Volantis 2082 is the only vex lore that comes to mind outside of the solar system. For those who don’t know it is a solar system with a 13 billion year hypergiant star the vex had been artificially keeping alive. The solar system has no planets likely because they were destroyed by the vex for materials. This is were the portal on Europa leads btw.
Every line they write for savathun is so good and just embodies her character. That line to Caital about you gained more than you lost with the destruction of Torobatl was so good.
Yeah Savathun is like the utter embodiment of Ends justify the Means. She is by no means our friend, but we can’t deny that we wouldn’t have won without her machinations. She helped decimate Torabatl only to get the Cabal fully to our solar system and force an alliance with us. She curses the dreaming city finally forcing the awoken and Mara Sov out of their isolationist practices and gives us a definitive key to enter the traveler through this. The manipulations of Lakshmi-2 to force a connection between fallen and humanity with the ultimate creation of the coalition. You can’t deny we wouldn’t have succeeded without her… Which now makes me wonder, now that the world’s end isn’t at stake, what happens when she turns that cunning and manipulation against us to further her ultimate goals?
Remember, guys: the Drifter has been outside of Sol with his team. He was the only one to make it back alive. There were creatures that repel the Light, ancient monoliths with cryogenic capsules, and also that asteroid that's towed by the Derelict. There are scary things beyond the heliosphere, maybe even far scarier than anything we've already seen. And I bet that the Winnower has something to do with all of it.
I had the same thoughts. We are grabbing failsafe, a colony ship ai, and then we get basically told we are going to be navigators on the dreadnought. Then we get told frontiers, and shown Osiris and saint leaving. We collect failsafe so she can be the ships ai, we partner with her to take over the dreadnought and use it to jump out of the system. Or Failsafe goes with Osiris and saint on new colony ships while the guardian steals the dreadnought to travel to other systems to go fight more bad guys.
@@flagondragon1854 I was thinking the same. There are alot of parts on the helm that we haven't opened up yet. Those sections could be used for different vendors
In the lore, I could definitely see either the Cabal or the Eliksni (or even both) providing the technology needed to upgrade our Jumpships to enable the Warp Drives to propel the ships to go at FTL speeds.
One thing i think you might have missed is that in episode 3 heresy, we are repairing the dreadnought and becoming its navigator, this id likely how we leave the system imo. that would be sick af
They talked about the Dreadnaught being repurposed in the release video--I'm really curious what that would look like, how long did it take Caitle to travel here, do we leave Sol and spend a year, or more, in the Cabal system? Then to Riis?
the shot in the cinematic of the echoes spreading out across the galaxy also looks very similar to the depiction of humanity expanding among the starts back during our golden age, until the "darkness" slowly took over the view of the wider universe back when Destiny first came out.
I mean the Vex star that Clovis visited has some potential, it had some lore books dedicated to it and could link to the Vex for this current Episode. Outside of that, what about that weird place the Drifter went where he messed up his Ghost? That's all of the outside the solar system lore I can remember off the top of my head
Ugh. That song they wrote for that cutscene is just perfection. Such beauty. Return to a Dream. If they can create another really good villain and incredible new spaces outside of Sol, I'll put serious time back into the game. But my time is coming to a close as TFS closes.
I'd be really interested to see what happens after a lot of the main (and powerful) characters leave Earth. Maybe there could even be stories about other Earth Factions (like the Concordat) trying to take over the city now that powerful guardians like us, Saint, Ikora are all gone.
Id also like to add, in a TWID recently they said something about locating the ruins of lubrae, rhulks home world. World love to get to see it in game and have a story around it
Leaving Earth unprotected with the Vex still around would be an awful idea. If we're actually leaving the Solar System, this episode *might* end the Vex threat.
The only way I see Bungie "solving" the Vex threat is by having a Sundaresh take control over the vast majority of local vex groups and allying with the City. Sounds lame, totally fits within Bungie's operating restrictions, and also sounds exactly like something they'd want to do with trying to ally us to every enemy race in some way. Just look out for incoming friendly Scorn next, or Mara-controlled Taken, maybe even "dissenter" Dread.
