Two months later, Laundrie was found to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and his parents were suspected of helping to cover up the murder. You should research the information the media omitted from the reports. Brian was absolutely a victim of domestic violence.
I think they both are , her family failed the poor girl to teach her any better
@wowdude8244
Took them over two weeks to report her missing, now they're the grieving parents hauling in checks.
THIS!😢
The red flags were there... She chose to ignore them. That's not a slam against her at all.. I speak from experience. Please let her life experience teach others to watch for the red flags. When people show you who they are, believe them
Why does there have to be a documentary on this.kind of feel it’s exploiting the sad situation that happened to her
They wanted to make money off the situation
The parents were heavily involved with this apparently so it should be fairly true to the facts.
So she can be remembered?
Tragedies exist to be exploited.
People love True Crime categories.
It reminds me of the case with Shannan and her husband Chris/father of their 2 little girls - one boy on the way. Because how she was "living her life" on social media, everything seemed perfect. But she was also killed by the man who she loved dearly, and so was her 2 small girls Bella and Celeste.
If it wasnt for Shannan friend Nickole, they might never have been found - and Chris would never be found guilty for taking their lives.
I wish stuff like these never happen. For Gabby, for Shannan and her kids and too many other people... Its a cruel world we live in.
@laurenm.2265
Sha'nnon and Gabby's had some similarities. Both used their partners to present the image of the perfect couple to America. Both Chris and Brian made it clear they wanted space, neither woman seemed to respect it and both appear to snap.
@@emersonmanning6523your comment is dumb. They never discussed how they actually felt, they kept everything up in a bottle 🍼.
Similar, in that they were both missing white women who inadvertently provided a lot of content for "websleuths" to mine.
A woman being murdered by a violent man is common. A woman having the social media curb-appeal necessary to provide Netflix-level "murdertainment" to a nation is rare.
It was Gabby and Shannan's fortune, or misfortune, to fit just the right profile, have just enough material about them pre-available online, to drive bored viewers on social media collectively insane.
*RIP Gabby.*

The media calls it murder, law enforcement calls it homicide. There's a huge difference. When victims of domestic violence snap, the consequences can be fatal.
Been waiting for this documentary ever since the case happened
Find it truly disgusting, disturbing and awful. How could you take someone’s life?
Happens every day but I don't get it either.
There are several comments asking what happened, so I’ll throw down a quick version as best I recall- people can fix or edit as I’m not super well versed in it, but just to offer a basis for those who are unfamiliar:
It’s a tragic case where there was a young couple that went on an extended road trip and the boyfriend wound up strangling the poor girl in the woods. It’s conjectured that his family may have tried to cover for him upon his return, but I believe they deny this. He then went on the run and eventually committed suicide.
As other comments point out, it’s a sad reminder that sometimes people aren’t who they pretend to be… or, perhaps even scarier, they aren’t always who *we* pretend they are.
When everyone said this is going to turn into a Netflix Doc
She deserved better. This case helped many people escape domestic abuse situations, and probably even more who related.
Rest in Peace, Gaby.🕊️
Sadly its really hard to help someone who won't help themselves. Many women choose to be with someone who is physically abusing them. My female neighbour is doing the exact same thing.
In that type of situation, It’s best to help the domestic violence victim that is being abused, when the domestic abuser that’s abusing them has no idea or when their domestic abuser isn’t there. Otherwise, It puts the domestic violence victim’s life in danger if they aren’t helped! Also, The best way for a domestic violence victim to escape further abuse is to find help for them without the abuser finding out or intervening. And even if the domestic violence victim does not want help, they still need it because sadly their life depends on it!
There were 167 missing indigenous people during the time Gabby went missing!

@Venmaylove The point is Gabby's disappearance was front & center in the news while many others were ignored! Gabby deserved to be reported on & to be found as do all people who are in danger/missing etc. Equity in that department should be the norm🙏💜
@kristennoelle9447 you can't police people's preferences. A study was done with young toddlers and when provided different coloured dolls, they always picked the white blonde doll to play with, even the black toddlers said that they preferred the white dolls. The "van life" storyline appears in Law & Order Season 21, Episode 3, titled "Filtered Life" (2022). The episode follows Detectives Bernard and Cosgrove investigating the disappearance of Amanda Larson, a tourist living in her van. Blood is found on the van, but no body is initially discovered. Remember all the indigenous women they found while looking for Gabby? 😢
They were murdered on the Rex by their own. Only Native American police have jurisdiction so it’s up to them to solve the cases.
That's not true. In many cases, the investigation and resolution of the crimes involve cooperation between the FBI, and other agencies. There were plenty of crimes committed by non-Natives.

