Still come back late at night when I can't sleep and listen to songs like this and think back to being a teenager. The mid 2000s were the happiest times of my life. I remember the music, going to shows, Myspace, livejournal and people I haven't seen in almost two decades.
34 years old and still here. Thrice , alexisonfire, Funeral for a friend, TBS, Silverstein are some of the bands I'll never stop listening to.
silverstein easily the best out of all them... very early TBS is a close second...
Chiodos. Got a tattoo for them
We just gonna leave the used out if the greats
Sugarcult ❤
Brand new can hang
I was 21 years old when this song came out... had it on repeat. The heartache of being young, it resonated. Somehow even at 43, it still does. Amazing tune.
Same!
First 2 albums are masterpieces. Never heard anything like it.
Absolutely!
I know what you mean, they way they weave together their voices and lines at the same time
@@futureshock7425 Exactly. Added to the fact that they couldn’t make a bad hook
@@kingexclusivo yeah after louder now the band fell off. Rest in peace atleast they made three good albums. There was this post hardcore band named "Finch" that had potential and decided to change their sound after one album. Completely fucked up their future
@@schizojit Yeah I love Finch. That first album has so many bangers.
I dont always listen to this album, but when I do, so do my neighbors
The early 2000's. Best time for music ever
I agree, every genre on the early 2000s are on its peak
40 years old and still listening to this. Got me through some tough times. Thank you for the music.
😢
Same. I lived this album.
30 years old and I am still listening to this!
I'm 34 yo dude 😁
As you should
40 and still listening!
These cats haven't been copied yet
Every fn song on this album is great, and every one on the next one as well
This is arguably one of the Greatest songs of the 20th century
It was released in the 21st century but close enough
21st century….
how much cognitive dissonance is required to post this? lol
@@eternalux6343 I mean technically it was in their 1999 demo tape
@@psychwardsandSCENE okay bro this isn't psychology class, you can use normal words
I thought this video was gonna be lost in the abyss forever
Fucking Amazon song
The Abyss is not worthy of swallowing this video
100% 🤙
Never.
Totally glad it’s not lost! I haven’t seen this video in 15 years or so
When we were innocent & young.
and all we had was music, tbs, the punk music & lifestyle, late night's, drinking partying, and surviving. Yes I'm one of those old punks who listened to punk and t.b.s.
Same here bro, I'm only 30, but I became a punk and emo kid really young thanks to my half brother Ryan. I wish music was still like this
They look like babies in this video lol. Time flies it feels like I bought this album at Walmart yesterday. It was 19 years ago 😳
My first cd I bought w my own money! Target $7.99
My mom bought my this from album from Target 19 years ago lol.... yeah she pretty cool.
Compared to how long the universe had been around, and the amount of things humans don’t k ow about it , we are all babies who know nothing about anything
(Lyrics)
September never stays this cold
Where I come from
And you know
I'm not one for complaining,
But I love the way you'd roll
Excuses off the tip of your tongue
As I slowly fall apart (slowly, quietly, slowly)
Fall apart
This won't mean a thing come tomorrow
And that's exactly how I'll make it seem
Cause I'm still not sleeping,
Thinking I've crawled home from worse than this
So please, please (please)
I'm running out of sympathy (I'm running out of sympathy!)
And I never said I'd take this
I never said I'd take this lying down
She says
"Come on, come on, let's just get this over with [Repeat x2]
(I never said I'd take this lying down, let's just get this over with,
And I've crawled home from worse than this)
She says
"Come on, come on, let's just get this over with
She says
"Come on, come on"
You always come close but this never comes easy,
I still know everything [Repeat x3]
You always come so close
I still know everything, I still know everything, I still know
You always come close but this never comes easy [Repeat x2]
You always come, you come in close
I never said I'd take this lying down [Repeat x3]
But I've crawled home from worse than this
If it's not keeping you up nights
Then what's the point [Repeat x4]
I'm in your room
Now is this turning you on
Am I turning you on?
I'm in your room
Are you turned on?
I'm on the corner of your bed,
I'm practically naked,
Are you turned on,
Are you turned on?
It feels strange seeing Adam with not long hair 😂
Yup
And skinny!
I can't recognise him
@@RonaldReaganRocks1 lol jeez... I mean you're not wrong but he's had the long hair a lot longer than he's been a thiccboi.
Yeah he looks 14 af
I was 19 when this came out. Still one of the best albums ever made. Every song. I am 40 now, and I still come back to them. This song will always be my favorite though. ❤️🤘
Yes Taking Back Sunday, i think we're all turned on
How have I been a TBS fan for almost 20 years and I'm only just seeing this now for the first time?!
