When you feel comfort when the battles are most intense, i felt that zy! Good video🎉 I aim train alot and with smaller mice my scores are way higher BUT, ingame i tend to go get way faster shaky aim and much more inconsistent. Especially when there are hectic battles. My grip is all over the place and same goes for my aim. So my conclusion is try every mouse you have! The best aim trainer scoring mouse doesn't have to be the best ingame performing mouse
You might want to make sure your settings in-game are right too. cm/360 being the same is important for things to translate between games or aim training and a game.
I took the challange, went from a Logi G Pro Superlight to a Gwolves HSK 4K Pro. My aiming has further increased and surprisingly my sensitivity went up slightly. I think it's related to the extra fingertip control gained.
dpi is different between 2 mouse (sensor height and other factors), so putting dpi from one mouse to another will have different cm/360, so you would use a different ingame sens. I went from razer viper to hsk and i decreased sens from 27cm to 35cm because the hsk just moves so fast on its own because its so light.
I went from superlight to gwolves htx 4k my sens went up slightly, only because gwolves software doesn’t do 750 dpi so i went to 800 my aiming ability also increased significantly
The more I become invested in this topic, the more it seems that different mice are suited for different purposes, even within the same user. For instance, a larger, heavier, ergonomic mouse with a palm style grip is incredibly comfortable personally for everyday use. In contrast, a lighter more nippy mouse held in a claw/fingertip style, even specialising further for different sub-genres of games may yield more consistant results. I know what specifications the former should be, but the latter is yet to be fully realised.
Larger heavier mouse being more comfortable and ergonomic is just a myth Lighter mice are better at everything including everyday use It was the very first thing i noticed once i shifted to lighter mice. And lighter doesn't have to mean smaller : viper v2 pro and gpxs are both full sized mice that are also very light
I did the challenge a bit ago and went from my zowie ec1 to a finalmouse starlight 12 and it changed my aim completely, I’ve tried going to different mice like the pulsar X2 but the weight and the freedom that comes with it makes it so hard to not use my finalmouse these days!
I missed this whole thing, but I have huge hands (~ 21,5x12 cm) and used to always try to find a mouse that fits my hand size. I bought and sold some Logitechs, Razers and other mice over the years. At the beginning of this year my Model O was just annoying me because I felt super inconsistent with it since the day I had bought it, so I decided to change it out again. After some research and analysis of my grip I decided to go for a small mouse. I ended up buying a Pulsar X2 mini and I have never felt this good with my aim.
Already using the Xtrfy m42 wired with small backplate for over 6 months now, thanks to this channel. No cramps, significantly better aim in PUBG after a few days of playing. I bought a backup in a sale, just in case. Viper mini felt good, but I really disliked the mousewheel so sold it. Also sold the light Corsair I tested. M42 mousewheel is just perfect imho. I have the Xtrfy MZ-1 aswell out of curiosity, but preffer the M42 for my hand shape, MZ-1 is a bit too flat for my taste but the good simularities with the M42 are obvious.
Very well said brother. Ha been using the X2 mini BL for about a month. Time to pull my MZ1 back out. I really am more accurate with the MZ1. At 17.78cm x 10cm hands it really is perfect.
I went from razer viper ultimate to the g305 and I genuinely fell in love with it, I've been hitting some pretty crazy shots with it. although I will definitely give the viper mini a try once they release a wireless version.
although f0rest was known for using ec2-a and GPW/GPX in most of his csgo career, he actually used the small steelseries kinzu and kinzu v2 through all his cs 1.6 era and early csgo time until 2015/2016. So I think he might also enjoy the m42 with the low back hump
Just recently went from a logitech g pro superlight to a pulsar x2 mini (frankp edition). Always wanted to try smaller and logitech allways felt a little big and I'm a couple weeks in and can definitely say I can see an improvement in aim consistency. I did cramp a bit for the first 8 hours worth of playtime as it's quite a drop in size but now I'm used to it and can't imagine going back to the g pro.
@Blessed definately. Funnily enough I think the superlight weighs only 2 grams more than my x2 mini but the shape makes it feel much light plus I was pretty impressed with the build quality of the x2 mini at its price point. Feels like a really premium mouse for its price.
@WayStedYou have you seen the pulsar x2 series mouses? The normal x2 is ever so slightly smaller than the g pro and may be a good option. The x2 mini is a decent drops in size though. Pulsar makes a lot of cool limited edition models and normal retail price that are molded slightly different with other colourways and switches so when the next cool looking one comes out I'll get a x2 to try the size in-between. Would recommend though
same for me, comes from gpro superlight for years cramped my hand when trying x2 mini but now maining it and my aim never getting better. one improvement for x2 will be higher hump and will come out soon in newest version
My recent mice starting from: Gpx,Viper,Dav3 were all uncomfortable but the dav3 was a decent fit just a little too big and had shit coating. so i eventually landed on the new wireless Ec2-CW. Shape is king and that mouse is my end game for sure, Good weight, best shape imo, good tech, godlike coating which all these previous mice lacked. All around a great balanced mouse in all areas.
I moved from Glorious Model O- to Xtrfy MZ1 (wired, as cable was never an issue to me). Here's my experience: In the first week, I committed to use it as designed - same holding style as yours, which fits perfect. However, after a week of trying, I couldn't adjust - aim was keep getting worse, turning right side inaccurate, vertical aim not smooth either, especially pulling the mouse down could lift it up from front. I started considering returning it within 14 days window, but decided to try my grip style for the second week. I use mixed grip style, but for FPS games I found myself using claw grip. Not only that, but I keep 3 fingers on top of the mouse: middle finger between scroll wheel and that extra button, thumb and pinky finger holding sides and touching the pad. Holes on the sides, despite not being designed to be touched, help with grip. I decided to keep the mouse. I like it overall and subjectively aim better just a little. Is it perfect for me though? No, because it was designed for other style. And yes, wrist felt weird for first days. Build quality felt way better, but after few days the mouse started to creak when gently squishing it with just outer fingers. Also I stumbled upon scenario where holding the "F11" button and scroll wheel would change RGB LED settings, despite the mouse was running in F11 mode.
