Yeah this whole album is priceless, timeless. I try to expose as many people as I can to this album. This has been my favorite album since I was 17- 15 years. And its never gotten old
Just saw these guys in Toronto for the 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THIS ALBUM. They were absolutely incredible. Playing with the same energy as they had 20 years prior.
I'm 47 now, first heard this record in 2003 and I loved it even though I came from a thrash background and a more traditional 70s 80s hard rock and metal. I can't believe this song is 17 years old! Man that's crazy how all these years have flown by so so fast. So many life experiences in between
Sad that I wasn't old enough to fully experience this era of music back when it was blooming but happy that I get access to all of it at the tip of my fingers anytime anywhere. The machine itself will introduce you to new songs and bands.
@@scottwalsh3135 It's not metal, but you can hear the metal influence in some of their songs. Plus, he was essentially saying Thrice were the gateway band that got him into more rock and metal music, like for me I've always liked rock and punk, but bands like Underoath and Thrice were the bands that got me into heavier music, screams, riffs and heavy distorted guitars, pounding drums, breakdowns etc
Thrice has very spiritual lyrics. This physical life and earth is not a reality like the matrix. There’s life after our physical death. So we should ask God our Christ to lead the way
I start off level headed then right at about ohhhhh sayyyyy 1:05 I crank it to full blast and sing at the top of my lungs till im crying. a healthy release.
Nice block.. did you have to get material added to the grip to get it like that ? Been thinking about sending one out to get a custom grip job with laser etched stippling vs just stippling with a wood burner/soldering iron at home. I know it's not hard to if you take your time and all.
@@muddyhotdog4103 if you're just doing like traditional micro stippling, you can do it, but doing the recessed borders and all the polishing is tough. You have to know what you're doing. And the hump on the back is modeled after the Browning Hi-power. I hear the area up and then remold it from the inside, then put some epoxy in the back strap channel to reinforce it.
Your eyes, followed me here. Your eyes, seamless and sure. They leave me broken and, in need of a cure. Your eyes, followed me here. Your eyes, sifting my soul. They leave me broken and forge diamonds from the coal. They race me along the infinite synapse of white lines. and then while chasing the dawn with storybook syntax Your eyes slit the throat, of all I know. About myself in this life. This silhouette lie. And your eyes, speaking in tongues. Vigilant still, filling my lungs. Testing my will. They leave me broken and, bruised and bleeding. Your eyes, resting in flame, Leave me breathless again Like hydrogen Split on faultlines or ten years living with exposure to radon Your eyes slit the throat, of all I know. About myself in this life. This silhouette lie. Your eyes, Your eyes. Speaking in tongues. Vigilant still, lead our way. Filling my lungs. Testing my will. You slit the throat, of all I know. About myself in this life. This silhouette lie. You slit my throat. Because I know, That this life, is a lie. So slit my throat.
🎉my favorite cover song to sing September 2023🎉 been listening to this timeless fucking awesome album for twenty years now! Yall kick ass! Keep rockin my socks fellas! -DJ Fozilla
Once I got to this song, I was very happy with my singing despite my character not having a voice. Halfway through I had an optimistic girl who’s roblox avatar was wearing a frog hat and she asked me about the band, and she listened to The Artist In the Ambulance for me and really enjoyed it. My friend Kenny also joined in around this time and we had a nice convo about the band’s music after singing this

2024 - Who's still banging this album?
after 20 years, i still come to this
I'm a 15 year old girl and i really wish more of my generation would check this band out. my absolute favorite band.
As a male at the same age I highly agree.
Splendid. I was convinced your generation was doomed with good music
As an old dude who grew up on this album, I'm proud of you. Carry the torch
Dude. Thrice was a major inspiration to everything I listen too.

One of the most underrated bands ever. This whole album specifically is just 🔥

in 2003 i was in third grade and that was around the time i started listening to thrice thanks to my brother :)
Hope life been treating you well buddy.
Ahhh sounds like high school all over again.
20 years now still just as good
Never heard this untill today. That 7/4 part for the prechorus goes hard.
Hitting this for the first time in years, three chord stabs and memories flood, face melts. What a track. What an album
Used to jam to this in my 2003 trailblazer in high school. Now jamming in a 2021 minivan. Thanks for the memories Thrice.
This still kicks so hard even today
Timeless brotha!
I just don’t hear many artists writing so uniquely like this anymore. I love the writing style of this. Lyrically and instrumentally
Which style?
Yes Dustin has some the most amazing lyrics I ever heard
Possibly the best song on the album and a contender for top 5 Thrice songs
true
Sad that I wasn't old enough to fully experience this era of music back when it was blooming but happy that I get access to all of it at the tip of my fingers anytime anywhere. The machine itself will introduce you to new songs and bands.

2020 and this song kills still. Thrice is one of my tops and the lyrical content is amazing too. Just great music all around, top to bottom.
Best song on the album.

I had a surfline DVD and it had a part with Ozzie Smith shredding I wanna say teauphoo with this song playing it was my intro to Thrice 🥳🥳
This album is what made me fall in love with drumming. So fun to drum to this song, both on an actual kit and a table and keyboard as I'm doing now.
Maybe the best post-hardcore album of all time. Other hardcore bands cover songs from this album.
the shape of punk to come by REFUSED
but this is a very close runner up.

They leave me broken and forge diamonds from the coal.

About myself in this life.
This silhouette lie.
And your eyes, speaking in tongues.
Vigilant still, filling my lungs.
Testing my will.
They leave me broken and, bruised and bleeding.
Your eyes, resting in flame,
Leave me breathless again
