What a lot of people don’t understand about perfectionists is that we aren’t concerned with other people being perfect - we are only concerned with our own goal of reaching perfection
jme perfectionists sound ridiculous to me. Like, what have you done that’s PERFECT, ya know I understand that you’re trying to do everything as best as you can, and I think that’s great. The whole idea of perfection sounds ridiculous cuz nothing’s ever perfect. Not saying this with any malicious intent, just wanted to share opinions and discuss
Daumantė Stepanovaitė I totally get where you’re coming from. I understand fully that perfection does not exist. Unfortunately that doesn’t stop this constant need in my head to do everything as perfectly as possible and not be able to rest or satisfied until I’m satisfied, and even then I find things I could improve upon. If I were not a perfectionist, I would feel exactly the way you do, because the idea of it is ludicrous. Thanks for wanting to talk it out!
@mikaelea: Yeah, no joke. I myself suffered through a brief period of heightened anxiety and depression. This was a few years ago.Today, it is more of depression, but mildly, and no heightened anxiety. Mental Illness is a serious issue in this country. We need more mental health counselors, mental health social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists. The more mental health professionals there are in this country, the more "we can bud mental health in the mouth." But we also need to change from a culture of tough-minded individualism, and "keeping your struggles inside" to a culture like Latin America or Western Europe has currently. Those models and cultures in those regions are what America needs to adopt more of.
She just needs to stay on the right meds that take away the hollow stifling feeling of depression and off the drugs that give the super temporary feel-good. She has no other choice and way too much money. That's a problem..... Albeit sad.
So many people hated on her and made jokes about her overdose. People say she shouldn't do the superbowl and that she was the last choice. And some just don't really know if they can belive her or if she's a role model. To those people, I'd say watch this interview. She isn't a bad person, she is sober, and she is so deserving of all of the opportunities that she gets as a talented artist!
HI bob I do agree with you people don’t know if they can believe an addict but she’s sober and clean she’s a huge mental health activist and she’s anti bullying too she stands up for so many good causes and she is amazing and talented
Fuck everyone else. Unless they have been in the throws of addiction and mental health they have no room to say a word. Go deal with your own shit and leave people who are at a different level In life than you. Not talking to the person who wrote this post but the people you were referring to.

Zane Lowe is probably my favourite interviewer ever. His empathy, how well spoken he is, how intelligent, deep and thoughtful his questions are and how he puts artists at ease and makes them feel understood and comfortable. Bravo.
absolutely! He always asks the questions that people want to know the answer to without being disrespectful/invasive of the person he's interviewing. You are so incredible and beautiful and I can't imagine how hard it must be to be famous and under public scrutiny all the time. I am so glad you have people like your family that make you happy, you deserve nothing less than to be happy and to feel comfortable with who you are. We are all so so excited for this Sunday. 1. I already loved Demi before watching this interview. Now, I respect THE HELL out of here. She is truly a powerhouse artist that's honestly starting to fully come into her own. I can't wait to see her journey unfold. 2. The interviewer, Zane Lowe, is truly a class act. His mindfulness, that allows the level of comfort seen in many of his interviews, is so refreshing to see. You can tell he truly cares about his craft and has a heart for the person he interviews, not the fame attached to them. I enjoyed this. Forreal.
I love how calm and in tune with herself she is. I especially love how she's taking both good and bad times as learning experiences. I'm so proud of her growth. Can't wait to see her perform.
im blown away by this interview - he was so respectful, empathetic, understanding of her boundaries, and so personable with such a calming, safe presence. he treated her not like a celebrity, but as a human being. its so few and far between to see that now a days. will def be back to watch more interviews conducted by this guy. finally someone doing it right
She’s so strong and she’s helped so many people whenever she shared her struggles. She is the most honest celebrity out there, she’s not afraid of committing mistakes, being imperfect and being human in general. I love this woman so much.
I can see the sadness in her eyes, she only makes direct eye contact when she says she wants to start a family which seems to be her absolute truth. I wish peace for her. I hope she has genuinely good people around her. 💜
There is something really comforting, as well as inspiring about Demi’s journey. She is all of us, and isn’t afraid to let others know that she is real. ❤️🙌🏼
I don't really listen to most of her music but Demi is so talented and she has such a beautiful voice and she's always seemed really genuine and down to earth. I'm happy she seems to be in a better place now and I really hope she'll be strong enough to overcome the pains of her past. Can't wait to see her performance at the Grammy's.
