Triangle in 1962 began building its new Triangle Broadcast Center at 4100 City Line Avenue, Philadelphia, which it occupied January 12, 1964. This very handsome and efficient edifice now houses the WFIL stations and all the management personnel for the Triangle Radio and Television Division. At this location, the TV show “Bandstand” (later renamed “American Bandstand”) began with host Bob Horn ...

Awesome aircheck from one of America’s Pioneer FM Radio Stations!
Cool video💗⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
thanks, unusual show with unusual music. I plan to post a few more shows in the future.
What is the name of the bumper that wioq used to play as the top of the hour bumper and after a long music set? I forgot the name of it I remember it vividly

I have vague memories when 96 5 was a jazz music station
My father had this on all the time. The only thing we have now in Philly now is WRTI (Temple University Jazz).
Listened to him on WFIL on my transistor radio.
I remember Randy.
I had to look up Canton NJ, and I lived in South Jersey for 62 years.
This is great. I remember stations like this in the 60s and 70s. They were often dubbed "relaxing music stations." Loved them as a break from the rest of AM and FM.
Just like "Wish"...WWSH.
A real time capsule. Anybody know what the second tune is?
Maybe have a thumbnail that’s readable?
Just because radio comes from back in the day doesn’t mean it’s great. The music that was played on this station, well, I have heard more exciting selections in a grocery store. The news read was decent. But, it definitely was not worthy of a market size like Philadelphia. They didn’t use any tape and it was literally a read. Even in 1972 in the market, the size of Philadelphia you would expect to hear at least some sharp writing. It seemed like they were doing anything to avoid offending anyone. I have never heard Carole King performed with less passion and soul.
great aircheck💯💯❤
My baby does the hanky panky 😁

Oh dear.
Can you please post the Bob Pantano Saturday Night Dance Party from Saturday June 1st 1991 this is the day David Ruffin died here in Philly
He spent much of the 80's on WIOQ. Probably because WCAU went top 40 by the time he went to Q.
Triangle also owned TV Guide.
This is GREAT! THANKS for posting!

GREAT AIRCHECK (Music)⭐⭐⭐⭐
Today this is WPVI ,Channel 6.
Ah, a reminder of my youth!
the sound of my youth...
This was when Q-102 was good.
1:00 wow, a pan/tilt/zoom camera!
I was working at KSAN in San Francisco where Pierre started out in radio. He was just about to leave us for 'MMR and was as happy and excited as anyone I'd seen in a radi station. His personality and attitude was infectious. I've been happy to see his success over the years, what a great guy!
Quite an upgrde from 46th and Market.
Wow!! I forgot these guys. Brothers Johnson clip!
Sounds like equipment test failure. Pre-amp blown. Can't hear! 👂
Wibbage my fav station as a kid❤❤
Isn't Triangle the T.V. Guide publication also?
In addition to WFIL TV and radio, Triangle Publications owned dozens of magazines and was based in Radnor, Pa. It was owned for many years by Walter Annenberg. In the late 1960s or early 70s, Triangle sold the Philadelphia broadcaster to Capital Cities, which changed the TV call letters to WPVI (P = Philadelphia, VI = the Roman numeral for 6, the TV channel).
...and I won 30 dollars on "WFIL Beat the Bomb" that week!
"Name it and claim it....CO3-8956". Win a 45RPM single with a hole punched in it. Also known as a "cutout".