Tried this one and it was just far too small. Ninja must have tiny hands ! Also keep your warranty handy. Hopefully yours will be fine. The Xtrfy MZ1 has a really bad design for the cable. It is pinched then it takes a 90 degree turn. If you experience "USB device not found" or your computer is making the sound for a USB device been unplugged/plugged in its time to return it. Disappointing mouse with such an obvious design flaw. Mine went back yesterday.
Went from using the Glorious Model O, and have been trying the M42 and the Cooler Master MM710, and contrary to what you have been saying, I felt I could aim better with the wider MM710. I wanted to see how the thinner grip width would affect my game, but i just couldnt get quite used to it, my hand wasnt cramping, but itjust felt slightly too narrow. The MM710 immediately felt perfect in my hand as soon as i gripped it, and I just feel Cooler Master landed on the perfect shape for me.
I tried lots of gaming mice. Once i hit MM720 - it was end game for me despite that it was bashed by RJN so much. I learned to never listen what payed youtubers are saying and try things myself.
@@xbr123 Except for the fact that RJN praised almost everything about the mouse, since he loved the original Master Mouse. dont know where you are getting the whole "despite that it was bashed by RJN so much". You also have no proof he was paid to say anything in his MM710 review.
I pretty recently went from a Razer Viper and a G203 (couldn't decide between the two lmao) to a Cooler Master MM720. I realized that I like short mice more and because I also really like having two of my fingers as a support on the right click (on normal mice), that extra resting area on the right of the MM720 feels natural to me. And I have been noticing my aim getting more consistent in games. I might also get a MZ1 or equivalent to see how I would aim with an even smaller mouse, but so far I feel like I have made a very good decision with my MM720.
The MM720 could actually be the best mouse for a lot of people who wouldn't think to try it because it's so different to everything else. It's basically a small mouse but lets you use both your ring finger and pinky ergonomically together for control. I also think there's something to a wider base for stability and consistent feel to the glide.
I've been using the Lamzu Atlantis Mini after having used the GPX for years. The Lamzu feels sooo much better. Especially in CSGO. I feel that I can AWP so much easier. Just hitting shots in general feels better.
I remember listening to you years ago about smaller mice. Used Model O minus for about 2 months before selling it on Ebay. Absolutely miserable experience. I love my Model D now and will never go that small again.
Yeah the whole "Use a small mouse" is horribly misguided, and if you actually look at top aimers they use relatively big mice for their hands. Zy has somewhat lost his marbles, but with him pushing small mice onto people - the easier I have it fragging ^_^
@@Guanjyn Yep, shape really matters a lot obviously, if you have a really big palm for instance you might want a bigger further back ass of the mouse or something like that. My gripe is that Zy is partaking in pushing the market towards smaller and smaller mice, not realizing that there is a great many people with big hands, myself included, that have very very few mice to pick from - if any.. Even his own calculator on his site yields zero decent results for 21x11 cm hands. It's extremely sad to see the direction he's headed, since he thinks he's right - but he's wholly ignoring chasing objectivity...
@@Kinaboxlol Yeah I agree that certainly is a danger. I was personally hoping he would release a larger version of his mouse since I can already tell it is too small for me. But at least judging by how popular a mouse like the Superlight is, small mice will hopefully remain a niche.
smaller mice almost definitely help you aim better, i used to have a logitech g403 and when it broke i was using a roccat kone until i decided on a replacement. smallest mouse i've ever used and it was eye opening. i eventually went for a glorious model o, used that for a couple years and now im on a g pro x superlight. best mouse i've ever used, the size and weight is just perfect for me to aim well without being uncomfortable. great stuff as always zy
This is literally my exact same progression. Believed the G703 was the best mouse, got my hands on a Kone Air, got the Superlight for xmas and never looked back. I thought the same would be "too safe" but it's genuinely perfect.
so i didnt really think about it as a challenge, but i went from the Logitech GPX, and switched to a Pulsar X2 mini becasuse of the recent Boardzy & RFP collabs. also been using the Pulsar Superglide Pad, coming from the Artisan Hien, I did experience cramps to begin, because i had a strange grip, but then i was able to adapt and i now perform better on the x2 than the GPX
Mice have actually gotten so good that it's actually hard to talk about them objectively. The mice we have these days are objectively pretty good. Most gaming mice are lightweight; majority of mice released since 2020 are at or below 80g (some of you might consider this heavy, but please remember that most gamers aren't sweaty tryhards), and only a handful are over 100g. Sensor performance is still improving but as far as perceptible upgrades go, they've basically reached diminishing returns since the 3360 and maybe even 3310, and no well implemented modern sensor has had issues like inaccurate tracking, spinouts, sensor delay, acceleration etc. And even the ones that did such as the MM731 were usually fixed with firmware updates. The only thing that really changes between mice now are subjective aspects - SHAPE, coating feel, switch feel, mouse feet, extra buttons etc. The only mice that could be considered objectively bad are offbrand Amazon mice. The G502 is a good mouse. It's built well, ergonomically shaped, doesn't have latency or sensor issues, has extra buttons, and that convenient infinite scroll wheel, so it's great most of the time. In FPS games though, the G502 is very large and designed to be used in a specific palm grip, so it's not optimal for a lot of people in this regard. If you ignore this specific use case, the G502 is nearly flawless, which is what most mainstream electronics websites are doing when they review gaming mice. As to how I'm playing with smaller mice - I used the G403 for about 2 years, then a year using the Roccat Burst Pro, and now I'm using the Fantech Aria XD7. I play about the same on all three. I find larger ergo mice like the G403 are great because I hold the back of the mouse on the bottom of my palm for stability and my fingers are long enough that I can make small movements with them. As I moved to the smaller ambidextrous Burst Pro, I lost a very small amount of stability, but micro adjustments were much easier. Same deal with the XD7 but to a larger degree. I feel like I can flick better with larger mice and track better with smaller, but overall perform roughly the same once I'm used to the shape. On a side note - the cable, weight of the G403 don't bother me because the G403's shape is just amazing. Shape is by far the most important part of a mouse to me. I also briefly tried a Viper mini... and gave up on it after a day. I know you need couple of weeks to get used to a shape, but this is one I definitely know has way too narrow a grip width for me. It's so small it legit reminds me of a Logitech M185 when I use it.
