[WORKING] Infinite Ship Scrapping Glitch on No Man's Sky 5.0 Worlds Part 1 (July 2024)

Hey everyone! Today I'm showing you a glitch that I found while working on my permadeath series. It lets you scrap the same ships over and over again, giving you infinite money and materials. This glitch is working as of July 2024 on the 4.6 version of No Man's Sky (The Orbital Update)
EDIT Jul.13: To cancel a ship from getting scrapped while getting goodies, all you need to do is swap ships. You can simply scrap your most valuable ship, then immediately swap ships, then swap back to your original ship and do it over again. You still need three ships, one to scrap, one that it take it's place, and one to swap back to and cancel the scrapping process.

Found this a few months ago but someone posted a video, so not the first. I now use this to glitch scarp all the parts from the ships before fully scraping the ship. A great video that explains it better!
As of 14 hours after posting of this video this glitch does also work on Xbox

I probably won't use this glitch myself but I figured I'd throw this in in case it works/makes it easier for people. While you have a ship selected in the 'summon vehicle' menu you can hit CTRL+# (any of the numerical keys on the number row) to set that as a bind for that number. Then instead of opening the summon vehicle menu and rushing to select the vehicle you can simply hit the corresponding number key. I haven't tested it with this glitch specifically so I have no idea if scrapping the ship will remove the shortcut, but if it works it would make it easier to pull off without risking selecting the wrong ship.
The aegis of the void is really bad I noticed it shows up every time I reload but sometimes after I scrap or sell. Unfortunately, this happened during a trade and i incidentally entered it losing my active shop to the void. Tried to fix it and noticed it swapped the order of my ships. Now all the stats are swapped with there being 2 aegis of voids that replaced 2 f my ships. And those two are now combined as a solar with the name and color of the iron vulture. It’s critically wrecked. So long story short be very careful with the aegis. Scraping it can actually scrap your real ships and seemingly turn them into a ghost ship that can replace your other ships but bug them with that ghost ship. Your ships will swap stats and lose many of their tech without a way of putting them back
This is very odd, and looks like the Aegis has seemingly unpredictable behaviour. I haven’t had an issue with it yet, and it actually only pops up on one of my saves
I was just scrapping for solar ship parts, now have 3 ghost ships that keep appearing (the aegis of the void), and my Starborn Runner has vanished 🤬 Hope they fix the issues, but I would say my ship is gone for good now.

While doing this glitch i somehow got the "aegis of the void" to show up and just keep scrapping that instead till it vanished

I tried this out with some Interceptors and it worked wonders.
Works on the current expedition too! There’s a challenge to get 6,000 nanites and it was too ez xdxd
Came here after finding out that I had 3 ghost sentinels ships in my list that were sold the previous day. I don't know why but they don't have an icon in my list, and the color and name changed too, but they are definitly the ones I sold earlier, just rerolled.
PS: Retried (not by inadvertance this time) after patch 5.1.1 (update of 24/07) on PC, still working
You don't need it... Just switch to custom mode and everything for free, then switch back to nornal mode when done...
I got a different glitch with it but similar. It involves claiming a damaged ship then scrapping then going back to the site and its back in the same location.

For whatever reason, i dont lose a ship...i just quickly swap to a diff ship and keep all the ships. And for whatever other reason, i dont get anything but inventory items, like ship parts or tech or augments. Never units
STILL WORKS. Algorithm doing God's work and I'm not even searching for this video, randomly stumble across it lmao.
EDIT: You can also do this with 'Salvage Parts' for Ship customization.

Update if you want to get the most of this buy a unique ship and max it out Ive made about 2 billion credits in about 10 minutes
Unique ships are definitely the best, I do this on my main profile with a sentinel ship worth about 95M and it's a very fast 2b units
Still working on PC as of latest update. Test to see if it works and then buy an expensive ship that flies in to keep flipping
Think about this - say you scrap the only ship you have near the start of the game and you don't have enough credits to buy another ship. You can't play NMS without a ship.

I think it works on Windows too. I was wondering why I was able to scrap a ship 2-3 times. (Gone now, though. Rats.)
I have a ghost damaged c class hauler that I scrap every time and the next day when I open the game it is there again... SO I SCRAP IT AGAIN lol (I'm a new player, I'm not doing anything, it just happened, on regular windows 10)

didn't seem to work for me may of been the ships i was trying to sell :x
The gameplay is based on farming. You take that out and it's the same as uninstalling it.
I don’t understand why the third ship disappears? Does that mean the ship you don’t scrap is deleted? My third ship is an exotic that I want to keep
you don't have to do it this way, what i do is scrap a ship then immediately switch to another and then switch back to the ship i scraped and do it again, this way you don't lose any ship as long is u immediately switch ships when u scrap
made 1 billion units and 70k nanites in 30 minutes💀

@@originalgxx when you have an A class or S class ship, the technology you get after scrapping is worth several thousand nanites each.
