Kenshin's technique is called the supersonic blade, fast and strong enough he can kill with a blade with no edge at speeds faster than the eye can follow. If he gets serious and goes for the kill he becomes faster by not hesitating or holding back as to not kill, he would cut through bone and trees with easy. I know Zorro is freakish strong but is he fast enough? I remember Zorro always being outsped my many characters. All it takes in a sword fight is one good blow to end it.

Yeah it isn't fair. Kenshin's universe is more realistic, Zoro is in a Fantasy universe. I mean for goodness sakes, the humans in One Piece universe can jump over 10 stories high, move faster than sound and cut through bodies of ocean just to make a pathway. Kenshin can't even do a quarter of that, but nonetheless . . . Kenshin will always be one of my all time favorite anime and samurai characters.
But that has nothing to do with the point of the series. It was an awesome fight which played true to both the character's strengths. I like Kenshin a lot, which is why I enjoyed this video. Dude went toe-to-toe with Zoro ffs.

kenshin is my favorite character but kenshin is not the most powerful character in his own anime. Because he never fight with all his power and with a dull sword. Also the humans in one piece are super humans, in kenshin the greatest thing kenshin do is cutting in half a pilar of concrete with that sword.
I love OMM but this one was kinda weird for me. Would Zoro ever REALLY fight for almost NO reason and against a guy as peaceful as Kenshin?

Like, not even a competition. Zoro has practically superpowers, in fact the whole One Piece universe is Leagues more powerful. Kenshin doesnt have any superhuman limits or powers. he Is just that good of a swordsman. It's Fantasy vs. Realism. Apples and Oranges really.
He doesn't move that fast. That's just SA being lazy with their calculations and taking a joke seriously.
To give context, a human would have to run at about 70 mph to run on water. Your average sail based pirate ship travels at about 4.1 knots.
Zoro travelling at 9000mph is moving at 7820.786knots. What that would mean is that in an hour he could travel the same distance the Thousand Sunny could travel in 1907.5 days, or about 5.2 years. It's completely and utterly unrealistic, and considering he's not even the fastest character in the series, shows that's obviously not accurate. After all the only character we see travelling the ocean without a boat (that's not a fishman) is Kuzan, and he does it by freezing the water beneath him, not running at absurd velocities.
Abyssionknight I'm sorry but are you trying to prove that One Piece is unrealistic using science? I'm pretty sure we ALL know its unrealistic and impossible. It is after all a fantasy fiction anime. Again, One Piece is set in a fantasy fiction whereas Kenshin's anime is in a much more realistic one. But trying to disprove anything in One Piece with science is futile. It's *SUPPOSED* to be fake. I don't think anyone is arguing it's real here.
Blitzball Ace Yes, but there are still rules and standards in a fantasy universe. Zoro moving at that speed doesn't fit in with the one piece universe. Beyond that one gag scene they have nothing else to support that claim. They just wanted Zoro to win so they pulled out that bs stat.

They should match Kenshin to Okita Sougo.
Kenshin is a half fantasy character while Zorro is a full fantasy character. That is why Kenshin doesn't have any chance to win against Zorro.

Yes I agree, Kenshin's universe (while still very exaggerated compared to the real world) is still based on reality, whereas One Piece is firmly rooted in fantasy and supernatural.

+Jason Tarwaters not really the Two arm strength slash that zoro did in the video would've killed kenshin. And i don't think "not killing" has anything to do with predicting attacks. Not only that but zoro had straight up been gutted and still win the fight. Even if kenshin were to land a direct attack zoro would still be able to fight. This matchup is unfair.
+StraitCHRIS067 Keshin know all the tendons in the body as long as he landed a direct attack on zoro's arms he would've made him only fight with his mouth and zoro has no techniques with only one sword in his mouth. Plus unless zoro activated asura mode (Which he didn't) The Kuzuryusen is unblock able since it hits from nine angles at once.
It's actually kind of unfair because rouroni is from a much more realistic setting and zoro is kind of an actual demon.

Well if you literally know ANYTHING about there 2 shows, it's obvious who would win. You can't really expect a character who's manga is based in our own reality (with some exaggerations) to beat a character from a super power based manga.
That being said, I do love these two characters a lot, and I'd love to know who the better swordsman in terms of technique is. (Because in terms of just raw power, it's not a competition.) And if Kenshin was in the one piece universe, given his skill level and adding one piece abilities, where he would stack up with in that manga in terms of power.

