As an Aussie I had no idea to what extent the perceived view is of us having the deadly animals and insects, until I started watching RUclips. It’s definitely way over the top and it probably genuinely puts people off visiting.
For sure, I’ve seen a some brown snakes cruising in summer but that’s only due to being in a country town surrounded by the bush, they don’t stick around for long when anyone walks past cause they don’t willingly go near people.
I always tell Americans that say Australia got crazy animals ‘at least we don’t have bears’ I could not imagine something scarier then knowing bears live in your area 😂
I'm over 70, born and raised down under; so far l have come across 1 snake in the wild, most spiders I've seen are smaller innocuous ones. Seen a lot of kangaroos, koalas, emus in the wild; but never had a problem with any of them. As the majority of the population live in larger cities close to the coast, the amount of times people interact with dangerous or poisonous creatures is very minimal even miniscule; of the rest of the population that lives in the rest of the land, interactions are rare due tothe sparse spread of the population in the outback or the bush.
The things missing from this video as it was quite brief... -A bit about the cities and states, tourist spots and buildings - Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, Alice Springs, Hobart -Our national sport AFL (Australian rules football) and cricket (which is played internationally), -Hardly any reference to our unique wildlife and plants - kangaroos, cockatoos, bilby, echidna, platypus, wombats, koalas, frilled lizard, eucalyptus, banksia, kangaroo paw etc that could take videos. -A bit about our politics Edit: As of today 22/05 our current Labor government and prime minister Anthony Albanese -The great barrier reef, the largest living organism on Earth -Ayers rock/Uluru - a sacred aboriginal site -Exports and mining (such as coal, uranium, iron ore and other natural resources) and farming, -Foods (like our meat pie and a couple of other things), -Australia day, Anzac day and other important days, -Some historical figures like Ned Kelly, Harold Holt, C.Y O'Connor -Our music and famous people - ACDC, Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie, Heath Ledger, The Living End, Midnight Oil, Mel Gibson and more. And a couple of other things.
Realise most dangerous animals clip are clickbait material. Unfortunately narrated by your country folk and have most likely never visited Australia so don’t have an accurate opinion. Basically they don’t care and it’s generally done to scare people. The important aspect is to talk to locals when visiting and obey warning signs particularly in the tropical north where crocs inhabit waterways. Most likely way you won’t go home. To my knowledge there hasn’t been a death due to a spider bite for decades. Snakes are fine. Just don’t go near them and remain calm if you do. Walk away slowly as to not startle them. If they sense danger they could attack. You are very unlikely to see one like many of the other potentially dangerous creatures.
I've come to be very fond of your reactions, girls, but, you must know, Australians do not see a lot more sharks, spiders, snakes or crocodiles than most people who live in temperate areas. If you see a creepy crawly spider, it's always re-assuring to know that it's not venomous. The most scared my mother was via our wildlife was when she found a kangaroo had jumped through my sister's old bedroom window, and it bounced around the bedroom like a jumping jack. I would have been angry if it desecrated my bedroom, but that would have been affected.
I’m an Aussie and it makes me laugh how overseas people think we are overrun by snakes and spiders. My wife and are keen bushwalkers and we think nothing of doing 5 or 6 day hikes where there are no tracks or roads….we just use our GPS. There are NO animals that would hunt us or eat us. I have never heard of a snake trying to rip a tent apart to get at its occupants. We would never do what we do in Australia in the US! You have bears, mountain lions that will rip you apart as soon as look at you. No thanks!
You do realise that about 90% of Australians will never see anything poisonous animals - I'm born and bread and have never seen anything in wild, just in zoo's
The spiders here are harmless when they don't bite and snakes will never bite you unless they bute you so you don't have to worry about worrying about them unless they bite you. But they'll only bite if they bite you. That's not all the time either, sometimes they're not biting you.
Somehow I there’s a language barrier here. What he’s trying to state is if you see a snake don’t try to go near it. Ie attack it. Best to go on walking trails in the bush and if you see a snake, don’t panic!! Don’t scream as you’ll startle the snake and it could attack you. Move slowly away and keep calm. Realise snakes are everywhere but are cold blooded creatures. Half of Australia’s population is in the south where it’s cool to cold for up to 6 months. Snakes will come out of hibernation in September generally and hibernate in cooler weather in May (late autumn/fall) through August (late winter).
Glad to hear our spiders are only slightly scary 😆😆 Next Australia video should be: I Still Call Australia Home - Qantas; gives a closer look at our landscape. Link: ruclips.net/video/-niyYHexMTo/видео.html G'day from Melbourne, Victoria.

The snakes and spiders is a bit overdone. We've only got a couple of species of spiders that can kill people . As for snakes , We've got 20 + of the deadliest 25 species , with Taipans (3 species ) and Brown snakes (9 species ) rating amongst the deadliest on the planet . Good news is if you tread heavily and make a little noise most snakes will get out of your way without you seeing them .

It's surprising that there are Americans who are interested in the world.

Our population is now 25 million, we have so many beaches it would take you about 30years to visit a new beach every day.
according to the abs population clock we're over 27 million people.

@@LesGray-i9p Exactly, a snake will never bite you when it's not biting you. Just don't get bit and you won't get bitten. Simple.