I have big hands and the likes or Zowie or Steelseries' biggest ones could only work for me - until I "accidentally" tried Logitech Pebble M350 - This is the smallest mouse that I've come across yet (let alone it's almost flat) and what I discovered is that: You can actually learn to grasped it naturally. It really is just a matter of grip conditioning and perception to work it out. Been rocking it ever since and wishing there's a gaming variant of it as well.
I got the G203 /G102 LIGHTSYNC and fell in love with the shape. the wide back let me grip the back with both sides of my palms for more control on the fingertip grip and let me rest my pinky on the top of the mouse. i haven't found a mouse yet with that comfort in the back, but the mouse is heavy so I wanted to upgrade to something lighter. I got the razer viper mini, and performed well with it, but it was a bit narrow at first but i adapted. The viper mini is good for snap movements, but it's chorded so I got the Razer Orochi V2 and it was nice and light, but narrow again at the back and didn't fill my palms the way the G203 did..i wanted something new so I got the MM711. The MM711 was amazingly comfortable like the G203, but it was chorded and I wanted a more expensive mouse for the sensor (plus the hardware for programming side buttons was super annoying.) I got the Razer Viper V2 pro and it performed extremely well and was nice and light and had all the right features, but it was a bit big and thus the search continues.... I ordered the G-Wolves HTX 4K, so we shall see when it arrives. In conclusion- the G203 shape was something I continue to search for, but the weight of the Viper V2 pro and snappy movement capabilities makes it the best mouse imo. The MM711 was a happy relief and gaming on it was awesome, but just didn't feel end-game in terms of build quality/sensor/software. The Orochi V2 is the best middle-ground and I think its pretty comfortable and small/light/good sensor, but an 7-8/10 for shape. It's hard out there for a pimp man, I wish u all the best of luck in ur search~~
Its funny that G Pro/203/305 were at one point the most popular mice in the aim training community (Kovaaks). Shape is goated but sadly weight/tech is slightly outdated which personally doesn't bother me but i'd love to see update with better tech and most importantly for me - more focus on quality. I went through few units before i give up, all had flexing and creacking.
I’ve used the Logitech G Pro Wireless since the day it came out and it always gave me wrist pain and cramps I’m my hands cuz I had to open my hands so unnaturally wide and it was horrible and the mouse was also way too long for me to control recoil in game. The second the Finalmouse Starlight-12 and Pro and UltralightX came out I got my hands in the most magnificent beauty piece of art Finalmouse Starlight-12 small and I never aimed better literally I clawgrip the Starlight-12 small and I have my highest accuracy and aim period I went from hard stuck bronze with the Logitech G Pro wireless to diamond in just weeks in Valorant all from switching to a smaller and lighter mouse. What a massive difference a smaller and lighter mouse can really make on your aim!!! From this day forwards I have never been able to use a mouse that is longer and wider in any direction than the Starlight-12 small and I now switched over to the Finalmouse UltralightX Carbon glass 4khz pull rate 3395 sensor mechanical switches 29g god of a mouse!!! Also forgot to mention I grip the Finalmouse UltralightX the exact same way ACEU grips his Finalmouse. Also yes I know you’re all thinking it just don’t want to say it I paired up the Finalmouse UltralightX with Finalmouse’s new flagship offering the Centerpiece Founders Edition all silver with custom gateron black ink switches with 8khz pull rate and adjustable actuation on the switches and of course the star of the show the customizable screen under earth the switches!!! By far the best keyboard that has ever been made on the planet period and nothing and I repeat nothing will ever compete with this magnificent piece of art!!!!!!!!!!
I got the MZ1 wired a wile a go and I loved it, it was honestly the best mouse I ever used. After a few months I started having issues with the muse double clicking on its own and random disconnects until it died. I ended up ordering a second one because maybe I just had a bad copy and same issues. I'm hoping this time that the wireless version will be my final purchase at least for a couple of years and not for the next few months.
regardless of shape and size, I have found that the more surface area I can get my fingers and palm on the mouse, the better I can aim. when I can manipulate my grip style on a larger mouse, I have versatility
So the opposite of what I've found ... any ideas why you might feel that way? My side of the debate is that it's like writing with a pen, the closer our fingers are together, the more precise we can make the movements. Maybe it's something to do with arm aiming? Even still, I'd imagine fingertips are more accurate than full hand aiming.
I took the challenge. 1) I tried the HSK 4k, didn't like my right-pinky dragging under a glass pad, too small. 2) Tried the HSK Plus Ace, size was perfect, but the rear hump was too big, thumb buttons too small. Both HSK mice had too low of a scroll wheel. 3) Tried a Finalmouse Starlight Last Legend Small, this was my goldilocks mouse. The size is perfect for me. Flicks and tracking are much better. I came from a Superlight Pro G and a Viper Ultimate v2. Both feel gargantuan now, Especially the Viper, that thing is ridiculously big. Hand size 18x10cm
I’ve bought several different shapes over the years but surprisingly the UL2 shape has just clicked and stuck with me since it came out. That being said, I also really like the ZA13 and the Air58, but it’s tough to find these mice with the same features as the Starlight currently. S2, GPW, SL12 Medium have been decent but too high. XM1, FK2, Lamzu Mini, those mice did not work for me at all. I’m still waiting to see if the MZ1 Wireless will ever dip in price a bit, or perhaps be updated to remove the lighting and battery slider in favor of weight. I think it would work well for what I’ve learned though, I like small mice with pretty flat sides!
Kind of a month late and you may already know/have seen. But Finalmouse are releasing a new mouse in a few weeks and they will be releasing 3 sizes, with the largest being close to the Air58 according to their latest videos.
This challenge is further proof of my main, I use the g703 it’s the most comfortable shape for me and across all games I’m consistent on it. Even though I have a superlight it collects dust becuase it’s not suited better for my hand/grip
Only if Logitech werent slacking and busy releasing overpriced "inclusivity" crap with 3327 for 100$ that is a direct clone of their very own 20$ office mouse and instead focused on updating G703 (which still has surprisingly high pickrate in many FPS games) and maybe the G305 too, it'd be amazing.
