Heart covered "Stairway to Heaven" in front of Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center Honors. The drummer was Jason Bonham, son of John. Absolutely stunning performance.
1st Album I ever bought in 1975, 12 years old! HE❤RT was inspired by LED ZEPPELIN, Ann Wilson's singing is the female version of Robert Plant's vocals.
Love watching the 2 generations jam out together! Silas, you know dad and uncle would never steer you wrong!😉BTW,Silas, you MUST listen to HEART do Stairway to Heaven Live at the awards ceremony to honor Led Zeppelin, they totally SLAY!🎸🎙🎶🤘
What a fun reaction. And your uncle is a funny dude. And I'm glad you played the intro part as well. It sets the mood perfectly. Once I got the album and heard it whenever I wanted to, then I didn't figure it out exactly but I got a pretty good approximation of that on acoustic guitar, which I was just starting to really get into. It was during Junior high.
Dear Silas, I am your subscriber from Toronto 55 years old found you last year. You are the embodiment of me! You brought me so much joy watching you discover the songs I love that’s exactly how I express myself physically. If either of those two men, your uncle, or your father are single, I must meet them I am started dating and none of the men I want to talk with have any true passion for classic rock they are passionless your family. These men we will be talking for hours and singing and the fire will rage🔥🔥🔥😁
They were one of the bands playing at my first concert; was 1978 - Cal Jam 2. I was 15yrs9mos, was there for more than 26 hours, my older brother got lost around noon...just before Santana played, and I hitch-hiked home (after Aerosmith) from the speedway to San Berdoo. I was hollering "anyone going to Berdoo?" and someone said "come on, we are." They lived just a few blocks from me.
I just love the dad, son, and uncle combo first of all!! This is one my favorite songs by Heart! I'm 62 and grew up with them. Love so many songs they sing but this is a banger as they say! I love your channel and will keep watching. God bless you!
HEYYYYY!😊SO YOU HAVE DAD AND UNCLE THERE WITH YOU SILAS, COOL! 👍 SO THIS COMES OFF OF THEIR DEBUT ALBUM ( DREAMBOAT ANNIE ) AND THE OTHER HUGE HIT WHICH IS FYYYRRR IS : MAGIC MAN 😊 ENJOY THESE GUYS, THE WILSONS & THE FISHERS
Heart re-invented themselves a couple of different times, but this is their iconic best form. Ann singing and Nancy on acoustic guitar was so great that unfortunately overshadowed the rest of the band that were amazing themselves. This song along with "Barracuda" and "Magic Man" are one of the greatest song trilogies ever made.
There is only one Annie Wilson in rock music, just like there's only one Karen Carpenter on the softer side of popular music. Two of the greatest voices ever in music. ❤❤❤❤
Saw them in Seattle, their hometown, in the early 80's I believe. Amazing show! And it was a long show too - I think for the home crowd they played a few extras they didn't normally do. And an encore of Led Zeppelin covers to top it off. So much fun!
Nancy Wilson calls the intro "Silver Wheels". It is very difficult to play clearly, in fact Rick Beato wouldn't play this on his "20 greatest acoustic guitar intros" video (and he's good).
The difference in the last two generations is that we now have the ability to listen to only the songs we want to, and ignore radio altogether. That wasn't the case in the past. Even I, as a 49y/o, play only songs I've purchased, largely because I don't care for very much that came out after 2010.
That's wild that you were born in 1975. I was 11 when Dreamboat Annie album dropped. I thought it was the shit! It was recorded in Vancouver, so it counted as Canadian Content, so it was played on the radio all the time.
What a great song but you have to listen to the song sing child sing on that album amazing he plays the flute and her singing is phenomenal the best female rock singer of all time
If you like the opening of this (and who doesn't!) then listen to "The Clap" from The Yes Album and "Penny For Your Thoughts" from Frampton Comes Alive!
Is it Steven from Montreal I saw them three times in the seventies and 80s and I would like to hear some Deep Purple if you can check out space Truckin 1975 New York