The only reason other species and entities attacked Earth was because the Traveler was there. If the Traveler leaves, then Earth is no longer a candle in the dark. Question is though: how do we control where the Traveler goes, if that's even possible? Or would we want to leave it near Earth while a sub-population of Guardians explore the cosmos?
@@kyeda Them why are we credited with killing Crota and Oryx both in D1 and D2? Also I'm pretty sure Riven references us killing her in season of the wish. Probably more examples but those are the ones that come to mind without looking anything up.
I feel like too many people would be upset about losing their stuff, but at the same time they literally can’t just keep adding content to the game, content creep is a real killer to long lasting MMOs like this. However, I would like to see that this “Frontiers” thing turns out to be a seperate servers type thing, similar to some WoW or PSO2 expansions. You can still log into the “sol servers” and have access to all that content, your gear, and any new content. But you could also log into the Frontier Servers, which is completely new with no carryover but new loot and stuff. Like a new game but smaller and inside D2. Satisfies both the fresh start needed but people won’t whine about having to grind out all new gear in their looter shooter
Thought this would have been a video about the new lore book Dynasty that dropped. It talks about a new world and a ship that sounds like it’s the Dreadnaught.
Eramis is still in Sol. During the Devils lair strike for the micah quest they mention how eramis is still in sol, has shrunk considerably due to lack of ether and was attempting to trade weapons for a prime servitor.
Ever since they introduced the Andromeda sparrow ship and ghost bundle that talked about vehicles tuned for other atmospheric conditions and venturing out into the stars, my brain has been outside our Solar System
Personally, I think that the final episode being about the "navigator" is a larger reference to tie back to the idea that we will be exploring the universe. With us going to the dreadnaught and claiming the title where oryx initially was the navigator and explored the universe.
I’d like a story that’s just all major titans joining Saladin and Zavala who are already linked to Caiatl. So add Saint and Shax. Making a wall to push back the hive. Also throw Savathun in for story purposes
Home worlds are an easy and obvious choice. We are all eager to see where our friends and foes came from, it's basic world building. But what about the ice planet Drifter found way out in the middle of nowhere, where the headless creatures drained your light by proximity? That, is a cool place I'd like to see.
So there's some Destiny 1 lore about how the vex saw a future where the people of earth were leaving the system with banners that didn't exist yet. The flags could be meaning things like House of Light and the Coalition. You should really look into this. I can't remember where the grimoire cars originated but I think it was the Vault of Glass
I'd like to see a Destiny Game Hub of sorts. Like how call of duty has a main title screen that can launch warzone, zombies, campaign, and multiplayer seperately where all progress ties in with each other...a Destiny Game that can launch legacy content including Destiny 1 as well as the most current story, where previous progress, loot and triumphs aren't just nullified but can still be used. I just see too many players leaving if they launch Destiny 3. Alot of us are here because how much time we put in and sunk cost fallacy. A restart would completely free alot of players that just might not want to do it all over again.
I wouldn’t use the week one echos cut scene as an example. Every time we have a saint or osiris cut scene they mention this dream about exploring the universe on their own
In the frontiers trailer the pans and zooms way in on a diamond shape, assumingly another star. Add to that saint talking about a new exodus program, add to that the codename frontiers(the final frontier). Aaaaadd many more examples and reasons. im 100% sure of that.
Two interesting things that I think should also be touched on are Drifter and Rhulk. Drifter has seen all sorts of scary shit outside of the solar system, and he’d be a super interesting character to work with as we go through Frontiers. I say Rhulk, but I more mean his home planet. In one of the TWIDS over the pantheon weeks mentioned that there was a signal coming from either his planet or the star system of his planet. I have no doubt that we’ll eventually figure out what could possibly be out there because that’s also super interesting. Frontiers has so much potential because there are so many cool things that we can do. I imagine the nine will be involved with all of that, Nezzy is undoubtedly going to follow us wherever we go so that has some really cool potential. and honestly this is a shot in the dark but there are some creepy ass races in the lore that would be so fucking cool to see in game or at least hear more about. The Aphelion are another race that i’m really really hoping get some more attention too. There’s just so many things we can do now that the Witness is dead, and i’m honestly very excited for it. apologies for some of the run-on sentences
