God that car looks like a spaceship & those lights are crazy!.
This car was so ahead of its' time it looks futuristic even today, 30 years later. That is the only car which can rival the F355 Berlinetta if i was given the choice to take one home. It's like asking me which one of my eyes or arms i'd like to keep and lose the other.
I would clean this car every day...love the xj220

Good job, though a deeper cut compound would have got the clarity and reflection detail allot better.
It's odd watching someone else machine polish, you seem to have a very unique way of doing things

serious question, why not just take the wheels off? Especially on those cars with the single lug nut, seems like it would make the process a lot more thorough AND easier.

James Downes Small? Its 7ft wide! It didn't feel that small in real life. But it is very low.
Lol I meant low ... but 7 ft wide ha that's insane.
I was surprised how much smaller these were in real life, as you only notice the span of the wheel base and comparative width when you're inside.. It's the same with F1 cars, they look monstrous on the TV, stand next to one for the first time and it seems 'small'.
Surprised to see a wax used in the end. No sealants?
What hardware are you guys using...polisher, polish compound, etc. your work is absolutely gorgeous!

just to confirm are you spraying the prewash foam to dry paint? or is the paint rinsed off first? cheers
Matt Doyle the pre wash works best if you apply it to a dry car as it will stick to the paint for a bit longer than if the car was already wet... but it doesn't make a massive difference if the car is wet or dry tbh.

You used a pad With the wax. zymol wants you to use the palm of the hand
Yes. Always have and always will. By hand you waste 10x more product. It also goes on so thick you risk marring the paint trying to buff off so much excess.
Much better results with a pad as you can get a thinner more even layer.
I've been using it a few years this way and results of customers cars that I see regularly speak for themselves
