    I hate it when people come out to say that this APC government has LOST its way. Everyone knew since 2015 that the APC had nothing to offer. Everyone was fully aware that this present Tinubus government also had nothing to offer and had no WAY at all. They had no direction. So to start saying they have lost their way will indicate that they even had a direction in the first place

    To the meat of the matter, the summary of the whole interview is the fact that the country is prostrate, Nad the franckestein in Aso Rock is operating on a template of tabular rasa: total zilch, and emptiness as to how and what next to do regarding the economy and how to operate the wheelz of governance.

    • @ebuka56
      @ebuka56 Месяц назад +2

      When the government realizes that the people are suffering, what do you want the government to do? feed the people? Human existence is survival of the fittest, every individual has to work, create, innovate to solve their immediate problems. Do you want the government to come and setup businesses to grow the economy for people? Government has their own role to play with policies and their improvements to make, but improving the economy lies squarely on the shoulder of the populace. Nigeria should be on it's knees begging the entrepreneurs amongst them to step forward and solve the nation's economic challenges.

      @@Helene-yl5ed you have a point that the government should reduce its expenses and I agree with you. But I promise you even if the government reduces its expenses by 30%, the standard of living of Nigerians will not change. The most important thing is for people to get out there work and innovate to solve problems. If they can’t do this, kneel down and beg those with the knowledge and capacity to do that.

    Instead of enriching the purse of few via palliatives, the short-term measures should be first & foremost, to reduce the petrol price! Can be by swapping the IOC Domestic allocation (crude oil) with local Refineries.
    Also FGN should open northern borders, procure, and open "essential commodity ' retail outlets to sell directly to the citizens. This willcrash the price of grains etc
    The Medium term measures, should include FGN support of local agricultural efforts, to increase production. etc.
    The idea of "allocation of billions to combat" all these sociopolitical economic problems, - sending billions on errand to go & resolve issues.! - is a sheer mediocrity, on the part of the political leaders.

    Dangote in return should sell to the Nigerians 40 % at same rate. The remaining 60 % sold to Dangote refinery should be at normal international rate He can sell equally outside the country at the international rate. Everything will come down immediately. The amount of cash spent on pelletive is enough to balance the equation

    Well said Prof. But the truth remains that people decided to play the ostrich by believing that Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be a good president. Every indicator showed that he was the worst of the major candidates
    Some people decided to fool themselves by thinking he will govern well. He just wants power just like Buhari

    We are just a bundle of contradictions. I ask someone to show me just one policy that Nigerians need to be patient to wait for its gestation to start bearing fruit. We are not all illiterates and fools. The fx, petrol pricing and other policies if at all they qualify for policy thrusts will never have any positive effects for as long as we have no plans to start producing any other thing but crude oil. We can't even refine the crude oil we pride ourselves in producing.