For me, Mz1 was an improvement from my previous mouse (model o-) but it was uncomfortable as hell even after give it a try for a month and after a few mice later I ended up with Np01s which was quite a surprise as it is relatively heavy. But shape is king I guess. I aim with it better than any mouse I have tried so far.
I always end up back at the za13 and viper mini. I will say that when i mained the mz1 for 3 months my flick/dynamic click accuracy was the best it's been. However tracking is more important for me so I need the higher back hump. The m42 was also a very nice balance but the za13 still felt better. In my case smaller mice were definitely better for aiming though. I had the new 303 and still aimed better on the original despite the weight.
"I will say that when i mained the mz1 for 3 months my flick/dynamic click accuracy was the best it's been. However tracking is more important for me so I need the higher back hump" that's what i've found, but you verbalized it better
Yeah the MZ1 was terrible for my tracking. I think for tracking ideally you want something that enables a tilt grip for wrist range of motion (flat grips inherently have less range of motion), and some degree of back support just to help keep a good amount of your palm off the pad so the mouse is gliding smoothly rather than your hand getting in the way.
So I tried it! I used your website to find the perfect mouse it was the mz1 wireless (our mouse pogii) and I was using the Model O at the time and so I yeeted it away and walked to the store to buy your mouse. I got home and started the challenge. I instantly was better in every game, and after the 4 weeks (now) I am scoring on average 30% higher accuracy in the quake gamemode. Thx a lot, this is perfect I love the mouse! And now I finally have better aim!
I technically started the challenge a few months ago when I switched from the model D to D minus and it worked well. I did recently switch to the pulsar x2 cause the ergo shape of the d minus while more comfortable made me a lazy aimer. My struggle tends to be finding a small enough mouse thats wide enough cause I have quite short and wide hands.
took the challenge, used Gpro superlight, Viper mini V2 and now using Lamzu Atlantis mini , my conclusion. Make a mouse with the shape of Gpro the size of the Atlatis the switches of the viper and you will have a winner! any suggestions to what to try next after all 3 of the things I want please let me know!
You should compare the gpro to the pulsar x2, and the x2 mini since they have such similar shape I wonder if detail in shape will be much more notable between the three rather than size being as much of a factor
@@JayDeeFrm7400 I think shape is a big contributing factor. For instance, my palm is comfortable elevated and supported by the mouse and what I don’t like is when my pinky finger is hugging the side of the mouse. I have a tendency to curl my pinky on the side of the mouse because a lot of the mouses I use are curved inward because of lack of support. That’s why I like the shape of the G pro. It’s just slightly too big I hope someday they make a mini.
I can recommend you this gaming mosue. The DM6 Holey Duo gaming mouse is a lightweight and responsive option for gamers, with a max speed of 250 IPS and 125/500/1000Hz polling rate. It features a PMW3335 optical sensor, gold-plated USB, and customizable DPI up to 16000.
The EC shape is perfect for me because my fingers wrap around the front right corner, which is curved on the EC series. BUT my preferred weight is where the Superlight and DAv3 are. The DAv3 is good, but the front right corner is a sharp cutoff so it's really uncomfortable with my fingers wrapping around it. The Pulsar Xlite the perfect shape and weight for me... BUT of course it has that click latency that makes it feel kind of sluggish. I'm hoping the Xlite v3 fixes this. It might be a long term solution for me if it does.
Oh man, if Xlite V3 and Xlite eSports are priced reasonably and offer good build quality, i can definitely see even more people turn their backs on Razer and Zowie. On paper, they sound amazing!
Completely thanks to Rocket Jump Ninja, I went from an early, monstrously heavy version of the DeathAdder to a Razer Orochi V2. I didn't even need time to adapt, my aim instantly improved. But I missed the forearm angle of an ergo, so I moved to the even lighter Pulsar xlite. Now I'm looking for an option up go smaller and lighter, but I love the idea of the deep grooves on the buttons of the MZ1...
I didn't know I preferred smaller mice until I decided to 'upgrade' my old G303 to a G303 Shroud Edition.. It was just way too big and I couldn't microadjust anymore. Decided on a G Pro superlight because it's everyone's to-go mouse but it was the same deal.. Too big. It wasn't until I pulled out the old G305 from the laptop bag that I realized how much more comfortable it was to aim. Got an MZ1 wireless and I've stuck with it since. Well until I make my own 3D printed g305 mod.
Really was looking to get the Xtrfy mz1, but couldnt get a hold of it in stock from where I am. Resorted to getting the Xtrfy m42 wireless instead. I've outgrown using the viper mini as I always felt my grip slipping and inconsistent performance. And I do believe the m42 is the best shape for me right now. I just to get well adjusted to it. Anyways, still stoked on getting the mz1 by any chance T_T .
My main has been the G305 for quite a while. Of course, I'm a casual RTS gamer with some moments for CS2 and Overwatch... maybe Doom in trhe near future. I haven't found a compelling reason to buy another mouse, a more expensive one.
For me the G Pro X Superlight is the mouse. It is not perfect (it is a bit too big for my hand, just a little bit), but i am comfortable gaming with it with no cramps or anything for 10-15 hours a day (not every day, sometimes) without any issues with my hand. Nowadays since i am 37, i get issues with my butt or shoulder though. Luckily those issues don't persist, gym helps a lot even though i only go a couple times a week.
