Great video! The question may have been asked before, but i have heard of that last bushing/threaded stud being a pain to get the diff out. Looks like you removed the entire bracket holding that bushing, which allowed you to lower the diff. Is that correct?
Awesome. For the reinstall did you install with the bracket attached? Or did you do that afterwards. I have a first gen Tacoma 4x4 and about to tackle this alone.
Hey Austin just found your message and also responding to the other response.. when you said you tubbed the front, in my mind I thought you did something like you would see drag racer do to fit there tires.. a later video I saw when you moved your windshield fluid container you explained it alittle more.. that you just cut some prices out to allow the 35.. Anyways I’m working my way in the same direction with my 2002, and I’m enjoying your content very educational!! I do have more questions but I’ll end it here.. thanx guys
Its similar to a drag car just a smaller scale you do move the firewall back to accommodate for the bigger tire. im trying to put something together on how i tubbed it so watch for that. very cool, thanks! feel free to ask any question ill answer to the best of my abilities.
How much did front differential weigh ? I'm asking because I have to do mine, but I have a friend that is going to be near one that's available. Just wondering if that could fit in the trunk of a corolla and what it weighed? Thanks
If it's been a while working on your 3rd gen. It may feel weird at first, but then once you get momentum your all good to continue and work well. Thank you! 👍
I damaged my ring gear in my rear diff rock crawling. So I figured if I'm rebuilding it anyway might as well put a new ratio in it to compensate for the 35s and all the weight I have added to the rig.

Front diff removal begins at 11:30
Cheers for the vid.
Cheers!

That is correct. That's what worked for me.

was just having a bad day haha. everything was working against me it seemed like but i got it done! anything in specific you would like to see?
Nice video. Why you decide to change the gear?

Awesome video buddy, super nice red jack stands🤙💪🏻
Hey thanks!!
Listen here guy! Great Video!
Hahaha thanks man!
I ask what size tires and rims i got same truck thanks
315 75 R16
I’d like to hear more about the front end tubbing for 35’s
What would like to see/ know?
Why tubbing vs body lift with suspension lift?

Do you have a sunroof?
Yes sir
@@austinsoffroadgarage what roof rack is that? Do you have a video that you mentioned it in? Just found your channel, I'm a fan of it!

That's the video. It also has a section that removes for the sun roof so it's still usable
@@austinsoffroadgarage so cool. It's a good look
so you have to do ALL this just to replace the oil pan gasket
from what I have read in forums it looks like it.
Cool man!! Look forward to see future tips
Thanks!
nice video ! how much did the ARB installation plus compressor and hardware cost you?
Everything said and done about 3k
Good news is that these videos will help you get out in the shop and keep up with projects
For real. But also I spend more money haha
I had a hard time getting the flange past the steering intermediate shaft.. is there a trick to that?
i struggled with that as well. just a have to hit that sweet spot.
Austin i have a 3rd gen 4runner as well and recently installed 4.88 and an air locker my question is are u still running the stock transfer case?
Very nice. Awesome combo! I am. Why do you ask?
@@austinsoffroadgarage because I was wondering if I needed to up grade.and what kind of cv axels are you running?
Im wondering what cv axels because the very first time out in the mountains I snapped a cv axel so I have to upgrade.
you could upgrade to a dual case setup. stock CVs
ahh nice. I run stock shafts because I know they will break before the diff or a hub (I hope) also It's a quick fix.
1 year later but how did u break yours. I broke my rear gears
I was wheelin in Sand Hallow UT. How about you?

Did you unbolt that bushing with the stud on it before you removed the diff? If so, how difficult was it?
I did. It made it so I could lift the diff up and get that last bolt on the underside of the diff.
What about the vacuum lines and hoses? How did you tackle those?
@@Aged10Years like if there was a leak?
Oh they just came right off no problem.
Man your rig is sick!! What bumpers are you running?
Thanks dude! Appreciate it. I'm running a addicted Offroad front hybrid bumper and a 4xinnovations rear bumper and skid plates.
I like your video's, but they are SLOW.
