I’ve had studio 3’s for the past 4/5 years and I love them! These have come out just at the right time as I’ve been thinking of replacing them in the past few weeks as they’re showing a lot of wear and tear at this point! Your review has convinced me not to replace as such but to have them along side each other instead so I can switch between the 2 for the different voicing of eq!
I went from Air Pods max to these. Comfort - AirPods Max are better. Beats are OK but fatigue could occur. The clamping needs some good loosening too, as it's strong. Doing the book trick to stretch them out helped a lot. Sound - Nothing much to separate them APM issue - when doing Spatial Audio there would ocassionally be a little bit of intermitency which would only go away when switching Spatial Audio off. This would happen on any device: iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. That issue has completely gone away with the Beats. Transparency mode - very little to pull them apart. Excellent vs excellent, but slightly less excellent in Beats. Price - Beats are much better value, specially with slightly better battery and USB-C DAC functionality. Features - APM switching automatucally between apple devices is good, until it got gungho about it sometimes. Sometimes it would stop pairing at all, and was a bit moody. Beats requires a manual switch, but it is very smooth and quick, with zero pairing problems across a large number of devices. Hope this helps someone. My conclusion is the Beats are better value and genuinely versatile.
Purchased these Nov 2023 for the gym, biggest drawback is the constant plastic creaking when I barely move my head. I guess a $350 purchase price is the new $12. I was going to switch to the MX4s until I watched your review on them creaking as well.(I enjoy your reviews, just discovered your RUclips page)
You almost had me getting the Bose QC 45 but now I’m onto these. I hope a future comparison video doesn’t have me regretting. I was going to wait for APM 2 but these seem the most comparable. Thanks for such thorough reviews.
I'm curious whether the durability has improved for these headphones, compared to previous studio versions. I remember that the plastic had the tendency to crack or snap
The durability of the earcups on my old pair was not there. The first time, I figured it was because I was using them at the gym. The second time, I used them normally, and the cups still started peeling again. After the second time, I just bought some cheap replacement cups for a few bucks and they were as good as new. I’m hoping the durability is there with the new version!
My studio 3's are 3 years old and have been absolutely abused, rained on and sweated in profusely. Absolutely rock solid and only just starting to get earcup peel.
Yeah I think they solved the durability issues mostly when they introduced the studio3s. Had mine for years and they still look and sound as good as new.
So glad you reviewed these! I really appreciate your testing methodology. Still curious about the spatial audio support. I'm seriously considering these to replace my Bose 700 headphones. Maybe, just maybe...
Once again a great review Mark. I’ve had my Studio 3s since launch and was going to bite the bullet and get AirPods Max but now I think I’ve found my newest purchase…
I've purchased the Apple Air Pods Max. It's been sent in for repair for "damage ". It's only the water 💦 that accumulates behind the ear cushions after long listening periods. I'm completely done with Air Pods Max👎
@@papafuz01 3 years almost daily use and absolutely 0 water problems lol, been using them in cold and hot environments, I dunno how you sweat from your head into a headphone? :D :D :D this is complete bs
I’d like to know how these match up against the Bose QC45. I’ve been trying to convince myself to buy a pair for a couple months now to replace my Sony XM3s and I think these might be a better option than the Bose from all the reviews I’ve seen.
How well does it react when switching from one device to another? Specifically Apple devices? The H1 in my Solo Pros is a huge deal breaker because of the auto device switching. And where can I cop that tee?? 🔥🙌🏽
There's no automatic device switching for Apple devices at the moment, but it might arrive in a future software update, according to Beats. As for the t-shirt, I'm afraid I genuinely can't remember where I got it from!
I have been using the beats solo 3 for a year now. I was worried about the bass when I bought them. But I was fascinated with how beats sound changed after Apple’s acquisition. I’m enjoying it.

