I'm grateful about the idea of DW TV 77% took a retrospective look, into this menace going on in the transportation sector in one of the 5th largest city in the world.
Now as a resident of Lagos state for over 12 years, I tend to proffer the solution of quality education as a panacea for eradication of this eye sore.
The Lagos state government must be aggressive about ensuring they educate all it's inhabitants, at least to high school level. This in turn has a rub off effect on the syndrome of "agberoism" being witnessed on Lagos roads, as the next generation of their kids would not fancy the idea of running haphazardly in ensuring they collect toll from bus drivers. They'll be too sophisticated to embrace such a challenging task, rather they will prefer to embrace technology as the e-hailing platforms are into. These reforms goes pari pasu for both Agberos and Drivers , and it ensures proper accountability and keeps insecurity in check.

Agbero doesn’t mean Area Boys in Yoruba - It literally means Agba Ero, in English someone that helps you call passengers into a bus. Just like a Bus Conductor.

These guys help Lagos State Government generate millions in revenue everyday.
So they are never going to stop, asides from the fact that politicians use them as political thugs during elections. They also claim it’s “empowering” jobless youths, so they don’t roam around and cause mayhem.