LOVE that you didn’t push her when she said she wasn’t ready to talk about that night. Absolutely LOVE that. So much respect. Literally subscribing for that single reason.
She is beyond comprehension. What a brave lady. I'm proud to have her as a role model. She's such an inspiration, I love how flawed and human she is. Perfectly imperfect. Thank you Demi, for using your voice to help others.
This interviewer was so empathetic and considerate and I love interviews like this.. I feel so much more comfortable when you can tell the person asking the questions actually care.. also Demi is so strong and inspirational!!
when she talked about going to church, God, not fitting in at church, I had tears go down my face. i felt the same way she did about not fitting in at church. when I lived in Toledo, Ohio, I would go to Cedar Creek Church every sunday and i felt comfortable and I connected with God. to this day, I miss going to Cedar Creek Church.
this guy is an amazing interviewer..he's genuinely invested in the conversation. he has actual thoughts and opinions and he's creating dialogue. love this guy
So many of us struggle with depression and mental illness. She's struggled in the spot light, and has come back from it. She is so strong, intelligent, talented and inspiring to many. I hope she continues to find her purpose and acknowledge her worth. Seems like she already has a lot figured out on life and understanding of herself and her happiness.
The older Demi gets, the stranger - yet cooler - it gets that we've gone through **so many** of the same struggles and fights and heart aches. When I was a teenager and she was going through struggles with self-harm and depression, it helped me build the strength to cope in more healthy ways by seeing that I wasn't alone and admiring someone to gorgeous/successful/talented who also happened to have demons to fight. As I got older and was more able to accept my Bipolar diagnosis, it was cool to see one of my favorite artists going through the same thing. All of a sudden, I felt less "crazy" by knowing that it can happen in anyone's life. Then codependent relationships, peer pressure that leads to drug use, letting that drug use consume your life, getting treatment, falling off the wagon, getting back on track, finding and losing and finding faith... I know it's stupid, and thousands of other girls must say it, but it feels like we would be like soul sisters. She and I have more shared experiences than my husband and I...
Never seen anything from this interviewer but love his understanding and kindness talking about this with her and can’t believe no one thought to ask her if she was okay when recording this breaks my heart. Love you Demi ❤️
This interview warmed my soul. The serenity in that conversation touched my heart. Also, the interviewer was completely incredible in addressing her with such difficult questions in such an empathetic and profound way. 👏 can't wait 👏 until 👏 the 👏 Grammys 👏
I’ve got so much respect for her. The honestly. Just laying it all out on the table. Letting us all know that even her life isn’t “Disney perfect”. Life is messy and we’re all just trying our best.
May Demi continue the journey of re-connecting with her faith so it can help to heal her inner child. Demi is a strong beautiful woman and as she continues to ask for help she will gain the tools she needs to help her heal herself......Building a strong foundation in her sobriety will help her to move forward so she can find that Serenity we all search for....May she Always Walk In Beauty......Keep moving forward Demi, ready set go.... .......Much Respect and Love from the Navajo Nation.....💖😇
Being a Lovatic for so many years makes me even more proud of you Demi. You are the most amazing person I know and you deserve the best. I'm so excited about the future and I know you're gonna do great things.
I felt like doing some writing after I heard this^ So here it is below for anyone who's interested. I thought it was interesting and it felt good to think about and process with my mind and body. A lot of the good things we do are hidden under the surfaces, in places some people can't see with their own eyes. But the beneficial impact of those hidden good deeds, that you have knowingly or unknowingly done, have taken effect. And the whole world is a better place now because of it. Even if you can't see the positive impacts now, it doesn't mean they won't occur later, some time in the future. Every action has a consequence, positive or negative. Sometimes something negative is what's needed to lead to something positive that's better than the positive that was taking place before. Improvement. Advancement. Life is often times a learning experience to improve ourselves and to advance our existing way of being into the future, in this now moment. Because everything is now. We're all like growing flowers.
Ok this guy is TRULY an amazing interviewer. The way he engages with Demi is of respect but also genuine. He really cares and is respectful of Demi. He KNOWS. And he’s HOT. 😋😋 Demi my Queen i am so happy your back and that you are in such a better place mentally and spiritually. I CANNOT wait for your album to drop. Missed you soooooo much.😘😘
Absolutely beautiful. What she is sharing with world through her experience is so incredibly brave and such a blessing. God is good. Praying that she continues to grow stronger and more at peace with her life, her career, and her spiritual journey.