Personally have terrible aim regardless of the mouse but still really enjoy shooters regardless. Started with a G403 but ended up finding your channel when looking for an upgrade after the rubber sides on that got destroyed which led me down the rabbit hole of small and lightweight mice. Overall got a few mice based on your videos and recommendations, with an EC2B being the only big mouse, like the MM710, MM720 and Viper mini, as well as a Deathadder mini I happened to find on a really big sale. Also got the MZ1 when you released it but that was a bit later on. Impressions though, with about 2 weeks given to each would be like this: Deathadder mini has a terrible shape and just shelved it after the two weeks, Viper mini was pretty good but too narrow and would cramp my hand quite a bit, MM720 I got a bit later and mostly after Dimitri's video about it and it was pretty good and super comfortable, but for aiming a tad too wide, with the winner in my case at least being the MM710. With all of its faults, from creaky body, to squeaky scroll it had the best shape for my hand with the wider base and taller back so have been using it since. Have of course given the MZ1 the two week treatment as well, but I just couldn't get over the narrow mid which would cramp my hand too much so went back to the MM710 after all. Also on a "quick" sidenote after this long rant, I would personally take lightweight with a good cable any day than "a few more grams" just to get the thing wireless. Anyway, /rant
Hey Zy! what are the chances to get a reworked MZ1 wireless without holes and RBG? I'm a purist and think that this mouse could reach its potential with a rework and maybe the latest 3395 sensor
Yeah that mouse need a V2, almost everything feel amazing but we REALLY need a REAL COATING like EGG / Zowie. On the comfort groove it doesn't bother me but on both side of the mouse... omg without grips it become like soap (and i hate grip because they need maintenance and the feeling are not really great, got lizard skin btw) and if they add bigger skates design + remove holes / RGB and that USELESS features wich add weight for nothing (i'm talking about battery cage wich can be moved), 60 grams is not a problem but with a mouse of this size it feel dense and not very well balanced compared with other mouse way bigger (like the EGG XM2we). If they do that I'll gladly buy a second one even if it costs more than the OG MZ1 Wireless. meanwhile i plan to remove that cage and stick a 150 mah battery with a strong double sided tape like beardedbob did (and keep those annoying lizard skin grip on it...). (And PLEASE Zy tell Xtrfy to NEVER use Optical switches like EGG did because they are a bit too heavy and feel like garbage compared to mechanical switches, just keep those nice GM 8.0 or use TTC, Huano, Japan Omron instead).
19.5x9.5 relaxed claw, main is lamzu atlantis. Tried a bunch of mice, the fantech aria xd7 beat out a bunch of my aim lab scores first try. Unfortunately I developed a bit of a pain on the top of my hand and elbow. I seem to find the smaller I go flicks get better, but secondary aim for correcting under/overshoot is harder
19x10 pincer claw here, changed to the Aria xd7 and beat almost all scores in Kovaaks; how's the Atlantis serving you? I'm curious between the original Atlantis and the mini.
@@kevinw0lf I like it a lot, the blue shell pink dot switches are amazing. Depending how you hold the xm2we could be better but the clam shell buttons don't give me enough room for pinky and ring since I keep them pretty straight
I was watching a live stream and there was a fun debate on mouse grip, basically, do you use your middle finger or ring finger on right click?. I was curious because I never tried using my ring finger, so I tried it out. Changing my grip felt really awkward at first but has improved my aim with Shroud's G303. Having my middle finger resting on the wheel and my ring finger on right click, it feels like this is how your suppose to hold a mouse, its feels more symmetrical, at least for me and the G303, I can see it lined up better when I flip it over. The range of my wrist also increased leading a to a straighter line and better tracking. If anyone out there feels like they are a little off, this could improve it so try it out!
hopefully i'm not alone. i went from a g pro wireless(OG version) to a pulsar xlite v2 mini. overall i'd say my performance stayed about the same. idk maybe this just means my search for the right mouse shape/size for me isnt over
I have 20 mice and what I found that each time I go back to GPX. I tried smaller and lighter mice but what I found that small mice make it easier to do target switch and some twitchy things but I suffer using them for tracking some small targets due to lack of stability (weight or smaller glides maybe) + it's really hard to warm up in kovaak when mouse weight almost nothing.
@@RocketJumpNinja I think that is mostly the shape. When I am using a mouse I think that priority is shape, weight+sensitivity and quality of life features (switches, buttons, coating, battery etc). Also I divided gaming experience and aim trainer experience. Shape. I like something like XM1r or ZA13-C more claw back hump oriented mice or some allrounders such as GPW or GPX. But in the end I came to the conclusion that if your hand is comfortable, you are good. Weight+sensitivity. I found that I prefer something about 60g with my sensitivity 34sm for 360. After some long gaming sessions I find that for example after using XM1r I find myself tired faster+I do micro adjustments worse due to weight difference. Increasing sensitivity could help with overall movement but micro adjustments will suffer even more. If we take the case that I am using a lighter mouse with the same sensitivity as Pulsar X2, Hati-s, Hati-s+ etc I become more twitchy with movement and micro adjustments but lose some smoothness with tracking (especially with small targets). I think that it could be fixed by lowering sensitivity. Overall small mice allow me to play longer without getting tired. My main con about small and light mice is PERSONAL INCONSISTENCY with results in both games and aim training. Sometimes it looks really impressive…as did Kile with 69% accuracy but it didn’t happen really often. This is one of the reasons why I go back to my safe space as GPX to prove myself that I am not that bad or do a few runs to compare results. I use GPX as a reference point if I am doing better. From my experience light mice are better for target switch scenarios and more heavy mice are good for smooth scenarios where its weight could eliminate “shaking hands” issue. Quality of life features. Mix of things that could do my exp worse: not grippy coating, Zowie’s hard to press scroll wheel, Pulsar main buttons QC issues, overall wireless battery life (except Logitech and latest Razer releases), really bad and buggy software where you can’t even check correct battery % etc. I think that all these checkboxes that I mentioned above click mostly with GPX + I need to stop spending money in search of mouse perfection and do better work with tools that I have to become better.
@@RocketJumpNinja i have a razer viper mini and i bought a xm2 we also. My main used to be the xm1 wired and i had been playing with ergo mices a lot in the past. EC2 A ect. My aim on the viper mini feeels so different sometimes i move so fast even myself im surprised. But i should've known long time ago because iwas forcing myself to play on ergo mices even tho my hands are small and it felt too big

Thanks for marketing, but I will not go back to drilled holes mice again. Logitech G502 Proteus Core was one of the best investments and feel with PWM3366 sensor
XM! was best for me. However, I'm perfectly capable of getting used to the better tech of the Razer Viper v2 Pro. My money is best spent there. Now, let's assume no shape matters; Lighter mice still feel better after adjustment
My hand never crasmped, love my MZ1 Wireless :) == Curious though, what do you think of the added lizard skin griptapes ? I like having one on the side and had them don't he tops..but ..wondering if you had any input on them since Xtrfy made grips for your (the RJN) mouse?
