@@davebirds5667 Thanks Dave, was a a very little walked Beacons hill this one, boggy and a bit off piste. Was good as a training hill! Thanks for watching mate, catch you soon. Best wishes, Adam
@@smoggiewalks578 Hi Martin it was lovely weather and a bit of an adventure, not easy as thought! Sorry to hear you’re not well. There’s a big flu epidemic at my hospital, I’m constantly in fear of contracting that on shift! Hope you feel better soon mate. Atb , Adam
Nice walk again Adam was I have been looking at similar small hills on the map up by Trecastle area Forest Fach think they will be good viewpoints so will venture around there sometime this year nice to get away from the crowds mate cheers Andy
@@andrewkingdom Hi Andy, that sounds great , I have walked the forest Fach both the main summit and trig point and it’s well recommended, the views are incredible from there and I saw nobody both days. Will look forward to watching your visit if you video it! All the best mate, Adam
Hey, Adam you were passionate about not liking that hill. It did reveal an unusual tree at the start invoking your imagination. I can understand how you were frustrated by the lack of time. I've gone out before, lost my way, and thought I have a bloody bus to catch. But there was the training factor - a good old yomp that. Maggs loved it. Well, good going - all the best with bagging them hills. Mark
@@WyeExplorer Hi Mark , thanks I’m glad I’m not the only one. Yeah missing a bus is even worse! It was a long drive over there so started late and with the short winter days I ran out of time. I didn’t enjoy the walk loads while I was up there but afterwards I thought it was actually quite fun. A love hate relationship with that one ha ha. Cheers for watching. Enjoy a great week ahead , BW Adam
wow... you went on a bit of an adventure there Adam !! Would love to find that tree you came acroos on the 1st bit of your hike. On your 2nd attempt after you crossed the style and turned left - I saw a woman coming from that direction when I was coming of Cribarth yesterday and asked where it led to - she mumbled "something" but I didnt catch it.. she didn't seem too friendly if I am honest - maybe not used to people saying hello etc...lol. atb Al
@@thevalleywalker Hi Alan , thanks for watching. That’s funny , I find 99% of people really friendly on walks but the odd 1% occasionally you get someone really rude lol. Well this video at least shows you were it went to 😂 Funny you say that because that tree was so striking , I thought straight away that’s an Alan photography tree. It was really eerie and atmospheric. To get to the tree you park in Cae’r Lan and just near the chapel there a driveway going up that leads to a path and small footbridge (shown on the map) , once on that stony path just follow straight and after about 15 mins reaches open common and the tree, easy to get to. You should go and photograph it , would love to see, it was a great feature. ATB , Adam
@@adamradford2285 Thanks Adam. Is the track/drive just before the church? I take it you can park by the side of the church? I will deffo go explore there sometime, thank you.
@ Hi Al, I parked at a T junction just off the A4067 as you turn into cae’r Lan. It’s marked on the OS map OL12 by a phone box/ telephone icon. You would then have the church to your right (right at the T junction) . Probably 50 yards before the church is a steep driveway that goes between houses/ round the back of some houses. Go up there and see a small lane leading to a iron footbridge. Stay on the stony path (don’t turn off if keep going straight) until you reach the common and the tree , hope that helps! Would be interested to see a photo of it ! Best wishes
@@adamradford2285 Cheers Adam.. as soon as I get chance I am going to explore. Looking at the map I am surprised to started that way and not the route you eventaully took as Caer Lan start looks a lot longer unless you wanted to make a decent walk of it?
Some of the smaller hills that rarely get visited are often tough walks as you can't assume any paths marked on OS maps actually exist. Looked a decent spot though.
@@TheWalkingKev Hi Kev, good to hear from you, you’re absolutely right there. Happened many times to me on small unvisited hills , where there is literally no path or the path on the map has disappeared 😂. It was good exercise for sure in all the bog. Thanks for watching, cheers Adam
