- It begins!!!!
The first of 3 Acts of what I was able to complete for Sonic: the Wrath of Nazo. I know for many of you this may barely count as a consolation prize after canceling my original intent for the film's scope, but I truly was excited to pull this story off and want to share what I was able to accomplish.
Acts 2 and 3 are being mixed with new lines and audio currently. I really only got to work on Act 1 while I was between projects this past summer, so I am hoping to find time to get Act 2 and 3 out the door (with minimal unemployment, I hope)
I want to thank everyone, especially my Patrons, who supported me through this. I've read so many understanding, empathetic responses, as well as (understandably) frustrated, but good faith feedback responses. My Patrons specifically made affording this project (software, hardware repairs/upgrades, voice actors, freelancers, etc) much more feasible, and I will always be grateful for that despite slowly finding it harder to not just provide Nazo content to them, but also personal work and such for those interested in my projects outside/beyond Nazo.
And for those curious, YES you may use footage and audio for your own creations if you want to re-animate or re-dub Act 1. I'd appreciate you crediting the voice actors, musicians who created original tracks, and myself, but that's about it! Go for it!!
Acts 2 and 3 will take a lil more time and I don't have an estimate, but I sure would love to have them out in 2024.

I am so sorry that it had to come to this. I'm glad you were able to release anything at all to at least show what could have been. RUclips sucks. You deserved better. I wish you all the luck in the world on your future projects my friend. Your work doesn't deserve to just be labeled as "made for kids" as if animation isn't a medium.

Though it truly is unfortunate that Wrath of Nazo was cancelled, what you gave us is still amazing all around! The voice acting, the animatics and animation, all of it shows how much time and effort you put into this throughout the past 9 years, as well as how much your passion for the Sonic franchise burns with this! The collective Nazo series is something a ton of us cherish, and and your creativity made that happen, and for that, I want to say thank you Chakra-X!

The main takeaway I get from this is that because this project was so overambitious, it shows that you truly possess great passion when it comes to your ideas and projects. The fact you started this almost 9 years ago now and still wanted to find a way for us to see it even though your priorities shifted is something I really appreciate! Maybe someday, this project will see some form of completion, maybe not by your hands, but by someone just as passionate as you because it definitely deserves it! Much respect to you and I'm looking forward to acts 2 & 3. Merry late Christmas & early Happy New Year to you as well!
Passion to complete this project is assured to not be just one person. This will definitely be picked up by a team, and I'm possitive most of the said team would be largely inspired by the original Nazo Unleashed animation from a decade past.
It's definitely a possibility in this day and age, there are collab reanimation projects done by a bunch of animators, like the Kirby RBAY episode or the Sonic X one. There are countless Sonic fan artists, and I'm sure for many of them Nazo Unleashed is their jumping pad for their artistic-inspired journey.
Could totally see an animation collab happening.

Hearing Nazo's voice again was such a trip.
I love how you've incorporated way more Sonic music to fit the scenarios, the writing was super fun and the animation was so damn fluid and flashy, it's astonishing how much you were able to get done.
It captures a lot more of that Sonic style, while still having those Dragon Ball elements from the original.

Yeah, I’m actually more glad that the Sonic and his friends are actually voiced this time, rather than them just having voice clips from the old Sonic games.

He was just fulfilling his purpose, to be better than Sonic in every way. Nazo choked Sonic so he couldn't get up so Metal wanted to prove that he wouldn't lose so easily. But we all know how that ended up for him
I remember when i was a kid and saw the Nazo Unleashed animation, and now, nine years after the announcement of a sequel, it just...fills me with such joy. I don't care if this isn't finished, the mere feeling of having it here is just...pure happiness for me. Mister Chakra-X, i admire you, you're one of my main inspiration to focus on drawing comics and animation, i can't thank you enough for making such amazing animations, if you're reading this, i just want to let you know. We all thank you for all the passion and effort you put in your many projects, good luck in the future, grettings from Argentina, happy new year and cheers!

Dude, I haven't geeked out this hard in a MINUTE. The dialogue among all the characters was so natural and perfectly complimented the intensity of the action of this beautiful animation/animatic . The entire voice cast absolutely CRUSHED their performances as well. Thank you for bringing this to us, man. Much love
The fact that you nerfed nazo’s chaos control in a logical and straightforward way is so freaking cool and genius.