Me too
You a rookie. I downloaded this video on Kazaa back in the day. It was terrible quality, you had to squint to see what was going on
The album tool some time and a lot of touring before it took off. In that time they changed their look drastically. They're going for the thrift shop look that was popular till just shortly after this. It looked good. I could see that coming back. But the way emo kids dressed after this. That whole black clothes and black hair Myspace look was god awful. It was weird to be at shows and take those kids seriously because it was just so ridiculous. I think only late the 90s nu-metal aesthetic was the only thing worse.
@@JMG0590 this was the first music video I ever downloaded way back in 2004 lol. Timeless classic for sure
Same
Man, I was like 15 when this came out. Now I am approaching my mid 30's😔 I feel so old now... This and Number five with a bullet are still my fav TBS tracks.
Early 2000s punk & alternative hits differently and I always loved it then and now I still do
The song still stands up all these years later, one of my all time favorites
it feels like i just got off the bus, turned on fuse and i’m waiting for aol to start up
Literal babies in this video. Loved them then and even more now. Adam has literally had a whole ass transformation, and I love it.
Ah the good old days, oh what I'd do and give just to get back to these times!😔
Back in 2009 my high school friend and I went on a road trip to Vegas to see Taking Back Sunday at the Hard Rock. We loved a lot of the same songs, but TBS topped that list. We had a falling out later that year, but here I am, in June 13, 2023, still thinking about her. Jenn, if you're out there, Chris still thinks of you whenever he hears any song from TBS's first two albums.
This band is just amazing. Didn’t even know this had a music video.
the Taking Back Sunday that I fell in love with
First three!
tell all your friends still may be the best overall album of all time. not a single bad track.. I mean from an emo 14 year old to a 30 year old adult; the songs may have a different personal meaning but the album is timeless.
Good old days @LA Balitaan
I literally just said this exactly, out loud, then scroll past this comment. Omfg
@@owafrickx8670 yo! Hahaha
A beautiful girl can make you dizzy,
Like you've been drinking jack and coke all morning.
She can make you feel high,
Full of the single greatest commodity known to man:
Promise. promise of a better day,
promise of a greater hope,
promise of a new tommorow.
This particular aura,
can be found in the gait of a beautiful girl.
In her smile, and in her soul.
In the way she makes every rotten little thing about life
seem like it's gonna be ok.
This is my fav part of this song ... any links to a video that includes it?
@@brittanyd521 if you search for it it isnt really hard to find
Yupppppppppppp
I call this the "Jack & Coke Version".
Wow that unlocked memories
This was such a throwback to the college early 2000's and just vibes, "But I love the way you'd roll
Excuses off the tip of your tongue"
Taking Back Sunday, one of the reasons I am still alive and surviving. Thank you for all the amazing songs, they keep me going.
I remember hearing them for the first time from some friends working at Trader Joe's on Long Island back in 2001 and still impressed by the layered texture of the vocals
John Nolans screeeeeam though ❤❤❤

I remember being 12 discovering them on MTV. Been a hardcore loyal fan since! I’m 25 now! 💕
My wife plays this often and gets it stuck in my head so now I'm here too...
Taking the bus to work, after college, listening to this. These times were so busy and hectic. I miss dearly.
Back here in 2024, and it's like I never left
That fight club poster lol these old videos from high school almost bring me to tears
I remember 16 years ago , this song and their album was my soundtrack while cleaning our house. Then i got married and influenced my son and now his a pop punk kid 🤘😎. At the age of 35 still im a punk fan!
One of the best TBS tracks ever produced 🔥🔥
Has to be their best song it’s great
september never stays this cold
This song takes me back to my high school days. Crazy how fast time flies
Crazy how this is the first song they ever wrote together and 1:11 is my favorite part of anything they’ve ever done not to discount anything they’ve done after but it just encapsulates everything that is so good about this band everything that makes them so insanely catchy but also chill inducing and full of energy and emotion idk
This is my favorite of theirs as well. It's been my favorite since I first heard when I was 9😅 20 years ago
Bristol, UK, 2004 ish. My CHEMICAL Romance supporting TBS. Best gig of my life.
New Found Sunday
the part around 1:30 is fucking amazing when they start singing together building up to chorus
Im gunna take this as a early birthday present ☺️💝
I'm 39, still love it. Amazed with the voice and music of these folks.
I'm guessing the original master isn't available, which is a shame for preservation because this version is the highest quality available... and it's pretty low.