Hello Mark! Interesting thoughts about the Beats Studio Pro. They seem to not be in Apple Store in Sweden yet but I guess they will come. How do they compare to the PX7S2 from Bowers & Wilkins? Blessings from a sunny Sweden.
Thanks for the reviews! Would like to hear your comments on these and Bose QC45 in term of ANC performance and easiness to carry in their size/case. thanks!
great review thanks Mark, i'd like to hear your honest opinion if you compare this to KEF Mu7 which one would you go for? they are at similar price range.. im iphone user and currently own airpods pro 2 but not satisfied with volume level, and bass . clear godo balance sound but im looking something more dynamic and louder. thanks
Ive been following the progress since they were announced! Other than the Apple device switching it seems they have all of the Airpods Max features but with the Beats sound, would that be fair to say…? Will probably hang fire for a firmware upgrade or two but fantastic video as always!
I want to thank you for your review on the Beats Studio Pro. Although, I have the Bose 700, I am amazed at the sound and ANC. I love them. I paid $250 for them on Amazon. Great sound! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
For all the users looking for that Lossless music feature keep in mind several things: 1-Bluetooth will not achieve lossless 2-Use the USB-C connection or the wired connection in order to achieve the Lossless feature I did notice when my pair would sync to my Mac, it would sometimes connect via Bluetooth and the USB cable. I would have to click on USB in order to have the Lossless feature enabled Also, if you activate the lossless feature via the USB-C or wired cable you cannot take advantage of the noice cancellation feature. So keep that in mind. By the way the Brown color is 🔥
I totally agree with this review. I just bought these headphones and I honestly think they are a better choice than the new AirPod Max 2s. I got these Beats Studio Pros as reconditioned at almost half the list price, and they are in perfect condition. They are a fantastic value. They sound great. They look great. I’m thoroughly pleased.
I was excited back when Beats came on the market and I got the Beat Studio (so we are talking back in 2008 or 2009..?). It was nice but I had a major issue with the fact that anyone sitting/standing next to me could hear clearly all the music out even at low volume. I can imagin that this is not the case anymore , correct?
Mark, you said the Studio Pros are "comfy" like the Studio3s were. I had a pair of Studio3s and couldn't wear them longer than 30-45 min without them hurting around my ears. Are the Pros the same shape and size as the Studio3s? I may just have too big of a head to enjoy the Beats line of headphones.
Nice review . Miss however the sound comparison (not nc just the real sound stage etc) between Beats and AirPods Max. For me the soundstage of AirPods Max is unbelievably better then the Sonys .
I'm confused by the USB-C lossless audio thing because does the 3.5mm headphone jack literally not do the same thing? OR is this just a flex of being able to listen to lossless audio at the same time as charging?
Was there any difference between audio via USB-C / AUX? I heard you could use Apple Music loseless mode if they were wired to USB-C I'd love to know if the mic was useable while it was wired too; my QC45's disable the mic if I plug in the aux cable which screwed me on a call before 🤣
Probably because AUX would require more conversions of the audio signal. AUX would require Digital to Analog through the DAC on the phone/dongle, then Analog to Digital in the headphones due to its built-in DAC, and then Digital to Analog again so it can be pushed through the speakers. With USB-C, it likely remains Digital as it goes over the wire until it’s converted into Analog through the headphone DAC.
I tried these because I was bored from my AirPods Max. Loudness wise the AirPods Max were louder if you go into their settings / accessibility and turn on brightness to max. They were louder and sounded wayyyy clearer.
I recently just bought these headphones for $199.99 at Best Buy. I personally wouldn’t have purchased them unless they were a good deal. I’ve had them for a couple days now and I might exchange them for Sony Headphones.
I bought these recently and only lasted a day before I returned. For me, they were incredibly uncomfortable. I purchased them primary due to the audio over USB-C. I am now using the Sennheiser Momentum 4's and get that same audio over USB-C and WAY more comfort (for me).

Hey, Mark. I'd love to know if the Spatial Audio experience is exactly the same as the one in AirPods Max? I'm returning the AirPods Max because I find them uncomfortable but the one thing that really impressed me (apart from the infamous Transparency Mode) is Spatial Audio, which brings some songs with bright vocals to life like I've never heard before. It's seriously wild. So, I'd consider the Beats if the Spatial Audio is 1:1.
I also initially found the Max far too uncomfortable for use beyond 20 mins. I stumbled upon a reddit thread that illustrated stretching the AirPods max out. Really did wonders for me. I’d consider trying this before returning them.
I'm a big fan of the features of the Airpods Max. They sound great, the ANC is solid, and I'm a big fan of spatial audio for movies and TV shows. They just are not that comfortable for me. The biggest issue is they are not comfortable laying down in bed when watching my iPad which is a huge chunk of my use case. So, I was very much hoping for headphones that matched the feature set, sounded as good and were comfortable. I'm not sure if these are that, but I'm interested.
Give me some knocking bass this is why i didn't get BEATS when Apple aquired them bcuz they took out about 90% of the bass.. These are better than the studio 3's bcuz they've added some of the bass back and still have clarity..
The construction and sound of the Max is great, so that was not a bad choice. I second guess myself too sometimes. Maybe test a pair just to see if you like them?
Which headphones do you want me to compare the Beats Studio Pro against?
Airpods Max, Airpods Pro 2 and Sony wh-1000xm4 plis!

So, I was very much hoping for headphones that matched the feature set, sounded as good and were comfortable. I'm not sure if these are that, but I'm interested.
No Apple Chip inside, so no features like Audio Sharing, etc..
@@canturkcivelek4896 I’m not too familiar with that feature. No autosense is annoying though.
Does t spatial audio in movies works only on Apple TV? Or the other streaming streaming services have it too
@@millel1986 Its dependent on device. So if using it with an Apple TV, iPhone or iPad then it will work for everything you watch.
@@danielwander605thank you tons!
Give me some knocking bass this is why i didn't get BEATS when Apple aquired them bcuz they took out about 90% of the bass.. These are better than the studio 3's bcuz they've added some of the bass back and still have clarity..
I just bought AirPods Max a week ago😢
The construction and sound of the Max is great, so that was not a bad choice. I second guess myself too sometimes. Maybe test a pair just to see if you like them?
Enjoy them!
Should have waited couple of months the new one should be out in couple of months
Nice video
would compare with xm5
Exactly, what is better for Android user- those are at the same price level
Or my 🥜
My xm5s had problems out of the box and then broke within a month

What about vs the xm4s?
Same heren, like to see a comparison