9 years....its been 9 whole years, but we're finally getting the sequel we thought would never come. I have been having a really bad few days recently, and this was exactly what i needed to lift my spirits...thank you, Aaron.
The fact that these "unfinished storyboards," gave me the same nostalgic and amazing feelings I feel for Nazo Unleashed, goes to show that this man is a gift from God. We should all be thankful that Chakra-X is willing to upload this. We love you buddy! This is amazing. And it will only get better with each part being uploaded.

as an aspiring artist and part-time animator, seeing all these storyboards in motion already teaches me lots of things so even if the animation was not even close to finished, we still get to learn a lot from them.

7:44 So, when Dr. Eggman brought back Nazo by using whatever's left of him, and he used some spare robot parts that allow him to absorb the Master Emerald's Power.
And for those robot parts are from his old Mecha Sonic projects, specifically, Mecha Sonic Mk.II from Sonic 3 & Knuckles video game. Since Mecha Sonic Mk.II was capable of absorbing the Master Emerald's power and transformed into his Super form, it's safe to say that Nazo can do the same thing in order to transform into his form of Chaos Nazo, a form likely to be much more powerful than his Perfect Form in the previous fanfilm and then some.

I love that in this version, it’s closer to Sonic roots but still kept the DBZ charm from the first one.
The first one was more like 50/50 Sonic and DBZ but this is 75/25 I’d say which feels like a much better blend for a Sonic story

After all this time its finally here! I've lost count of how many times I've watched this over and over. I hope my performance as Sonic lives up to the legacy of Nazo Unleashed, the original 3 acts mean so much to me and its such an honor to work with the man responsible for a huge part of my childhood

(Tigger warning I guess, I don't know) This might be over sharing, especially on a public platform but I wanted to tell you it's great to be able to see this. One of the fondest memories of my childhood was finding the directors cut version of Nazo Unleashed, and I've held that film you made so close to my heart since. I remember searching all over the internet for fan made sequels and I lost my mind when you announced this project. I checked every notification I got from your channel and was excited for every post. Recently this month I tried to kill myself and dear god I am so happy it didn't work. It was by complete chance that I got to enjoy the beauty and excitement of being alive, and I never would have seen the day this story continued. In whatever form it's in, so many people are getting to enjoy the work that you put out there and it inspired me and so many people, and I'm so happy that I'll even get to start the new year having seen act 1. I'm genuinely so happy this fucking exists, and thank you for being another source of light in my life even though we have no idea who each other are.

I feel bad this didn't come out, but I feel worse for all the patreon members who *paid* for *nothing*. This could've been earth shattering. But RUclips has been known to not be kind to animators. Still, its such a shame considering SNU is one of my favourite videos of all time and got me into sonic and Dragon ball.

Seeing and hearing Nazo talk after all these years is a trip and a half. I don't care what state of production this is/was in, it's incredible and you should still be proud of all of your work. Man, this took me back. Nazo Unleashed was such a big part of my childhood. I remember I was in like elementary when the teaser for this came out, absolutely pumped to see it. I’m in college now, and seeing it finally come out, even though unfinished, just feels amazing. Thank you Chakra, for all your hard work throughout these years, it did not go to waste 🙂

I was 11, or maybe even 10, when I saw first the first time Nazo: Unleashed. It was the DX version, now posted 9 years ago. This animation means an incalculable amount to me. Not only was this the first ever fan animation I had seen in my time spent on the internet up to that point, not only was this animated short film (allow me to call it that) what got me into the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise, this film was what got me into art as a whole. 6 years have passed. In the meantime I grew up, completed Sonic Colors DS and Wii, moved out a few times, made a reddit account to post my art which was still exclusively Sonic oriented at the time, tried to make a few youtube channels, completed Sonic Adventure, completed Sonic Adventure 2, bought an Xbox 360, completed Sonic '06 (and fell in love with it), got a gamecube, never finished Sonic Heroes, made friends, lost some, got in and out of relationships, and now here I am, halfway through my final year of high school. On christmas this year I finally got a graphic tablet to start seriously trying to make animation and next year I will be going into art school, and I have you and this fan animation you made 13 years ago to thank for it. To be perfectly honest, I wasn't aware until reading some comments before watching that the project had been (mostly?) cancelled as I only looked through your channel extrememly periodically. Nonetheless, and even though the animation is unfinished, and even though the animation itself is only(?) 12 minutes, I was still bouncing in my seat the whole damn time, my eyes teary, constantly repeating out loud "This is so fucking cool!!". I don't care that I waited a third of my current life for this, at least to me, it was worth the wait.
