I'm glad you sat in the car and waited for that hail to pass, Adam. A stunning day for it! I've only been on Cribarth once and that was on a navigation course. We didn't get as far as the trig but had a great day... In November one year! We stared at Craig-y-Nos and passed some great river or waterfall on the way back. A very challenging environment - hence why the Mountain Leader chose it for our day! All the best, thanks for sharing.

HNY Adam. Little big mountain decribers it perfectly. I see it once a week when I go to Ystradgynais once a week to look after my grandson. I have been up it a few times and always from the Craig y nos park up but this route you have done deffo inspires me to get back up there and from your chosen route - nice one. It's been on my list to do since travelling back n forth and this cements t for me in 2025. atb Al

Brilliant it’s a nice area great video Adam that walll you mentioned you were going to walk to north from the summit above Craig y nos has a massive sink hole near it it’s really big called Pwll yr wydden it has a small waterfall going over its side into it worth exploring mate if you get the chance. Cracking video every time I look at cribath I am trying to see the profile of the giants head he’s supposed to be laying down with his head staring at the sky I can’t see it myself but it’s a cracking hill always quiet. The solitude is the real beauty of the beacons. Your last Fan Gyhirych walk I bet you saw almost nobody? Will definitely revisit to go up the wall and the visit that massive sink hole sounds awesome, once I got on the moorland however it was insanely boggy (as expected) so I might leave this until the summer when it’s dried out lol. So, good your couple of hours turned out to be a top-rate walk Adam. I remember Cribarth from when Paul and I were at Crag Y Nos in 2010. We camped not to far away. From down below it looks gnarly but looks equally as impressive on top. Rugged - I can see the likeness to North Wales. Well, good going. Mark

Interesting about the trig point not always being on the true summit. Cleeve Hill is like that. It has one summit but has two trig points that are well over a mile apart - something that can easily catch you out if you aren’t familiar with the terrain.
@@adamradford2285 Cleeve Hill is in the Cotswolds, it's just outside Cheltenham and isn't all that difficult to get to. Has a line of sight all the way to the Black Mountains/Brecon Beacons (and allegedly as far as Exmoor, although whenever I've been up there I haven't been able to see that far.) Another one that's well worth a visit.

If you drive from Ystradgynlais it is visible just as you pass the petrol garage and roundabout.