I use a lot of mice this last months , i use deathadder v2 mm711 v Mm720 viper mini gpro hero mx518 razer viper sharkoon light 2 and i use your web to find my mouse and i buy the cougar airblader and that mouse is amazing for my claw grip thank you for that method for find your mouse the best mouse is the more confort mouse for your hand and grip
Big thing to remember is that many mice have dpi deviation between them which can contribute to a bad experience of the mouse if you use the same sens. Measure in cm/inch 360 and do a dpi measurement with a dpi analyzer online.
When will you start doing mouse reviews 🥺 I miss hearing those inputs on the products. Hopefully you’ll get a chance to review mouse like XM1WE? Or DAV3 (DeathAdder Pro 3)
I agree with Forrest, the mz1 is great. However, my fingers, ring and pinky lands on the first row of holes. Although it does add some grip, after a while the side of my ring finger starts to hurt from being pushed in the holes. I tried adding grip but I don't like the grip because it changes the width. I'm trying to find some grips that are paper thin so they won't change the dimension of the width. Maybe that white sport tape?
@@attractivegd9531 I bought the mz1 white and the plastic feels way better. More of a matte finish. The holes also feel way better. Idk if they made them smaller or if their just smoothed out but they feel less sharp. So far my issue has been solved with the new white wireless one
Do you have any recommendations for larger mouses or will you possibly make video on the topic? G502 is kinda small for my hand and uncomfortable - giving me wrist pain and possibly pushing me towards carpal tunnel syndrome fast. I think video on this topic is something older people, who also work in office(and have larger hands) would appreciate.
Theres one thing im curious of. I did change to smaller mice, but would you recommend trying a different grip? ie I currently use palm grip but have been curious if I could improve if I used fingertip grip.
I’ve been using the logitech G305 for about three years I want to go bigger, but I’m not sure if there is a mouse that will perform the way the logitech G305 does just bigger. Any suggestions?
I also fell for the G502 reviews. The shape is fine and I like the thumb rest on the side of it but damn it is way too heavy. I also own the first version which is prone to the scroll wheel rusting and yes, mine is rusty as well. Tried smaller mice but I guess my hand is too large because they all give me cramps.
how old were these reviews she was talking about? G502 is ancient, and logitech moved on MASSIVELY from that. The superlight is still arguably the best mouse out there
@@BOZ_11 Back when the G502 first came out, it had a dedicated fanbase and I believe it also had the best optical sensor on the market which is why it was praised so much. There was a shift happening from laser to optical at the time and then later on when Logitech started putting Hero sensors in almost every gaming mouse, the G502 started losing its popularity due to it's weight. It's also around that time Steelseries suddenly gained in popularity 'cause their mice were light and the sensors were good. Now you got the Superlight versions of Logitech mice and again, it seems there's a new fan favorite; the G Pro X Superlight. What I've learned is basically, don't listen to the fanbase. It's all about comfort. Hand sizes & grip styles differ too much between users. Sensors are so good right now that you really just need to find a mouse that fits well into your hand, then get the lightest version of that to reduce strain. The only way to know if a mouse fits you is if you try a bunch of 'em out. If a mouse doesn't feel good in your hand or even gives you cramps, your aim is gonna be affected anyway regardless of the sensor.
@@AlienFreak69 thats what i mean. i had to double check the release date, and it was 2014. damn near a decade old. any of the cheaper razer, logitech, xtrfy mice are a million times better EDIT: the superlight wont fall prey to the shifting times in the way the G502 did. it's a timeless classic, with not a single glaring fault
Hi there! I have to say that i really love the shape of mz1 and it is definitely my favorite shape of all time. But i am having an existential crisis at the moment because I have tried this mouse with super glides (glass skatez) and it was fucking awesome for shaft, but I totally lost the rail that i was gaining when I was on the original skatez... Now I don't know what to do. Should I go for the fast skatez or the original? Or is there something in between?
besides the g305 I only use small mice and my grip and aim has increased by150% as I push way more in games thanks to xtrfy m42 and lamzu atlantis mini
In fairness to g502 everyone was rocking it back in the day and the mice back then were heavy plus the games like Fortnite utilized the extra buttons. It was a different market back then and what was available.
i have switch from kinda large mouse aka g502 to finalmouse M, lamzu and pulsar x2 medium. Then i switch to hsk pro 4k i got cramp at the first day, but i adjust to it so fast the only 1 thing i hate is that my finger keep sliping even tho i put on the grip tape
MZ1 is still my No1 pick. I put about 1000h with it in Apex. It's better for me than G Pro. You have one more button on mouse in the midle. It's great for 1-3-1 grip, for tap-strafe! Low bump is way better for me. Downside is slipery scrollwheel and no software for precise custamisation. But it's enough for me without software, I went on 1600 DPI 1.2 sens in game. Was 1400dpi on G PRO. All in all my main for now. Looking to try Coolermaster MM 712, becouse if its upgrade from 710 (very nice cheap mouse), and offcourse Razer mini wireless. Please make a review's. A lot mouses I bought becouse of you're reviews. Thank you.
Xtrfy GPZ1, it's a really interesting control fabric I tested and loved, but some people found it had a bit too much control. Need to do a 3 week mouse pad challenge too I think, so people actually see if they can aim better on it hah
it seems that no matter what grip or mouse i use im always getting cramps and constant soreness in my hands, and i can never seem to enjoy any mouse. do you have any advice/ideas?
For me the size doesnt make a difference in my aim I spend hundreds of hours aim training and my conclusion is that weight is the only important parameter
I don't think anyone's hands should cramp from gaming or everyday mouse use. Before that cramp phase even appear, you would already be feeling uncomfortable and should stop before the cramp even occurs.
A little cramping or pain is fine while adjusting. If the pain persists after 3 weeks, then yes, that's bad. But from my experience, it's fine to push. That's why I can use such small mice now, I've trained my hand to use smaller and smaller mice. And my hand feels fine, no issues.
