in VR).
Hello games will be all over the extra power of the PS5-Pro they are a game developer that likes to push the boundaries and No Mans Sky on the PSVR2 will really benefit from all of that extra GPU processing power, they have probably had the PS5-Pro dev-kits for a while so I would think that they have already been working on the updated patch, Sony's own studio games have to be a given for an update, it makes no sense for them not to do it.
Kayak VR? I would be adding a load of particle water effects. They are all totally missing. But as there isn't any CPU upgrade... Idk if they can do that?
Why would developers want to spend so much time and use so many resources for a console few people will buy? If I was them I would rather spend that time making a new game for the standard PS5 that you know will sell and definately make a profit.
Hitman will is the perfect psvr2 game, Potentially you can put hundreds of hours into it.i If ps5 pro makes it even better will be worth it and possibly will be the greatest vr game of all time..
I’m not sure if GT7 can be fixed. Feels like it’s the engine that makes the game looks like a blurry mess. It looks very similar to Assetto Corsa Competitione on PCVR. It’s a blurry mess as well. That’s due to the Anti Aliasing method that gets used in both games. It removes all aliasing but it makes the game look like a blurry oil painting. But if PD really can make GT7 look better in VR, I’m gonna spend that 700 bucks.
@@BULSHYTT Its still totally worth it once you get used to it. I have iRacing and AMS2 on PC and they look super crisp with the reverb G2. Almost like a 4K monitor since I use super sampling and sharpening filter. But for the last 3 months GT7 is the only game I play in VR.
@@Sele81 sounds great! Unfortunately i only console gaming at the moment. Id have to do some more research. Ill probably go for it and enjoy the flat experience like ole times
its a no brainer about hello games no mans sky………they screwed up at launch, but still to this day, they are always updating and pushing the game forward…….i had no doubt that they would make the VR experience even better. kayak VR…..amazing looking right off the bat……..the water alone is just amazing……..even more power at their disposal……its just gonna look even more gorgeous. its the games built specifically for the pro is where the real power is gonna be shown….probably gonna be a while for that though 😬
Now I'm hyped. Kayak & NMS are already gorgeous, can't wait to see how much better they can get nms is already 90htz native isn't it? I thought it was lol
Currently, Kyak runs at 60fps....Motion duplication is a thing, and it doesn't look 90fps at all. Question is, is the PS5 Pro powerful enough to get it locked in at 90fps without downgraded the visuals or resolution?
Really wanted to like the PSVR2 but the combination of the reprojection blur and terrible mura was just too much and made me return it. If they make ps5 pro updates that can do 90hz w/o reproduction on just even RE4 and Village, THEN I'll spend the 1.1k on the Pro and another PSVR2.
Pretty much as I thought, I'm with Jammy on this one, will hold off pro for now. I can't see the value as I've pretty much become exclusively VR it's just the perfect way to game imo. Just as a small aside Jammy, might be worth considering something like a 'glossery' video for the new (or relatively inexperienced like me) to explain all the terms you use like 'ghosting/aliasing/reprojection' etc. You seem to really have spotting this kind of thing nailed, I reckon people would be really interested in learning to spot the same. Just a thought 🤘🤘
I sure as shit dont want to buy a pro, so its gonna have to be something significant. I had the 4 pro bc that seemed to get an upgrade for vr in general so pulled the trigger… so i guess ill be waiting on the youtube community to tell me if i need to upgrade bc if its worth it ill take that leap despite the financial kick in the nuts im trying to avoid.
Screw that. It won't be much upgrade. Plus they want more money?! Get lost. They raised ps plus cost, idiots kept paying it. Now they raised the system costs. Idiots will pay it.
@@MrGamecatCanaveral i hear u… vr is all i play so if it was anything drastic i might buy, but again, doubt it and def dont want to…. Fully agree sony has been lookin like a greedy corporation past few years and dont wanna justify their bullshit by buying.
Kayak mirage ps5 pro update - 3player update. I remember buying ps4 pro for the vr updates and one of the few games that had one was firewall zero hour and it made the game look worse/ Every pro player I met had turned off the aa mode that the pro version had.
Maybe to you its not. It is to me and day1. Also, why are you saying $700 extra performance? Its not a graphics card you're buying for 700.. its a whole system.
Most people womt even buy this ps5 pro upgrade. Vr market is already niche. The people who will actually even get to enjoy these games enhanced are even more niche
Not interested in games I have already played looking a little better. ( PS4 Pro all over again). Right now we need more and better games. More flat to VR conversions. It is no coincidence that the best games (ok in my opinion) are GT7, RE:8, RE:4 and NMS. PS5 is good enough for now. I’ll wait for PS6 or save towards a PC.
Looks way betterr on my PC no mans sky Vr. none of that flickering water so dunno if PS5 is the best way to play No mans sky VR. depends on your PC I suppose. Maybe it comes down to Vram dunno.
Oh dere thanks for the mention bro wow - appreciated much 🤍
