Yayyy!!! Nigeria deserves this. That old airport was terrible and the process were terrible 😅 From a Jamaican. This is so exciting, I can’t wait to visit Nigeria again 😅 Thank you for the video
People should please let the Airport officials know that begging for money from travellers is unprofessional and very embarrassing for the country, especially in the sight of visitors. Some of us have traveled through many international airports and found that it's only in Naija that Immigration and Custom Officers beg travelers for money. If the government is not paying them enough to do their jobs they should ask for an increase instead of turning themselves into international beggers. This has to stop.
True, I agree but they beg because they are not paid adequately The other airport officials you meet internationally , is their salary a living wage? Every official lower government position in Nigeria known for begging are underpaid. Including the police. It is shameful and embarrassing, I agree, but we KNOW the reason they beg. Its not wrong for Nigerian travellers to maybe start a tipping culture before they are asked, begged or pressured . Staff won't be begging then, just receiving a tip. Same way in the US tipping is basically mandatory precisely for the very same reason. People are underpaid and it is common knowledge, so a parallel culture of tipping developed. People tip without being asked or staff in the US begging for it.
@@sylviasworld9397tipping immigration officials, that nonsensical, if they don’t like the job they should resign , those caught should be sent to jail simple, imagine tipping an immigration officer, what a silly idea
These “beggars” are often officers that come from other parts of the country. When you go to airports in other regions they don’t do this same foolishness… Lagos needs to build their own airport and start their own airline and the foolishness will end.
Thanks for the tips! When I traveled to Nigeria last year (Feb 2023) for the first time. I was wondering why I had to fill out a Health form. So, I will definitely save the link for the future. I was so stressed by that airport, the people asking for money in the bathrooms, the other staff asking for money who provided no service to me, and all the people outside harassing me. Who wouldn't leave me alone two grabbed my luggage and I told them I had it. I never removed my hands from my luggage and they had their hand on it too. The whole time, I'm telling them I got it. Another Nigerian saw them messing with me and he tried to intervene to help me but they still would not leave. Then had the nerve to ask for money for helping me. When clearly I was handling it myself and I didn't ask for their assistance. They would not leave until someone paid them. So, I paid them. I had never experienced that at an airport before. That airport was so stressful and honestly made me not want to visit again because it was just too much. Hearing this and another video I saw of the new airport makes me feel more at ease whenever I decide to visit Nigeria again.

And they are happily relax and say thank you. Have seen some people get aggressive, disrespectful and look down on them. Its unfortunate.
I disagree. That type of behavior shouldn’t be tolerated. Officers shouldn’t be bothering and begging people for money. It slows down business and deters people from doing future business. This is not the way. It has to stop. Serious people do not tolerate or endorse this type of behavior.
Stop giving them money. Start doing your own little bit to stop encouraging corruption in our society. Are you giving them money because they are poor? Or in your mind to curry favours there and then or potentially for the future? If you think that Custom Officer was poor, you would be surprised to know that they are probably a multi property landlord owner.
Not all flights use the new terminal, and even going thru new terminal to the old terminal is terrible..and also if you don't know the route to the pickup gate, you are just stuck with the old walk ways of the parking spot
Thanks for the information... Im glad they are improving the airport.. i have been in and out several times and it has been ridiculous . .. being searched 2 or 3 times flying out etc....and the old terminals are horrible and cramped

Thanks for sharing, good tips! Hopefully the airport experience continues to improve, that would be amazing by Nigerian standard. Don't know if you know the answer to this question. With you coming from the US, are you able to get a visa on site at the airport or is the only option to apply ahead of the time at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington D.C.? Thanks
First of all what’s your nationality? I am very sure if you have a US passport, you can’t get visa on arrival. I doubt if you will even be allowed on the plane in the first place without a visa. If you have a right to a Nigerian passport, your best bet is to apply for one and travel with both your US and Naija passport. That is if dual citizenship is allowed in America. If not get your visa before travelling.
The Nigerian airport stresses me out. It’s hard to go in nicely, coming or going. It’s never been a smooth process. The first time was more confusing but after, it was stressful and annoying. You forgot to mention.. after getting in the airport to leave, after those 2 passport check, when you get inside, you buy food and drink, you must finished before getting to the plane, because there is another check by the plane gate which is very strange 😂😂😂😂 did that end? Why can’t I take my drink I bought in the airport on the flight abi? 😂😂😂😂😂 why are the checking bags again 😅😅😅😅😅 that place is something else.
Would love to pick your brain on getting visas to visit Nigeria. I would think a country would make it as easy as possible to obtain a visa to visit their country. Not Nigeria! From the US, the online process to apply for a visa is broken. You have to spend money to travel to a Nigerian government location to get the visa and fingerprints. You call the embassy and no one picks up. Never seen such a broken system in even lesser country. I got a visa from Kenya, India in under 24 hours. It’s maddening getting Nigerian visa. Any thoughts or anyone found an easier way. Everyone keeps saying if only you had a Nigerian passport. Unfortunately don’t have a Nigerian passport so that option is out for me and my family
My unofficial view is that one of the line to check passports is for the SSS. It is unnecessary. The era of collecting data in silos should be gone by now. One line checking the passport should be enough for the security agencies and as obtainable in the rest of the world. Thanks for this content bro.
Bayo, any information on how to renew Nigerian passport from the USA? Or anyone in the comment section willing to share? Thanks a lot for your information. I’ll take my little Benadryl pill still as I visit Naija.😅
Hello, it's easy now,..takes about 2 months in New York, and about $192 for 5 years. Just go on the website, complete your application, make payment and schedule your appointment for capturing. You can renew in Atlanta and Washington too. But make sure you have your NIN, if you don't already have you need it, it costs $60 in new York
I believe that expired Nigerian passports can now be used to fly into Nigeria but you would have to pay for expedited service to renew while in Nigeria. Without renewal, you may not be permitted to depart Nigeria even if you have a valid passport from another country.
