Another fun fact: The Bugle’s had over TWO HUNDRED NAMED STAFFERS since its introduction in 1962. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daily_Bugle#Fictional_staff_members
I love the complexity of all of the characters in this series. Even characters I originally thought of as throwaway characters like the Russian mobsters are given some humanizing elements to make them feel more like real people. I totally expected the Russians to just be punching bags that would be beaten and then forgotten as the first step of getting to Fisk. The fact that they did something more meaningful even with these types of villains is part of why this series is so good, in my opinion. Looking forward to Part 3! ✌🤓
I like Fisk as a character because at his core, he is sensitive, even a bit fragile, and all that terrifying strength and drive is in large part to hide and protect that fragility.
"One of your cuts just opened... I can taste the copper in the air. Don't ask me how I know you farted in my shower. On an unrelated note, while you were in the bathroom, I poured you a glass of cranberry juice. You're welcome." Nobody seems to put together how naked and vulnerable they should immediately feel once Matt starts revealing just how strong his senses are, lol.
This series makes you root for even the WORST villains- like Vladimir. His background and last stand really made me want to see more of him, instead of being gunned down by Fisk's crooked cops.
in the comics the villain never thinks they are evil they always justify their actions for a greater purpose the line between good and evil is a very thin line hero's become villains and villains sometimes become hero's so watch that line carefully
Aww, Addie. You edited out your reaction to Wesley making reference to Iron Man and Thor. I love the ending of episode 4. When Clare laughs and tells the Russians “You wanna know his name, ask him yourself”, I’ve always thought that one of the coolest moments I’ve ever seen in tv.
The beauty of Wilson Fisk is that he genuinely believes he is the good guy, and he isn't the only person who believes that of him. He can be terrifying, but most of the time in his life, that is the exception not the rule. he has friends and coworkers who are loyal to him, who care about him, who don't mind doing a little bit extra because they like Fisk, not because they fear him. The problem is that they all appreciate his violent side. He is the perfect mirror for Matt, because despite them having vastly different goals and reasoning, they are the same in a lot of aspects.
In May I got to Meet Charlie Cox/Daredevil. Vincent D’Onfrio/Kingpin. Geoffrey Cantor, Deborah Ann Woll and Royce Johnson from the tv show. All actors were amazing to meet.
Hey there Addie. So now, go back and watch that final episode of HAWKEYE where Fisk opens the car door to have a chat with Kate Bishop's mother. See what was being evoked?
Fun fact, Charlie Cox got so good at acting like his eyes didn't work during the filming of the show that it cost him at Disney role later on because he wouldn't make eye contact with any of the auditioners.
Hey Addie, great to see you coming back to this show. I remember seeing that scene with the car door and wow, that was intense. I knew Netflix was going to go dark and gritty for Daredevil but .... yikes!
Alongside Daredevil and Kingpin I really like Foggy and, as strange as it seems, I like Wesley too! I'm going to be very tempted to continue the other season even if you don't, but I really don't want to experience it alone. Take care of yourself, Addie!! Um... we're kind of due for an Ollie appearance. Will you ask him to come by soon. Thank you.
Claire actually becomes a part of the team, she is like the vigilant nurse. You she is also connected to Jessica Jones, luke cage, iron fist and of course when they band together they are the defenders.
She's taken the role of the Marvel Comics character Night Nurse, although the comic Night Nurse's name is Easter egged on a wall chart in one of the hospital scenes - I think in Luke Cage, but I could be wrong.
@@ReymundoCortez no worries! She's a deep cut character, to be sure! I just happened to reread the Doctor Strange limited run "The Oath," in which she is prominent, so the name happened to be on my mind.
The thing I always highlight when I recommend this show is that it takes the time to give the HUMAN TRAFFICKING Russian mobsters a compelling background
@@TheTurbanator123It makes more sense cause unlike the MCU Hulk is a lot smaller in the comics only like 6-7 feet tall but in the movies they made him much larger at around 9-10 feet tall, they did the same thing with Thanos too making him much bigger
d'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk would be very calm if he was planning to kill someone (less so in the actual doing). However asking Vanessa out...that isn't something he does very often (unlike killing)...thus he is nervous. So did you like Mr. Fisk by the end of the episode?

Wait until you meet Matt's college girlfriend. Karen Paige in the comics was written to be the girl next door. His college girlfriend is more akin to the woman down the street.
After Darevdevil Season 1 ends, you should watch Jessica Jones Season 1, then Daredevil Season 2, then Luke Cage Episodes 1-7, then Daredevil Season 3. You could skip everything else and not miss much. Of course there are some people who will just want you to watch all of the Marvel Netflix shows just because they exist, but you would literally not be adding anything of value to your life if you did or missing out on anything important if you didn't.
Now you know why everyone went nuts during that cameo during No Way Home.
Fun fact: Ben works for the Daily Bugle in the comics, the paper Peter Parker sells his Spiderman photos to...

If we get a Spider-man 4, I want Peter to work for Ellison. Since J. Jonah Jamison is no longer a newspaper editor.

That was absolutely hilarious when Claire hissed at the cat!
As someone who doesn't necessarily dislike cats but is also allergic I felt represented 😂
@@TheTurbanator123 I can very much understand that one!
Vanessa's character paints Fisk as a very complex villain and his sincerity was depicted as deceiving, terrifying and weirdly charming.
Matt and Fisk are complex characters. Two of my favorites in all of Marvel.
d'onofrios kingpin is like the thanos of street-level marvel characters

I almost fell off my chair when I saw an interview with the actor that plays Vladimir. He's from Australia.
"Is he flirting or is he about to kill someone?"
Lmaoooo yep that's Fisk! Sultry and threatening at the same time, always

OK, so based on the comics, Kingpin weighs 450 lbs, but only has 2% body fat. That helps explain how he did what he did with the car door.

Yeah, seems about right :D
Idea for Addie's merch: On a t-shirt; her "oh no" / shocked face. It is the best!
Hey Addie, great to see you coming back to this show. I remember seeing that scene with the car door and wow, that was intense. I knew Netflix was going to go dark and gritty for Daredevil but .... yikes!
This show is heavily inspired by Frank Miller's version of the Daredevil comic books.
@@LightStreak567 And we all know Frank Miller does dark very very well.

The car scene is really disturbing. In Hawkeye when Fisk and Kate were fighting, I was soo scared for her

Sure! I mean, even homicidal psychopaths need love. Wait. Something about what I just said doesn't sound right...
Those cufflinks are the same cufflinks Kate Bishop uses to electrecute Kingpin in Hawkeye
Love your Reactions. 😁
In the comics, Fisk is bigger, way bigger. He's built pretty much like he is in the show, but he's like bigger than a big sumo wrestler big.
To me comic fisk is seemingly big as hulk sometimes. Really just depends on the artists and tone of the story.

I thought you wanted Matt to be with Karen. Why do girls always want people in tv shows/movies to be together? No one can just be independent.
