For what it's worth, the BFG KO2 haven't been white letters since the last version of them, prolly 7+ years ago. They have been the absolutely best AT for wet roads and snow, they are smoother, quieter and wear well. They are light weight as well.

Good stuff, I do like the tire, they do still make them with white lettering but it’s probably an option or on one side 👍🏾

BFG KO2 in the DT version for our HD trucks. They have discontinued the DT, Different Tread, material version. This version doesn't have the SNOW rating. I have these DT version on my 19 Mega 3500 SRW and love them. The regular KO2s are soft and will never put them on the HD truck. I did put the regular KO2s on my wife's Toyota Sequoia and they are horrible. I see a lot of Falken WildPeak AT3W on trucks here in Iowa....

I loved my BFG AT’s on my old 14 Silverado. Had them in a 33”. Then switch to 35’s and bought falkens. What a terrible tired. Slipped and slide in the rain and was noisy. I wish BFG made a all terrain 37x12.5x18. I like my Nitto RG’s but did have some balancing issues upon install.

Late to the party but I run 35" Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my Jeep. They are great offroad and have a lot of traction for rock climbing and going places that most people can't. However, they are terrible in the snow and rain. At a stop light they will spin in the rain and in the snow we were all over the place in the mountains. This is on a lighter Jeep so it may be different if you are running them on a full sized truck.

I went with Cooper ST/Max on my supercharged 2017 Tacoma after a 3” lift. 255/85/16. They’re load-range E so I expect they make them in 35” or a slightly different tire from Cooper. Best part, they don’t sing much to my surprise. I’ve had Toyo OC, Nitto RG’s and Goodyears and Goodrich’s on my previous Cummins and V10’s and I’d put the Coopers right with them.

I have a 2020 ram 3500 mega cab with General Grabber ATX. I live in Michigan and they made me a lover of General tires. They do great in snow, rain, dry. I would say take a look at it. I also tow a 2022 Yukon 43’ 2600 lbs pin weight and the tires do great. The factory air suspension is a great option too. It rides a 1000 times better than the leaf spring only set up

My experience with my ‘18 Cummins is that it destroys tires very quickly. 20K miles is how long my Goodyear Wrangler’s lasted pulling my 17K LB toyhauler 5th wheel.

K02's for treadlife, and light offroad. Very smooth. I will say going to mud terrains is night and day from an all terrain for offroad, and snow. Just lean towards a directional tire for mud terrains to keep noise down.

BFG KO2 on F250 with a lift currently have 55k miles on them. Never had noise and I am not the best about rotation and balance. Best tire I have ever owned. Its not even close either. Had Toyo at2 on it and for whatever reason it swam on the road in rain. Never did go away but I got about 40k out of them before the loud roaring started.

  • @zxej6879

I missed the original story. I have the Toyo AT3 on my '20 Dodge Durango. And they have some life left in them with 63k miles. Great traction in rain and on icy roads. They also are awesome in the sand. Hardly got to drive them in snow.
But since you have 20" stock rims. The absolute best tire for your truck towing the same trailer my daughter and son-in-law spent 16 months traveling the USA and Canada with the 3 grandkids. Is the Cooper ST Maxx in 275/65-20. Anything better would require 9 or 10 inch rims and a AEV lift kit.
My daughters 2018 Ram 3500 Megacab 4wd 6.7L ran the stock 18" aluminum wheel. For that situation I recommended they run the General APT, since they wanted the stock 33" diameter. The 275/70-18 size is the same size as my wife's '18 2500 Ram Crewcab 6.7L Cummins. They gave good traction on grass pulling that big ole 5th wheel. The Cooper ST Maxx does last long. They are not the most popular tire. But I ran them on another truck in a tall skinny size as an experiment. Amazing traction, but I don't believe the tall skinny concept works the best in snow. The tires have been out in the sun for the last 4 years, after I switched to wider rims and tires on that truck. NO CRACKS!!! The Toyos on my Durango have cracks along the tread. The General APT tires on my wife's truck has cracks along the tread. All 3PMSF tires will crack along the tread. Just get the ST MAXX tires siped at America's Tire Company. Here in California I get siping done at Les Schwab. The tires grip better and ride smoother.
But whatever tire you get. Get the Centramatic tire balancing system. I put a set on my wife's truck yesterday. Took off all the weights. They balance perfect! Wheel wobble starts in tires above 35mph. The Centramatics start working as low as 22mph. I tested the installation at on the roads near Lancaster, CA. The ride was much smoother at up to 102mph. Went over alligator cracked pavement and other pavement defects. And got a smoother ride. The truck has Bilstein 5100 shocks in the back, and Eibach shocks in the front. The truck is stock height. And while the Bilstein 4600's are nicer than stock. We have a 4wheel pop up camper on order. And I found that pulling our bumper pull trailer. The firmer 5100 are the same size as the 4600's. But feel better on curvy mountain roads.
If you don't buy the Cooper STT MAXX. The Toyo AT3 are your best bet. If you use the stock 20" rim. Go with the 275/65-20 size. But change your brakes to Kevlar pads with any tire you buy. They will brake better in any conditions.