Roberta Tallienne Whoops my bad with the spelling mistakes. I think I said anime at first because that's how I was first introduced to them, but eventually just ended up reading the manga for one piece. For Zoro atleast, there's not much of a difference so I don't see how the distinction matters. I'm not sure about Kenshin's because I have never personally read his manga. People will generally know what I'm talking about though I'm sure.

That dude's ability to not kill or critically injure people defies all logic considering his weapon is basically a narrow piece of metal. Just cause it doesn't slice through don't mean it won't break bones. But, that's just the tip of the iceberg of the silly for that show.
However, the outcome, as you said, could be no other than what happened here. Kenshin's not One Piece levels of strong.
I think Gintoki would've been a better opponent against Himura because he doesn't have Haki bs and whatnot

josh mcglenn Not really. A world where there is a giant, a guy spitting fire, a guy with a blade of fire. It has the illusion of realism by giving each of what I listed with scientific reasons and whatnot (except the giant part). But in this world (especially the era where the series is set on). There are more Insane moments in the show that I didn't talk about or else we'd be here all day. some Kenshin's techniques ar also far from realistic. It's just that the author mixed reality with fiction really well.
yeah it's not completely realistic but in order to give it some realism the unrealistic powers at least don't have ridiculous op effects unlike in One piece, the power scalings are just completely different

This fight was totally unfair. Kenshin doesn't even kill, his sword is blunt. Even if Kenshin went all-out though and tried to kill Zoro he still would have no chance, Zoro can slice though giant stones the size of buildings with ease whereas Kenshin can barely beat his own enemies which are just normal dudes compared to the enemies Zoro fights on a daily basis. I like Kenshin and all but Zoro is on a completely different level, them fighting eachother is like Rocky fighting Goku, sure both are great fighters in their own right but Goku could kill Rocky with a flick.
+Jesse Woolridge Remember Zoro also holds back a lot in his fights and avoids conflict when necessary, even allowing himself to replace a little girl being partially crucified when he could have casually taken the guy responsible for it out in one swing and attacking the citizens of Water 7 who were attacking his crew during a conspiracy riot with the back of his swords, only to still accidently mortally wound them. Zoro isn't this brash except to Luffy and Sanji because he knows there strengths and often purposely start with him and he knows them well. He's usually the complete opposite of what this fight portrays him.

+Jesse Woolridge I have to agree. By this logic, Batman should have lost to Captain America (I say this even though I'm a hardcore Bat-fangirl!). Batman doesn't kill and therefore should not have finished the fight with Cap, even if he accidentally killed Cap. Bats always makes sure no one dies because of him. But that doesn't mean he can't beat Cap into a coma!
Also, Zoro would rather not pick unnecessary fights (unless it's Hawkeye Mihawk, of course) and would probably have just settled on knocking Kenshin out or something like that. True, Zoro does seem to get mad easily, but it would take more than one incident to trigger him.
I still liked the fight, though!
This fight takes on a new meaning when you realize the actor playing Zoro in the Netflix live action One Piece series was also an actor the Ruroni Kenshin live action movie.

Considering these characters can move faster than 220,000 mph lightning, race across countries and states, and strike so fast that bullets seem to move in slow motion, of course they seem like they're teleporting. They're moving so fast that they aren't even blurs, they're literally too fast to see.

It all depends no the size, distance, and many other factors. A bullet, contrary to popular belief, is not simply too fast to see, it's just too small to see at that size, tracer rounds can easily be tracked. The bigger and further away the object, the easier to track. Hell, the planets are moving way faster than 9k mph, and they appear stationary to us.

In these fictional battles, it's between characters who are *roughly* of similar size to each other and getting right in each other's face in pitched battle (or right behind them, in the case of 1:37).
Again, some of these guys can literally outrun *lightning,* which makes even the fastest bullets - nevermind tracer rounds - look pathetically slow in comparison (for reference, the fastest commercial cartridge, the 0.22 Swift, has a velocity of 3,180 miles per hour, nearly 70 times slower than the +220,000 mph velocity that Zoro and similarly-fast combatants are capable of).

Remember Zoro also holds back a lot in his fights and avoids conflict when necessary, even allowing himself to replace a little girl being partially crucified when he could have casually taken the guy responsible for it out in one swing and attacking the citizens of Water 7 who were attacking his crew during a conspiracy riot with the back of his swords, only to still accidently mortally wound them. Zoro isn't nearly this brash except to Luffy and Sanji because he knows there strengths and often purposely start with him and he knows them well. He's usually the complete opposite of what this fight portrays him. Zoro has also shown too much actual skill with his swords and doesn't rely on a power up or brute force alone to fight like most other Shonen swordsmen characters.
