I am excited to be on this journey with you all. Let me know if you have tried a Low Buy year. How did it go? What was the hardest part? Is this your first time attempting it or thinking about it? Would love to hear about your journey too!
I'm doing a low-buy as well, since mid-December, and it includes everything but the essentials. I have broken my low-buy a few times, but I'm not upset about any of the things I've bought. My purchases were a diaper pail, two laundry baskets, a perming mascara, and refillable baby food pouches. My intention was to avoid buying in excess, not to deprive myself of things that truly meet a need. So I guess I'm allowed to make exceptions for a "perfect" purchase. I haven't abused it so far. Now that I'm 3 months in and back to work, I've modified my rules a bit. I restricted some things further. I want to learn to wait longer for purchases, so I'm letting myself add certain things to a one-month waiting list. I wonder how it will go!
Aw thank you so much love! Thank YOU for being such a point of inspiration for me!! I am thrilled to be at this point and continue on with this community!
I love that you acknowledge that there is a disconnect between your work spending and your life goals... I am a professional cook and have so so much waste that is involved with my work, but in my personal life I try to have zero waste.
2020 has taught me to make a mindful purchase. to my surprise, I have the patience to wait until I actually buy them 😂 wishlist has been a huge aid for my purchase. always buy when they're on sale. I know the downside of sale is the size/ colour you want always sold out. but that also means reducing your purchase lol. I'm so happy of everything i buy in 2020!
Completely agree! It's wild how 2020 was sneaky to teach us these rules! I love when you get lucky and it's on sale and in the size and colour you want! But you're right that's usuallllly not how it goes haha
I would like to know how many Pink Floyd albums you have and which songs are a must on a playlist. Floydian minds would like to know. I'm also digging that background music
Me after watching this “ i need to stop buying more clothes” Also me during this video “Wow thats white tee that she is wearing is so cute, im wondering where she bought it “
Hahah that is alllll too relatable! I actually did a video on where to buy the best white t-shirt! This one is Babaton from Aritzia but I found even better ones! (not to encourage you or anything hahha)
I have goal already but I’m really struggling not to buy, I have tons of clothes which I’ve never worn them but still I want always to go shopping 😓 it’s really veryyyyy hard
I hear this tip about shopping with cash all the time but I just don't relate because in my mind the only reason you have cash is to spend it , so I'm way more likely to buy something if I have cash out cause I go yep that already left my bank account I will buy But buying with my debt card is so much harder cause I usually need to transfer money from another account that way more of a barrier cause I see it leave my account Just me I know
I’ve always worked as a cashier in some capacity… as a result, physical money means almost nothing to me because I see it transacted all day everyday… so the cash method has never worked for me 😞

Sabahat Naheed try not to judge yourself too harshly ♥️ also know you can restart your low buy year anytime! No need for January 1st ☺️
Amanda Weldon thanks Amanda x
Same here, but we will get better at it. Lets not quit! We can do it!
I feel like it would be easy to do low buy if you already have what you need.