Damn! Here I was hoping your 'elders' here would perhaps recommend Dire Straits 1st Album to you (1978). But here I was as a 19-year-old and your Dad just out of diapers (we hope... 😏). That's not going to help my case much. So, you'll need your air-guitar, your headphones and a discerning ear for some of the best guitar mastery and song writing I think you'll hear. And drag your Dad & Uncle along for the experience. 😶🌫😏 Oh, if you'd do my favorite off that album ('Wild West End') at a minimum... I'll be watching! This is their album version (studio)… preferred. ruclips.net/video/T4Ad_J_2l0w/видео.htmlsi=EcCbUW4XNzO9ZjEQ
@@scottdebruyn7038 Can’t say I love that song out of all their collection, but it would be interesting for him as beginning guitarist. Definitely some good guitar work in WWE. Although some of it borders on a country sound, which I personally don’t care for. I’d be for him trying it--I like him getting exposure to a wide range of music.
@@mattbailey9396 Can I suggest a WWE guitar tutorial by a Brit that will give you an idea of why I love it? And the lyrics hold a special meaning for me too... a long gone best friend where I went many times 'Walking in the Wild West End' (with my Wild Best Friend). 😏 ruclips.net/video/nVZDLdhu_Bs/видео.htmlsi=dAQym5pRCTcevYUR
Silas...I want pay to you to react one song... ¿It is possible? ¿ How can I do? Is for Sultans of swing Dire Straits...live Alchemy--- How it made the pathreon?
Nancy's guitar work at the beginning is impeccable, and as always Ann's vocals are the best.
If you get a chance, watch a vintage live performance of this song. Nancy Wilson does an expanded version of the acoustic opening that's total fire.
I remember seeing a performance where she crouched at the end of the intro, and high-kicked into the drop. One of my favorite rock moments.
Heart covered "Stairway to Heaven" in front of Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center Honors. The drummer was Jason Bonham, son of John. Absolutely stunning performance.
With a surprise backing choir. Anne & Nancy started out doing Zep covers in bars.
As many times as I've heard this, I still get chills when she belts out the refrain!
1st Album I ever bought in 1975, 12 years old! HE❤RT was inspired by LED ZEPPELIN, Ann Wilson's singing is the female version of Robert Plant's vocals.
You can't go wrong with Heart. Anne Wilson has as good a voice as you will hear in Rock.
I saw Heart in concert a few years ago, and she can still jam on the guitar, while jumping in the air
I go crazy for Heart. And I adore Nancy's giutar and voice as well!!!!
Guitar... God bless these shaky fingers.
I saw them open for Boston when their first lp dropped. What a fantastic show. The Wilson sisters are a national treasure.
I hadn’t realized how cool the lyrics were before. Love everything about this song!
I'm just old enough to have an appreciation for the great music/musicians of that time. And Heart is one of them.
Great reaction. Interesting hearing how your dad and uncle got turned on to Hard Rock
👌
that BRIDGE IS PURE HEARTFELT EUPHORIA!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on 20 K subscribers, dude.
Love your channel. Keep on r'actin .
This was my generation, and it was -- and IS -- the best.
I saw Heart in Pittsburgh in 1978. Walter Egan "Magnet and Steel" opened for them.
I was about your age young man when i saw them in concert 46 years ago. This song was a big hit that night.

I feel sorry for the current generation if they have never listened to classic rock. They are missing out on so much amazing music.
👍
My first concert. At Hulman Center in Terre Haute with an up-and-comer for the opening act named Johnny Cougar! Btw love the hat!!!
Darn right! 💥
By the way keep up the good work love watching your reactions you make me smile all the time

I remember buying this album back in 73/74. The whole album is great!
Awesome video Silas, and family, I really enjoyed that.
This is probably my favorite song from Heart
I like Dreamboat Annie

True! 👍
I SAW HEART BACK IN 78 AT CAL JAM II THEY ROCKED!!!!
I really enjoy watching your reactions, keep it up!
Saw them in concert when they first started they were on Fire
This was definitely my era and I brought my three millennial kids up on this music.

Agree and Seattle and Wilson actually cut my hair into party. One night they lived in bellevue
My favorite Heart tune!

You three are hilarious.
Do more Heart, they're awesome.
Superb! 😎
👌💥
Please listen to Heart's rendition of Stairway to Heaven. And also several of Led Zep's song (Battle of Evermore).
Heart's Battle of Evermore.
Hey Silas, I’m seeing 20k here… I guess you’ll celebrate next video?? LOL
I will yes! I recorded this a little while ago before I had hit it haha
