"Bambi" voice and "Son of Frankenstein" actor Donnie Dunagan interview: Retro Rossiter Meets

  • Former child actor Donnie Dunagan was the voice of Bambi in the 1942 animated Disney film "Bambi," as well as appearing with Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff in "Son of Frankenstein." Among his many roles, he also acted with Basil Rathbone in the 1939 film "Tower of London." His first film was "Mother Carey's Chickens," in 1938. As an adult in his military service, his medals included the Bronze Star, and two Purple Heart medals.

      @@dgold6891 Isn’t it amazing to think that the work he did in 1942 has brought joy to millions, if not billions of people over the decades, with millions more to come. How many actors can know that their work has made such an impact? It was such a real honor to meet him.

    What a classic Hollywood actor! I loved the photos, especially the old Bela Lugosi pics and story of him messing up his name (love vampire stuff!). Another great interview!

    Hi Rossiter, are you kidding me....the voice of Bambi!!! How cool is that? I'm of an age that I remember all the actors mentioned in your conversation. Not all the movies rang a bell, but boy have you meet some very cool people. Thanks for sharing!