I will never forget watching those body cam videos when they got released. Poor girl was showing all the signs of being in an abusive relationship. She was blaming herself for reacting to his actions at the diner. Even witnesses called in and reported that it was him yelling at her, and then putting hands on her in the diner first. She took the blame thinking it would make things better with Brian, and he takes her life, then takes his life. What a sad and tragic story.
Couldn’t have said that better myself 💔💔💔💔💔
"Gabby Petito should have been cited for domestic abuse by Utah police, review finds"
The manager of that restaurant said that never happened. And she didn't blame herself, she tried to justify her violence saying he kept telling her to calm down so she slapped him. Brian protected her, asking if they could arrest him instead of her. Describing her getting "worked up" as a normal part of their relationship and convincing the cop that he wasn't in pain. Definitely typical victim behavior.
She behaved like a classic domestic a abuser. Imagine a man begging the cops not separate him from his battered girlfriend after confessing to hitting her. Abusers hate separation because it's a loss of control. Gabby was devastated, Brian walked away with no protest. She apologized profusely, I love him, I didn't mean to harm him.....the standard cycle of domestic abuse. You'd have to ignore a lot of evidence to call her the victim.
I can't fathom how anyone could watch that cop cam and conclude she was abused. She was controlling and manipulative, even asking the cop to cite her for distracting Brian while he was driving instead of DV. She admitted assaulting him, the cop witnessed her violence, a witness stopped a cop because she started punching him and Brian had injuries consistent with an assault. The cop reclassified the stop to avoid the mandatory arrest law. 1:49
@@emersonmanning6523 Gabby never behaved like a classic domestic abuser. And she was never controlling or manipulative. Brian was all of that towards Gabby. He was abusing her, controlling her, manipulative towards her. BUT of course, he wouldn’t continue that type of behavior in front of the Moab Utah PD. He was putting on a show for them, acting like “Mr Nice Guy” with them, being all “Buddy-Buddy” with them and fist bumping them and the whole nine yards! All the while, Gabby was there crying and in distress and scared out of her mind and crying and with visible marks on her face and arms. I’m sorry Emerson, but you’re not going to convince me or anyone else with a sound mind, that Gabby was the domestic abuser in this case.

She even had a big bump above one of her eyes, caused by Brian hitting or punching her. The independent agency’s investigative report finds that the officers who responded to the incident made several unintentional mistakes that stemmed from the fact that officers failed to cite Ms. Petito for domestic violence. The City acknowledges that this finding may raise questions, and the issue is examined extensively in the investigative report. The report recommends improvements to both the policies and the training of the Moab City Police Department. These recommendations include: providing additional training in domestic violence investigation, as well as additional legal training to ensure officers understand state laws and statutes; conducting an overall policy review; conducting a software review; and strengthening the review process for incident reports. The investigative report also finds that a statement was never obtained from the original 911 caller, and recommends that be done to make the incident report more complete. The City intends to implement the report’s recommendations. Based on the report’s findings, the City of Moab believes our officers showed kindness, respect and empathy in their handling of this incident. As the Moab City Police Department continues its daily mission to serve our community, efforts are underway to provide additional resources and tools to assist them in addressing domestic violence incidents. Plans are in place to add a trained domestic violence specialist to oversee incidents investigated by Moab officers. We also will implement added and ongoing training and testing to ensure that the officers understand policies and procedures. The City of Moab sends our sincere condolences to the Petito family. Netflix where’s the cobra kai part 3 trailer 😡😡
In that clip in the beginning they are wearing the same clothes as in the police cam video. I wonder if that was filmed the same day?
Yeah, That’s a very likely possibility that that clip was filmed the same day as the Moab Utah Police pullover! 🤯
All men unless proven otherwise.
???
…No
@ Find statistics that prove otherwise.
@ Said what I said.
@@Mohmee88 All men are what though? Unless proven otherwise? Do you mean that all men are abusive unless proven otherwise? If that’s what you’re saying, then I would say not all men are abusive. Men like Brian Laundrie who have manipulative, abusive, Narcissistic, controlling, condescending traits certainly are though! Some men are raised by their parents right and some are raised wrong by their parents. Brian Laundrie was certainly raised wrong by his parents, especially by is mother Roberta Laundrie.
These people are tragically dead. There is no mystery in this case because we know exactly what happened right now, so there is no need to dig into this incident anymore. Can't you just leave it alone and stop milking from this murder-suicide case, please?
It’s absolutely insane that Netflix has been profiting off of these tragedies