Still better than the other one that has been floating around on YT before this one
even at 360p this is beautiful to see again
2005. We all had just graduated, and these guys did a show in Long Beach.... So many of us were there! 💜💛 LANCERS
This band is not talked about enough
Them using house phones makes me feel so good for some reason lol I just love this video. 31 and it takes me back
This album ran endlessly in my 1997 Monte Carlo
i will always love this band no matter how old i get. TBS will always have a place in my heart. i will die loving this band!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe I still feel this so deeply.
Sooo PLEASEeeeeeeeee PLEASEeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!! Emotion is unmatched
I remember everything when i hear this... When im at streesful doctor procedures, they put on music for me and when they ask i only have one choice....tbs... love u guys and damn being 34 now!
Takes me back to my sad emo days searching for love.
34 this year and still here listening never grow up guys ❤
Come back to melbourne guys! We all miss you!!
nothing like taking back Sunday on a Sunday. nothing like it.
Take me back.
god I feel so old
I remember getting this album at 13..... can't believe how times goes. 18 yrs later and I'm still listening to it like it I just got it from Walmart. Ugh always gonna love those moments.
36 still blasting this one
Iconic. What a re-upload
That feel when you knew this band before Clone High sorta made this relevant. Friggin' love this band for-fucking-ever. Glad the CH fans are appreciating it too.
Mark my words, this song will reach a billion views one day.
First heard tbs on the victory style no. 5 album, almost 20 years ago and since then i bought every album and listen to them up to this day.
Back when you actually had to watch tv to catch your fav bands music video. 31 year old here, those were the fucking days man, shit everything just sucks now.
"SHE SAID, COME COME ON, LET'S GE THIS OVER WITH" Haunts me to this day at 29. Been thru alot of relationships and the last one was a struggle with her mental health. She used that as a crutch and broke me down to nothing as i tried to pick her up. Threatened to not live 4 times and had to pick up the pieces, cats rent, everything while she was gone. Was it manipulation or was she sick? Now im a broken man just listening to music she never understood im lost
Tough to make a judgment just from this comment, but your description reminds me of my sociopathic ex/makes me think your ex may have a personality disorder.
I'm so sorry man. I'm currently in a relationship exactly like yours....but I love her so much that I take everything she throws at me and still hold her at night when she's okay again and sorry. I know she doesn't mean the things she says, I have almost all the same mental illnesses she has so I understand and know she's not herself when she gets like that.
I always fall so hard for "crazy" people....but at least I have someone who loves me❤
Also we're the same age!;
Damn, I can come to these bands and perfectly see my teen years :) what a feaking blast we had. With awesome music on the radio. This is what comfort feels like for me. BEST EVER
A time when their music was still awesome. Nowadays it's hard to find this kind of music because it's all in the past.
A melody line that touches my heart. I could feel the professional spirit of Taking, who played with all their heart.
So young!!! I miss Eds!
I've had this song in my head for the past 16 years and somehow only just learned the name of it. I'm also just now realizing how many TBS songs that I actually know by heart. I must have trauma blocked their whole existence from my head.
Nostalgic! Reminiscing on the music and days wayback early 00's
I had a victory records demo with this song on it in like 2003/4, good memories.
Got my ticket to see yall in July!! Teenage dream come true!! Still listening and will forever!
Fan since '02, this always puts me back to being a 14 year old girl ditching pe to blast TBS and other gems in the racquet ball court lol
Masterpiece
You keep me up nights still 18 years later ❤❤❤❤
Loved this whole album so much. Actually, love all their albums.
31 and I still try to see them when I can.. my boy will know of them 💯
2024 we still listening to the bangers
Most impressive part? Adam managed to reach double digit mic swings despite having it on a stand for the first 3rd of the video.
Trying to finally see them live this yr 2024❤
still come back every now and then !
such a sick time for music
Legend! Saw you guys for my first live gig in Nottingham with my first girlfriend 🥲 will remember your songs forever, along with all the amazing times had with friends listening to them
same man! my first was them with armor for sleep and underoath. thought I hit the lottery with a lineup of my 3 favorite bands at the time
oh man, this is nostalgia thru and thru
Get to see them in august. Wonder if those knees still work the same lol
There was a late night infomercial promotiong this CD on TV and this video was the song they used. Beautiful time
Hard to top this Music Video
33 years old and still listening.
This bring so much awesome memories 🥹
Imagine if this lineup stayed together.
TBS!!!! 🔥
I forgot about this video. Wow. This brings back memories.
Takes me back to 2001-2002.
2022 and i still love this song ❤️
meee tooo .. i cry. TT