Great review. Replacing our tires this summer, too. Had stock-size BFG KO2s put on our '19 mega cab dually & they've been horrible. Maybe 30K on them (mostly work commuting) & they are severely scalloped on the front (alignment is spot-on) & wearing flat, but fast in the rear. Thinking of Ridge Grapplers going up 2 sizes to 255/80 R17, bringing it from 31" to 33". Full-time RVers also & will be hitting the road this fall after 3 years of being stationary - want something robust, long-lasting, & good looking, especially for around $2K for 6 of them.

Just food for thought, I actually spent less money buying 17" AEV Saltas and 35" Nitro Recon Grapplers and then selling my stock 20s than if I bought new 35s for the stock 20s. The advantage to a 17 or 18 wheel and 35 is a better ride with the higher sidewall. I found the best price for tires on Simple Tire.

Wish i wouldve seen this earlier! You shouldve gone with the falken wildpeak's. Either the at3 or mt and im sure they are leaps and bounds over any tire on this list in all categories! And im not jabbing at any of these tires because i really wouldve chosen the yokohama's if it had to be from this list. I do ALOT of tire research and have personally tried the falkens as well as alot of these others and if there was a zombie apocolaypse i would choose falken as my last tire (ive towed heavy with both falkens in rain storms and never once did i lose any traction or feel any movement from the trucks!) Like i said tho, if its just from this list im hoping you went with the yokohama's followed by the toyo in 2nd. Either way i hope you are happy with your choice. I just started to test the goodyear ultraterrain's from discount tire on my HD and so far im very impressed in all condition's ive had them in and they are quiet.

Well I didn’t vote or comment on that poll because I have zero experience with any of those tires lol. But this was a cool video giving shoutouts to subscribers.
My two cents on the subject would have been just stay with an AT tire and maybe not go so aggressive tread design. But they do look cool.
My truck has 275/65/20 tires now and they are a Good Year Wrangler Trail Runner with the 3 peak rating. Only at 6,000 miles but I like them so far. I don’t think they make them in the 295/65/20 size however. A lot of guys with Chevys are just going to 35x12.50 and they claim they don’t rub. So I don’t know. But I may go up a size too when the time comes for my truck.

@@JB_WhoWork 😂😂 well you never truly know. But I will say that I like this truck better than anyone I’ve ever had. So my intention is to keep it.
I was going to make my first trip to the races Saturday and would be my first real towing experience with it but 60% chance of thunderstorms right now 🤬.
I did tow a “massive” 12’ single axle utility trailer with it. Handled it really good lol. Couldn’t even tell it was back there.

I still say goodyear dura tracs. They lasted well. Had good grip in mud, sand, snow, rain, ice. Ride was smooth. And i tow a 10k pound travel trailer. A lil noisy. But just listen to music and you don't hear it. Never have I ever had a better tire.I wish my new truck had them.

Out. I live in Minnesota. We get all the kinds of weather. Sometimes in the same week. And seriously I never have to worry about the control of my

hey stay away from the Cooper's discovery xt3 I have the ones on my 1-ton Ram. paid over $300 a tire. trying to get them balance. Purchase them off a tire rack I sent two of them back I couldn't get them balance the tread is so aggressive that you will have a balance issue. If I can do it all over the hankook is the one that I probably would buy. the Cooper discoveries are real quiet smooth tired I love them good in the rain good in the snow the only downfall is that I cannot get them balance true still have a little shake took it to three different tire shops I spent over $200 trying to get these tires balance. I just gave up on them and just going to run them. I will wait till they break in and probably try to rebalance the set again I will keep you updated. FYI reason why I'm going to stay with the Cooper is because of the tire tread depth. They work well for towing my toy hauler I think I can get 60,000 mile out of these tires for a trade-off for a little bit of shake it's okay.

I have 285/65r20 ko2s on my Ram Cummins, and they have been horrible. By far the worst wearing tire I've ever had. They cost $480 per tire at discount tire I know this because I had one blow out while towing a smaller trailer on a shale road. The tires have been rotated religiously and they have cupped and worn out in under 21,000 miles. Never again will I buy ko2s. For me Toyos have been great I will be getting them next. Ko2s suck in the snow and wet roads for that matter. Most overrated tire imo