I'll be praying for Demi from now on that God will draw her closer to him everyday and that she will lead other people to his love and fulfill her purpose. ❤️❤️
I literally cried when she played this on the grammies, still makes me shiver to listen to it. So much emotion in that voice. Glad she is getting better.
Im so glad Demi felt so comfortable with Zane during this interview. He was very respectful and very kind. Its very rare you see Demi with a bad interview. She knows who she is going to talk to and how they will go about the interview. Shell never let a bad interview slide. Love you Demi! So proud of you!
This man is such a respectful interviewer. This was beautiful and compelling. Thank you Demi for sharing your sense of hopelessness in a way that gives hope to so many.
"Well you asked for this life" . I love what she says about the age she started and how nobody really consented to all of what potentially had to come. I think she speaks the truth of what being a celebrity is like. She really gets it and I guess we need to hear that and take that into consideration with the way we act around her, and other people. She raises a good point!
When she nearly died a couple of years ago I thought that she would never come back from that, because I think that she was crying out for help back then and she could have been another singer that died way to soon. Im happy to see her back in this way and it surprises me how mature she is in this interview. She seems like she has learned a lot from that situation and that she´s so confident with herself. The fact that she has found her faith and that she´s feeling so relaxed again is so comforting. I think that she is coming back stronger than ever and she´s a true inspiration from were she was a couple of years ago and were she is right now. I have so much hope for her future and I´m happy to see her getting back into the music industry. We need to hear this woman`s powerful voice again. :)
“It’s gonna take a long time till I’m fully ready to talk about what happened that night” and here we are, she’s ready and dancing with the devil and the art of starting over is coming. We are so proud of you, Demi.

Can't wait to see her perform.
im blown away by this interview - he was so respectful, empathetic, understanding of her boundaries, and so personable with such a calming, safe presence. he treated her not like a celebrity, but as a human being. its so few and far between to see that now a days. will def be back to watch more interviews conducted by this guy. finally someone doing it right
The interview was so soft, she was feeling so comfortable 😍
9:12 “I was choir President”
🥰🥰🥰🥰 MY BOO IS SO ADORABLE
Off topic but the way she was sitting, my leg would sleep in a second. How does she do that?????!!!!
Lovatic Here I thought the same thing 😂
jiu jitsu momma right there
Flexible queen
I sit like that all the time
She is a warrior.🖤
She’s so strong and she’s helped so many people whenever she shared her struggles. She is the most honest celebrity out there, she’s not afraid of committing mistakes, being imperfect and being human in general. I love this woman so much.
He spoiled some lyrics and now I'm even more excited. You can see he was blown away from the song. Lucky guy. Sunday, come soon ❤️
The interviewer is great. He understood her before she even spoke.
Lisa Su Ok. So who do you listen to ?
LOVE that you didn’t push her when she said she wasn’t ready to talk about that night. Absolutely LOVE that. So much respect. Literally subscribing for that single reason.
When Demi started talking about God I cried... We have been praying so hard for her to reconnect.
Amen
Wow @kira Peterson.. God bless your good works🙏🙏👍❤️❤️
I pray she continues to seek God ...so awesome she is seeking Him!! Come as you are is God's motto He is waiting with open arms.
She is beyond comprehension. What a brave lady. I'm proud to have her as a role model. She's such an inspiration, I love how flawed and human she is. Perfectly imperfect. Thank you Demi, for using your voice to help others.
My queen is back and she’s stronger than ever
This interviewer was so empathetic and considerate and I love interviews like this.. I feel so much more comfortable when you can tell the person asking the questions actually care.. also Demi is so strong and inspirational!!
when she talked about going to church, God, not fitting in at church, I had tears go down my face. i felt the same way she did about not fitting in at church. when I lived in Toledo, Ohio, I would go to Cedar Creek Church every sunday and i felt comfortable and I connected with God. to this day, I miss going to Cedar Creek Church.
6:27 😂 every Lovatic knows when she is nervous she always does that with her fingers. She is soooo adorable arghhhh 💗
this guy is an amazing interviewer..he's genuinely invested in the conversation. he has actual thoughts and opinions and he's creating dialogue. love this guy
Who's here after that incredible & emotional performance at the Grammys 2020..🥺🤧
ME!
