  • What is "wet shimming"? When you have studs and shower walls that aren't flat, you can improve the flatness before you ever set tile.

Very good information on wet shim . This video provides technical knowledge for the tile pros that passes it on to homes where families dont want to worry about leaks in walls and floors. Thank you for educating me.

Great video I like how he also showed that it wasn’t completely perfect. it’s not like he’s bragging to show how skilled he is he’s showing a extremely helpful method, like everything it’s unlikely to be 100% perfect.

Nice explanation, try turning camera horizontal. it's like watching through a keyhole.

How about construction adhesive? Personal choice.

Great info. How does using the thinset for the gap fill last for long term? Or is there a better material they would last longer and not potentially fall out over time? Thanks!

Didn't show the process or what thin set he used. Come on man!

I had this exact problem on a small wall, Since I was double skinning the wall I should have wet shimmed the second skin to get it flat.. duh!...Anyway I manage with a shed load of adhesive.

Use drywall shims. Staple what fills the gap then use your hardiboard. Done no dry time.

It amazes me that people are still oblivious to the fact that filming in portrait mode makes for horrible videos. I would hope that people would have figured it out on their own by now. But that's not the case.

Travis k it wouldn't make much sense when I'm standing in an 8' tall shower. 😉

@@legacyfloors9466 Actually. As a professional tile setter, plumber, electrician, drywall hanger, and professional framer, general contractor and designer of wood planers and not to mention a doctorate videography, landscape settings and professional youtuber, i would have to say that you are wrong. It makes no sense to everyone else on this planet why you would film in portrait. There is no reason to ever film in portrait. Even when making a video call with skype.
Hope you take some of this free advice. I don't know why people refuse to change their ways even when they know that theo will only benefit from the change.
Good luck in your future endeavors. People that film in portrait are the type of people that use Bing.
