@@EDGEMOTORS is the screen a stand alone item that can be replaced. My turbos are in good working order, almost 100k miles and I’m a bit nervous I’m going to experience failure due to oil starvation. My A8 is at Audi more having the driver side cams replaced, they explained they were no moving freely and put the EPC light on and restricted to 4000rpm. I asked about replacing the screen while it was in the shop and they said it was integrated in the turbos…$9000 to replace both turbos. Could not justify that cost when I see larger, aftermarket turbos for $3000 that appear to be reliable and not Chinese eBay versions. Any thoughts?
@@MrOffshore the screen is separate from the turbos, I don’t remember exact cost on all the gaskets and screens that will have to be replaced, but it’s around 200-300 all together. From the dealer.
Hey, i got a s8 d4, i have to replace the turbos there now, any video I can use to learn from it, just need the steps to remove, i can install new ones back in reverse after. Any help appreciated, thanks!
Unfortunately they have a design flaw where the pick oil screen gets clogged to the turbos and stops enough oil l from going to to the turbochargers, and if I understand right it causes bearing failure and more
Buy cheap, buy twice, I guess the customer has learnt this now.
Love watching your videos, can't get enough Audi content. 👍
That’s a great analogy!

Would different superlubricants for these turbos ( Liquimoly has special ones for turbos) have helped ?