Zane Lowe, best interviewer in the world for many years, he's in a league of his own! The respect he shows Demi is beautiful.
i can't wait for the performance, I'm sure I'll cry. her strength and the way she overcame all these difficulties, it's unreal. she's unreal.
Never seen anything from this interviewer but love his understanding and kindness talking about this with her and can’t believe no one thought to ask her if she was okay when recording this breaks my heart. Love you Demi ❤️

This was a wonderful interview. I’ll forever be proud of Demi and her resilience ❤️
I've watched my mom struggle thru addiction. She still struggles. It's such a completely debilitating disease. It's so amazing to see Demi thriving!
Jen Rogers hope your mum is ok 😍
Jen Rogers it's a choice not disease but okay boomer
@@DiamanteDea hahaha I'm 33. Def not a boomer. And you obviously know nothing about addiction.
He came prepared and I appreciate that.
This interview warmed my soul. The serenity in that conversation touched my heart. Also, the interviewer was completely incredible in addressing her with such difficult questions in such an empathetic and profound way. 👏 can't wait 👏 until 👏 the 👏 Grammys 👏
she's overcome so much i'm so proud of her..
I’ve got so much respect for her. The honestly. Just laying it all out on the table. Letting us all know that even her life isn’t “Disney perfect”. Life is messy and we’re all just trying our best.
Demi Lovato is an inspiration.
Periodt.
She is so UNDERRATED
2020 is gonna be her year!✨

Being a Lovatic for so many years makes me even more proud of you Demi. You are the most amazing person I know and you deserve the best. I'm so excited about the future and I know you're gonna do great things.
BEST INTERVIEWER EVER ! So genuine and compassionate yet forthcoming 👏🏼
12:56 "Your self worth doesn't come from the reaction of an audience."
I felt like doing some writing after I heard this^
So here it is below for anyone who's interested. I thought it was interesting and it felt good to think about and process with my mind and body.
A lot of the good things we do are hidden under the surfaces, in
places some people can't see with their own eyes. But the beneficial
impact of those hidden good deeds, that you have knowingly or
unknowingly done, have taken effect. And the whole world is a better
place now because of it.
Even if you can't see the positive impacts now, it doesn't mean they
won't occur later, some time in the future.
Every action has a consequence, positive or negative. Sometimes
something negative is what's needed to lead to something positive
that's better than the positive that was taking place before.
Improvement. Advancement. Life is often times a learning experience to
improve ourselves and to advance our existing way of being into the
future, in this now moment. Because everything is now. We're all like
growing flowers.
I'm so proud of her and oh my god I missed her so much. So glad she's back 💗
Ok this guy is TRULY an amazing interviewer. Missed you soooooo much.😘😘
DEMIi,You are awesome! Godspeed 🙏
Absolutely beautiful. What she is sharing with world through her experience is so incredibly brave and such a blessing. God is good. Praying that she continues to grow stronger and more at peace with her life, her career, and her spiritual journey.
she means the world to me. she’s overcome so much i couldn’t be more proud!
Love her more than words could ever say, and am so proud of her, her strength is incredible. I can't wait to hear Anyone
Im so glad Demi felt so comfortable with Zane during this interview. He was very respectful and very kind. Its very rare you see Demi with a bad interview. She knows who she is going to talk to and how they will go about the interview. Shell never let a bad interview slide. Love you Demi! So proud of you!
He is one of the best interviewers i have ever heard.
This man is such a respectful interviewer. This was beautiful and compelling. Thank you Demi for sharing your sense of hopelessness in a way that gives hope to so many.
I love her she's gorgeous and i'm so excited for her new song
"Well you asked for this life" . I love what she says about the age she started and how nobody really consented to all of what potentially had to come. I think she speaks the truth of what being a celebrity is like. She really gets it and I guess we need to hear that and take that into consideration with the way we act around her, and other people. She raises a good point!
I’m so proud of this woman. I want nothing but happiness, growth, and success for her, she deserves nothing less
I'm crying right now, although only in the second minute. I am so proud of her. She never ceases to inspire me. Everyday.
“It’s gonna take a long time till I’m fully ready to talk about what happened that night” and here we are, she’s ready and dancing with the devil and the art of starting over is coming. We are so proud of you, Demi.
THANK YOU OMG SHES SO BEAUTIFUL IM SO PROUD OF HER😭😭🥰🥰😍😍
