This is great. I remember stations like this in the 60s and 70s. They were often dubbed "relaxing music stations." Loved them as a break from the rest of AM and FM.
Just because radio comes from back in the day doesn’t mean it’s great. The music that was played on this station, well, I have heard more exciting selections in a grocery store. The news read was decent. But, it definitely was not worthy of a market size like Philadelphia. They didn’t use any tape and it was literally a read. Even in 1972 in the market, the size of Philadelphia you would expect to hear at least some sharp writing. It seemed like they were doing anything to avoid offending anyone. I have never heard Carole King performed with less passion and soul.
Awesome aircheck from one of America’s Pioneer FM Radio Stations!
This station will always be “the place to relax”.
great aircheck💯💯❤
My father had this on all the time. The only thing we have now in Philly now is WRTI (Temple University Jazz).

Just like "Wish"...WWSH.
A real time capsule. Anybody know what the second tune is?
Maybe have a thumbnail that’s readable?