Yeah it took me 3 weeks to adjust to the Diamondback from the DeathAdder, and the Diamondback is a bit bigger than the Atlantis Mini ... these days, it didn't take me any time at all to get used to the Atlantis Mini, no cramps, no pain. So like I said, 3 weeks ... if you can't adjust in that time, then ok, that mouse isn't for your hand.
this is the issue, you do have to try a number of mice... you really gotta find the 1 best for you. problem is non reviewers don't get them for free or at very least make money thru doing a video on them so its harder to just keep buying mouse after mouse
Yeah for sure, that's why I try to give size recommendations for each and imagine what it's like for different players ... trying to save people money!
When you feel comfort when the battles are most intense, i felt that zy! Good video🎉
I aim train alot and with smaller mice my scores are way higher BUT, ingame i tend to go get way faster shaky aim and much more inconsistent.
Yea most of the times you need to warm up a lot to get more consistent
@@JavierMartinez-jh4ov still with a mouse who is to small it wont help that much
I have same issue. I could do some high scores in Kovaak with Hatis or orochi but in actual game I do my best with GPX.
You are not alone here.
@@EvLTimE cheers dude
I took the challange, went from a Logi G Pro Superlight to a Gwolves HSK 4K Pro. My aiming has further increased and surprisingly my sensitivity went up slightly. I think it's related to the extra fingertip control gained.
dpi is different between 2 mouse (sensor height and other factors), so putting dpi from one mouse to another will have different cm/360, so you would use a different ingame sens.
I went from razer viper to hsk and i decreased sens from 27cm to 35cm because the hsk just moves so fast on its own because its so light.
@@vladgaedel8521 Good point, should pull out the ruler and see what the difference is.
@@BKHD605 the sameaim homepage to calculate sens between games has also a good dpi analyzertool
@@vladgaedel8521 I would have never thought of that. Simple things often throw me. Thanks.
Larger heavier mouse being more comfortable and ergonomic is just a myth
Lighter mice are better at everything including everyday use
It was the very first thing i noticed once i shifted to lighter mice.
Watching you since 2017 bro!!
Appreciate it, thanks for sticking around! Will have some mouse reviews coming again soon so hope you like them!
Nice about same
Very well said brother.

I went from the og g pro and now using the pulsar x2 mini (frankp edition). I couldn't ever go back to anything heavier or larger then the x2 mini.
@Blessed definately. Funnily enough I think the superlight weighs only 2 grams more than my x2 mini but the shape makes it feel much light plus I was pretty impressed with the build quality of the x2 mini at its price point. Feels like a really premium mouse for its price.
I wish the g pro wireless was about 10 percent smaller it would be perfect for me
@WayStedYou have you seen the pulsar x2 series mouses?
Here's my experience:
In the first week, I committed to use it as designed - same holding style as yours, which fits perfect.
Same here. I had a great experience with MM710 / MM711, after trying many models. CM have just released the MM712 and I will go for it.
Just hitting shots in general feels better.
so many comments about the Lamzu, I think they are catching on hard and thats good.
I told my friends how nice it was and they were like, Lamzwho? Haha
whats your hand size?
I remember listening to you years ago about smaller mice. Used Model O minus for about 2 months before selling it on Ebay. Absolutely miserable experience. I love my Model D now and will never go that small again.
Yeah the whole "Use a small mouse" is horribly misguided, and if you actually look at top aimers they use relatively big mice for their hands. Zy has somewhat lost his marbles, but with him pushing small mice onto people - the easier I have it fragging ^_^
@@Kinaboxlol True. Shape > size, which too be fair I think Zy says this too, but it's buried within this deep framing of "smaller is better".
But at least judging by how popular a mouse like the Superlight is, small mice will hopefully remain a niche.
took ur advice, went from DAV3 Pro to lamzu atlantis mini and omg I have never felt so in control when aiming
Now we need a MZ1 Wireless f0rest edition, like how Razer did with Faker, with 3395, no rgb and lighter weight, that would be nice!
smaller mice almost definitely help you aim better, i used to have a logitech g403 and when it broke i was using a roccat kone until i decided on a replacement. smallest mouse i've ever used and it was eye opening. i eventually went for a glorious model o, used that for a couple years and now im on a g pro x superlight. best mouse i've ever used, the size and weight is just perfect for me to aim well without being uncomfortable. great stuff as always zy
This is literally my exact same progression. Believed the G703 was the best mouse, got my hands on a Kone Air, got the Superlight for xmas and never looked back. I thought the same would be "too safe" but it's genuinely perfect.
@@ghrave_ the G703 would be the best mouse if Logitech actually tried to lower its weight like what Razer did with the Deathadder V3 Pro.
so i didnt really think about it as a challenge, but i went from the Logitech GPX, and switched to a Pulsar X2 mini becasuse of the recent Boardzy & RFP collabs. also been using the Pulsar Superglide Pad, coming from the Artisan Hien, I did experience cramps to begin, because i had a strange grip, but then i was able to adapt and i now perform better on the x2 than the GPX
nice
The magic of...natural progression.
Great review as always
You could try the Corsair Katar elite wireless, it is a slightly bigger than the orochi and similar to the g203 and is wireless and lighter
Hand size 18x10cm
love you from brazil. i waited and loved this video;D
@@vorkot1 PRAYING
@@vorkot1 they need to. If they make one, I'll switch from my Deathadder V3 Pro.
Only if Logitech werent slacking and busy releasing overpriced "inclusivity" crap with 3327 for 100$ that is a direct clone of their very own 20$ office mouse and instead focused on updating G703 (which still has surprisingly high pickrate in many FPS games) and maybe the G305 too, it'd be amazing.
being fingertip grip, for me the smaller the better it seems
For me, Mz1 was an improvement from my previous mouse (model o-) but it was uncomfortable as hell even after give it a try for a month and after a few mice later I ended up with Np01s which was quite a surprise as it is relatively heavy. But shape is king I guess. I aim with it better than any mouse I have tried so far.
Mz1 is VERY small. If it came in adult size and didn't have a terrible cable deign flaw it would have been a good mouse.
Went from G303SE to Lamzu Mini, feels that its easier to track but my flicks are inconsistent. Im still at the 1 week mark though.
that Lamzu mini is amazing haha, using it right now
I always end up back at the za13 and viper mini.
