- Its finally happening!! The Sidewinder and the new Big Turbo are finally getting installed on the K20 Swapped EK Civic! Until we hit problems as usual LOL

Progress is better than no progress. The turbo isn’t true ball bearing, so you can get away with not running the water lines, but you can to help it cool more. The turbo return flange is GT series so it’s shorter. But widening the holes to bolt up will work fine. I’d run a turbo guard over the mushroom. You can take apart the wastegate and turn the body to have the banjo on the correct side. When getting into higher boost level or making a ton of power, you want to avoid having too much silicone between pipes, can potentially expand under boost or pop off. With customer service not picking up, I’d cut the down pipe and throw some pies in it to tuck it closer and away from the firewall. Good luck man 🤙🏼

Cx racing has really bad Qc there mating plates arent even flat and they have a rep of taking weeks to answer emails if they even bother to
I think they either sent you the wrong kit or upgraded your turbo for being an influencer, if you look on CX racing's site the GT35 (which is the name you said) is a 6 fin turbo not an 11 fin, it also doesn't have the slots in the front either. I have no idea what it could be cause CX racing doesn't even sell an 11 fin turbo.
when ya spray high heat paint onto an exhaust pipe flange manifold housing ect... it some times helps if the part is preheated to 300 or 400 degrees. but... ether way, ceramic paint turns to dust on everything except for wood.
that turbo manifold is designed to only work with the ek subframe not 92-95 eg subframe

The high temp paint works on manifolds and stuff if you don't use the clear enamel afterwards. Just spraying on the high temp paint and baking it will leave it matte and it won't burn off. The clear/enamel high temp stuff is what burns off and ruins the paint. I use the black high temp stuff on my turbo manifolds just because it looks better than the oxidized cast iron, and I don't have any issues.
Yeah even just the high temp paint I used on my caliper brackets required "baking" at about 100°C for an hour to be good to 500°C.
I’m sure you know by now.. but the kit was for a k series in an ek with ek subframe running ekk1 or ekk3 mounts. I’m willing to bet you’re running ekk2 mounts and eg subframe
you running an eg or dc2 subframe? makes the engine sit different for more room when you k swap an ek but people know why you want them subframes so theyre real pricey now, atleast they are in the UK anyway :(
I had this same problem, it’s probably due to the engine mounts that sit too far back on eg subframe. In my case I had to make a custom downpipe and relocate the wastegate

Robbie you do not need to fix the fact that you run into problems while filming, that’s the part that makes your videos fun to watch and interesting, no conflict installs are cool but get old so I really like watching you tinker and fiddle with parts to figure out your problems, KEEP IT UPP
That may be the wrong manifold. Sidewinder turbos usually sit a bit forward and the wastegate placement seems off. Teardrop style is best to combat creep.

guess if you got a v-band extension for that waste gate, it could off set it to the right spot. stainless welds fine with a stick welder.

With the straight 4’s the cylinders not firing have a high chance sucking back in some exhaust so that old manifold was basically forcing exhaust to go back into the cylinders

Does CX racing also use Hasport mounts for their build? Maybe those mounts rise your engine to a degree where you are facing those issues right now. Just guessing here. :)

I would say for sure the wrong manifold comparing it to pic you showed on the phone. Looks like the tubing is angled different and different length. Also the Turbo looks to sit differently on the mount than the other pic as well.

From the picture that was shown on the vlog it looks like two completely different manifolds. The collector of the manifold in the picture looks like 4 tubes together, and the one you guys have looks like a box collector. Think its the wrong manifold! hope they reach out to you soon and you can get this fixed

I've just realized, with so many cars, Robbie doesn't have a track car lol. The BRZ is too show car, Jasmine also is in a way, the K20 is a sleeper, Jenny is a drift car, the S10 is...well, a truck with a V8 lol.

What sort of power can be expected out of stock internal sidewinder turbo k20
Should be able to get 450 crank with the right parts and tuning. Might need E mix though. 400 safely and daily on premium.

@@baileybusbridge1562 if going to stay na probably better doing a k24 out of an accord or tsx/tl. More displacement to play with and even with good bolt ons/fuel upgrades could easily get into the high 200's. Would be killer in a sub 1000kg car.

@@baileybusbridge1562 less than an inch in any direction. They use the same mounts so width is close. The only difference I know of is block hight, k24 is 20mm taller. For an extra 400cc and limited room for forced induction that's pretty good.
Jasmine is in need of a built bseries that makes some ridiculous power just for the sake of it think after everything how that car has been built thought the channels growth these past what 3 years? Id say start of winter it needs to come appart and get fully built maybe even awd system swapped too
