My personal rankings for the most toxic platform fanbases: 1) PlayStation fanbase 2) PC fanbase (particularly the Steam diehards) 3) Xbox fanbase 4) Nintendo fanbase Note: I have heard that Nintendo fans can be insufferable themselves. I don't know how true that is or isn't because I pay zero attention to them due to the fact that I pay almost zero attention to Nintendo. So, by default, they have to be in last place with me because I don't know them well enough to compentently rank them. Interestingly enough, the reverse is the order I utilize the platforms. I play on Xbox the most, PC the second-most, and PlayStation whenever I have to. This is just my thing, though. Y'all do you.
Not really. To make a pc port is tougher than making a console version. What makes pc always win is the ease of putting games on the platform without need of verification. The other is backward compatibility that allows pc to thrive more over time.
@@raven80wolfx2Console games are created on PC... Some devs just don't bother fixing the ports on powerful gaming desktops. Plus some games work better on PC than consoles
I prefer console if others wish to use pc or anything else let them. I dont see consoles ever really going away. Even steam may be interested in jumping into the console market though who knows if rhat rumor is true but would definitely spice things up if it is. Would be could be a good way to merge the two markets
On a video earlier today I was laughed at for giving an example of playing baldurs gate 3 using my phone and a raiser kishi while waiting for a delayed hospital appointment. Ive been playing computer games since before the first space invaders, when I wrote a game on a university mainframe using ASCII codes for graphics. Ive even wrote a version of the game a few times in my own code in various languages from low level machine code assember to poke commands on the C64, bbc basic to blitz basic, C++ and everything in between as a hobbyist. To even imagine a game like Baldurs gate 3 could be played in your hand in a device smaller than the original wagon wheel or mars bar is nothing short of amazing. And its good to feel that sense of wonder all these years later. The one thing Ive learned about gaming in all this time is that there is always change. Again we are starting to see the landscape shift. Consoles are not going to go away but they are going to move in two directions. Xbox is going to move away from the closed walled garden approach akin to Android with a hybrid device. Playstation is going to tighten their walled garden and make it harder to avoid PSN registration. And the younger generations are going to stream live service games to their phones. This is where Xbox should continue to push and pivot towards.
Yeah i dont understand how it is cringe like that person said. It doesnt have to be playing games on your work break. It could also be useful for travel or vacation or even if you're like a college student and cannot bring your Xbox console or PC rig, you still have capability to play on mobile, your laptop or ROG Ally for example
@@FewCan456 Exactly. Sometimes when you are waiting somewhere like that and you have worries how things are going to go, a game to play that grabs your attention like that helps more than people realise.
I like consoles. I own many of them. 10 to be exact and have put enough hours into each to warrant the purchase. I'm also a PC gamer, and having to buy a console doesn't really make sense since most of the Xbox and Playstation games that I want to play are either on PC already or will be coming to PC. Most of the 3rd party games that are on the XBOX Game Store are already on PC, same applies to PS. Every friend I know that is a console gamer knows that PCs run games WAY better, but they can't justify spending the money on a decent, bulky desktop. They prefer laptops for their portability and gaming laptops are way too expensive, bulky and heavy. I do have one friend who is a hardcore PlayStation fanboy and says it's way better than a PC. I invited him over, didn't say a word, hit the "Guide" button on the controller and Big Picture Mode came up. First thing he says: "this looks like a console." He went through my games, started up Warhammer 4K: Space Marine 2 without any issues and his jaw dropped as soon as it started. He didn't pick up his jaw off the floor or put the game down for 2 hours. Said it was the best looking games he's ever seen. He's never said anything about PlayStation being better to me ever again :D

I have the current gen consoles ..xbox being my favorite this gen. I cant afford a nice gaming rig but it's dumb to think that PC isnt the premium way to play....i mean yea it does take PC to make games .. and consoles really are just stripped down PCs with their own OS.... simple as that.
I said this before. The xbox play anywhere strategy has the potential to decrease xbox console sales and increase competitors platform sales. If it does play out that xbox consoles sales going forward decrease drastically while xbox content increase in all platform s, then there will be little incentive to invest in loss inducing console manufacturing. But let see how things go next couple generations
No. Play Anywhere will have the opposite effect on software sales because it will encourage you to buy a game on Xbox rather than Steam because if you are an Xbox user, you get multiple copies for your Xbox, PC, etc. This is meant to retain Xbox players inside the ecosystem

PC will always win when it takes a PC to make a game. It's not even simple math. It's just plain common sense.

I own a PC and a PS5 and I agree some PS5 fanboys are lunatics.
PCs are winning because they aren't just meant for games... Hard to get gamers to understand that, though.

It goes to show that Sony's ban stick is very very selective.