However tracking is more important for me so I need the higher back hump"
that's what i've found, but you verbalized it better
Yeah the MZ1 was terrible for my tracking. I think for tracking ideally you want something that enables a tilt grip for wrist range of motion (flat grips inherently have less range of motion), and some degree of back support just to help keep a good amount of your palm off the pad so the mouse is gliding smoothly rather than your hand getting in the way.
za13? a, b or c?
Recently got a model D minus, curious about what you define to be "lazy aiming", could you go a little into details ? Thanks !
My hands cramped from using an X2 BLE. Went back to the Altantis OG.
model o minus shape is just the king for me have tried bunch of mice and it just keeps winning
took the challenge, used Gpro superlight, Viper mini V2 and now using Lamzu Atlantis mini , my conclusion.
Xtrfy m8
I thought it didn't get much better than the GPX superlight, until I started using the beast x.
About "shape is king": IMO , it's less important than functionality. More buttons = more fun.
I think pulsar released an xlite mini wireless, sounds like it would be a good fit
@@phenic5761 I was going to say the same exact thing. I prefer the mini over the full size
Most important small mouse problem is accidental right clicks
Yeeee!
Keep up the good work!
Miss my MZ1 but my cable broke, maybe I'll end up getting a wireless copy.
Hey, so I asked the same ... Xtrfy are super busy with Cherry right now, so we will have to wait for an official answer. But yes, would be cool!
If you made the hump more like the good old kinzu mouse that would be great
Yeah that mouse need a V2, almost everything feel amazing but we REALLY need a REAL COATING like EGG / Zowie.
@@RocketJumpNinja I also think the mz1 should get xtrfy m8 treatment. Its such a clean looking mouse and it only weighs 55g.
G305 superlight with the finish and scroll wheel would ideal along with the weight
hopefully i'm not alone. i went from a g pro wireless(OG version) to a pulsar xlite v2 mini. overall i'd say my performance stayed about the same. idk maybe this just means my search for the right mouse shape/size for me isnt over
The Xlite v2 does have an ergo. Maybe try going for something that's less of it and smaller, does take time to getting used to tho.
G305 superlight 👍 can't wait for that one
I have 20 mice and what I found that each time I go back to GPX. I tried smaller and lighter mice but what I found that small mice make it easier to do target switch and some twitchy things but I suffer using them for tracking some small targets due to lack of stability (weight or smaller glides maybe) + it's really hard to warm up in kovaak when mouse weight almost nothing.
Interesting, so why do you keep going back to the GPX exactly? Even compared with similar mice... why that one in particular?
@@RocketJumpNinja
I think that is mostly the shape.
Yo! Do you by any chance have any plans on reviewing any Pulsar or Lamzu mice?
My aim feels way crispier on a smaller mouse and its like I have almost no effort to make to aim precisely
Nice, what's your main now then? And what did you switch from?
@@RocketJumpNinja i have a razer viper mini and i bought a xm2 we also. My main used to be the xm1 wired and i had been playing with ergo mices a lot in the past. EC2 A ect. XM! was best for me.

Big thing to remember is that many mice have dpi deviation between them which can contribute to a bad experience of the mouse if you use the same sens. Measure in cm/inch 360 and do a dpi measurement with a dpi analyzer online.
yeah, 0.3cm difference would ruin your "muscle memory". 🧢

I saw a light mouse I have never seen or heard of called asus tuf m4 air mouse it is 47g that is a very light mouse. I wonder if you will review it
I agree with Forrest, the mz1 is great.
One of my Quake friends made the exact same comment about the exact same mouse)
I've been maining Zowie ZA-13 , but I've been wanting to try the M42 or ZR. I think the rail looks similar to the ZA series but we'll see. 🙂
Mz-1 is suprisingly good and comfortable, and im coming from switching between gpx/m42/za13. Worth a try for sure!
The superlight is still arguably the best mouse out there
The shape is still sex af tho
@@AlienFreak69 thats what i mean. i had to double check the release date, and it was 2014. damn near a decade old. any of the cheaper razer, logitech, xtrfy mice are a million times better

Or is there something in between?
isn't the Sora already a small mouse? I mean.. i thought we were talking about G502 / Razer Basilisk type sh*t here
besides the g305 I only use small mice and my grip and aim has increased by150% as I push way more in games thanks to xtrfy m42 and lamzu atlantis mini
Please check out the Razer Pro Click Mini Wireless. I'm thinking of getting it for my tiny hand (17 by 9 cm).
In fairness to g502 everyone was rocking it back in the day and the mice back then were heavy plus the games like Fortnite utilized the extra buttons. It was a different market back then and what was available.
i love too much tech thats the homie
i have switch from kinda large mouse aka g502 to finalmouse M, lamzu and pulsar x2 medium.
Thank you.
what mouse would ya recommend wit h 18x10 hands ?
i wish the mouse were 110mm in length or back hump even lower (on low hump) and clicks are way too stiff for me
forest mentions he's using your pad as well? which pad is that?
Xtrfy GPZ1, it's a really interesting control fabric I tested and loved, but some people found it had a bit too much control. Need to do a 3 week mouse pad challenge too I think, so people actually see if they can aim better on it hah
lower hump is more accurate. Same for lower hump on mz1 wireless. Also easier to quick flick with.
are the australian servers for quake champions dead ?
it seems that no matter what grip or mouse i use im always getting cramps and constant soreness in my hands, and i can never seem to enjoy any mouse. do you have any advice/ideas?
Don't grip the mouse tight. Grip it as light as possible. What's your mouse, hand size, and grip style?
I just want the g303 shroud edition but I want it to be 50g
For me the size doesnt make a difference in my aim
I spend hundreds of hours aim training and my conclusion is that weight is the only important parameter
Thanks for the reply, im trying to get used to a lamzu atlantis mini, coming from a DAV3 it does feel unfamiliar and small.
Yeah for sure, that's why I try to give size recommendations for each and imagine what it's like for different players ... trying to save people money!
larger mice is better than smaller
I can't use small mouses. I get cramps using smaller mouses.
