    I have been looking for a full, detailed draping video and yours was the only one I found with the beginning to end steps. These videos are extremely helpful and easy to understand and your enthusiasm is so refreshing. Thank you so much! I am so much more confident now.

    This is exactly what I've been searching for... thank you Nick this was super helpful. After watching all 5 episodes I now feel confident. I'm working on a similar dress, mine will however be made out of chiffon and will have a long sleeve... bishop type sleeve. 🤞

    I'm late to this, but all the work that goes into these dresses. it makes me think of people who see *amazing* ball gowns for $20 and are surprised it doesn't look like the (stolen, high end) picture 😂

    Dear Nick,
    I really have to write you a big big THANK YOU!
    In a very emotional moment I promised my best friend to sew her wedding dress. Her specifications didn’t seem too hard and I have sewed for years. Though I have never ever made an entire fitted, fancy dress. In the end, of course, I panicked ;)
    Luckily the design she wished was mostly what you did in the prom dress video. I first made a custom Mannequin from her measurements (with the help of bootstrap fashions) and then followed your whole tutorial. I took me quite a bit longer than you ;) but I worked out so well. The dress was exactly what she wanted, and the fit was amazing!
    I cannot thank you enough for this amazing series (and all your videos) you are doing such a good, educational job. You are charming and stylish and you light up my day every time I watch your videos. Please keep going on, stay healthy and as cheerful as you are!
    (If you would like to see pictures of the result, please give me a mail adress where to send them, as I don't want to post them on social media and I couldn't find a non-public way to contact you.)
    All the best from Germany!
    Eva

    Hello Nick what a wonderful series of tutorials on dropping a prom dress.
    I am a sewing teacher but never learned to drape or make my own patterns.
    I have 2 young women making their prom dresses.
    1 is a boned corset with a v overlaying a straight long gown.
    The 2nd is a drape which was the 1st time I had ever thought about it. Drafted a beautiful looking pleated bodice but couldn't understand how to get the design off the manniqune and create a pattern.
    I have just watch the 6 part prom tutorial wow.
    I would like to ask a question though if I may?
    The prom dress you made had pleated cross over bodice my young lady wants the 2 front bodice pieces to kiss just above the waistband and the shoulder to become very narrow at the top to attach a rhinestone spaghetti strap. Any advice would be gratefully accepted

    I'm so glad I found your amazing channel. You have an amazing talent sir. I was wondering eif you would please do a segement of suit making. Suits can get really expensive and no one seems to do tutorials on business suits for women. Especially if it's couture but smart. P.s. your niece is so lucky. Thanks in advancs😊

    Thanks cher Nick for this video. What a beautiful toile you made 😍 . A little question please: did you put an entoilage (sorry I don't know how it means in english) in the belt of your toile? Thank you so much and as always, des bisous from France 😚

    • @NickVerreosFashionSchool
      @NickVerreosFashionSchool  6 лет назад +1

      Hello Tsiferana: I put interfacing/fusing in the waistband to make it a bit stiffer...is that what you are asking? I think that is what you are asking because entoilage is interfacing so...YES :)

    • @tsiferanaandrianaivo5845
      @tsiferanaandrianaivo5845 6 лет назад

      Nick Verreos oh yes, interfacing or fusing 😊, exactly what I wanted to say. And not belt but waistband, hihi. Thanks cher Nick, I love all your videos and your "bonne humeur" (reverso translator says good mood) is so contagious. More kisses from France 😙

    also i would love your opinion: She wants a chiffon dress so i’m using a polyester/spandex as lining. For the skirt, should those pieces be separate? i would normally make them separate but because of the slit i’m getting a little confused. Thank you so so much!!

      Hi Megan! Thank you for your lovely comment and in regards to your question--I would recommend "dotted" or "numerical" pattern pattern for fashion patterns. Look up "Dotted Pattern Paper" on Google or Amazon, etc.

    What you do with the pattern and muslin after everything is done? Do you discard? Where?

    • @NickVerreosFashionSchool
      @NickVerreosFashionSchool  6 лет назад +3

      Hi Luciana--I always keep the muslin sample (for my archives) and same for the pattern. Don't throw it away because you never know if you might make the same dress again and you'll need the pattern and muslin. XO

      Thank you Emily! I usually buy my fabric through wholesalers (fabric companies that sell directly to designers/manufacturers) or I also like to go to Downtown LA and look for fabrics in the Fashion District Downtown. I am sure you can find fabrics at JoAnns or look at Mood's website as well.
